To provide a technique to reduce force required for opening or closing a cover disposed in an image forming apparatus, the present invention provides a storage container that is attached to an open-close door in a state where the open-close door is open to expose inside of the image forming apparatus, and that is disposed in a predetermined attaching position in the image forming apparatus by closing of the open-close door. The storage container has an inlet for toner to enter, and a storage portion to store the toner. The inlet is opened in synchronization with operation of attaching the storage container to the open-close door, and the inlet is closed in synchronization with operation of detaching the storage container from the open-close door.

According to one embodiment, a heater includes an insulating substrate, a heat generating section formed in the insulating substrate and including a plurality of divided regions in a longitudinal direction, temperature sensors detecting temperature of the heat generating section and a wiring pattern for power feed to the temperature sensors, each formed in a layer different from a layer in which the heat generating section is formed in the insulating substrate. The heat generating section, the temperature sensors, and the wiring pattern are layer stacked.

A toner container includes a container main body, a first toner storage portion, a second toner storage portion, and a gripping portion. The container main body is elongated. The first toner storage portion stores toner in its inside and is provided in one side in a longitudinal direction of the container main body. The second toner storage portion stores toner in its inside and is provided in the other side in the longitudinal direction. The gripping portion is provided between the first toner storage portion and the second toner storage portion, and includes a concave portion which is formed in a side portion of the container main body on one side in a width direction of the container main body, the width direction being perpendicular to the longitudinal direction.

An image forming apparatus has an image carrier carrying a toner image; a transfer member made with an ion conductive material and forming a transfer nip by being pressed by the image carrier; and a power supply continuously applying a transfer bias voltage to the transfer member as a plurality of print media pass through the transfer nip. The transfer bias voltage has a predetermined polarity. A control section determines whether the resistance of a nip-margin area has exceeded a predetermined resistance threshold, the nip-margin area being a marginal portion of the transfer nip through which no print medium passes. When the determination of the control section is affirmative, the power supply applies a reverse-bias voltage to the transfer member, the reverse-bias voltage having an opposite polarity to the transfer bias voltage.

A frame for sandwiching and holding a filter includes a first frame portion, a second frame portion, a plurality of first tapered projections, and a plurality of second tapered projections. At least the first tapered projections are disposed so as to be sandwiched by the second tapered projections with respect to an arrangement direction. Shapes, in a section in a plane perpendicular to the arrangement direction of at least one of the first tapered projections and the second tapered projections, of the at least one of the first tapered projections and the second tapered projections have first sides substantially perpendicular to a bottom thereof and second sides inclined with respect to the bottom.

An image-forming apparatus includes: a main body; a toner cartridge having a first opening; a process cartridge having a photosensitive drum and a second opening; a positioning part; a transfer unit; and an urging member. The toner cartridge and process cartridge are attachable to and detachable from the main body in an axial direction of the photosensitive drum. The positioning part and transfer unit are positioned above the process cartridge attached to the main body. The positioning part fixes the attached process cartridge in position relative to the main body. The urging member urges the attached process cartridge toward the positioning part and urges the process cartridge such that the toner can be supplied from the toner cartridge to the process cartridge through the first opening and the second opening when the toner cartridge and the process cartridge are attached to the main body.

An image forming apparatus, comprising a conveyance path configured to convey an image receiving medium; a fixing device configured to fix an image formed on the image receiving medium; a first roller arranged at the downstream side of a conveyance direction of the image receiving medium with respect to the fixing device, the first roller comprising an axis; a second roller configured to face the first roller and an end thereof of which protrudes towards a central part of the conveyance path with respect to an end of the first roller at the central part of the conveyance path in a first direction substantially parallel to the axis; and a protrusion arranged at the second roller side to protrude towards the first roller side from the second roller side and a protruding amount of which is greater than that of the second roller.

An image forming apparatus includes an apparatus main assembly, a controller provided in the apparatus main assembly, an operating portion mounted to the apparatus main assembly, a cable configured to electrically connect the controller and the operating portion, the cable having a connectable length with the operating portion mounted at a predetermined position, and an accommodating portion provided in the apparatus main assembly and configured to accommodate an excessive length portion of the cable connected with the operating portion mounted to the apparatus main assembly, the accommodating portion including a space for accommodating the cable in a wound state.

A fixing device includes a nip formation pad that presses against a pressure rotator via an endless belt to form a fixing nip between the belt and the pressure rotator, through which a recording medium bearing a toner image is conveyed. A fixing heater is disposed opposite at least a center span of a conveyance span of the belt in an axial direction thereof where the recording medium is conveyed to heat the belt. A first lateral end heater and a second lateral end heater are mounted on the nip formation pad and disposed opposite a first lateral end span and a second lateral end span of an inner circumferential surface of the belt in the axial direction thereof, respectively, to heat the belt. The second lateral end heater is electrically connected in series to the first lateral end heater.
