Modification of print queues based on user action and urgency
Various systems and methods maintain a print job of a user in a print queue and identify the user approaching a printing device using a user identification device operatively connected to the printing device. Such systems/methods alter the position of the print job within the print queue (e.g., to a higher priority position) or even begin printing the print job when the user identification device identifies the user approaching the printing device (i.e., before the user reaches the printing device). Systems and methods can also identify the urgency of the user using the user identification device. The amount that the print queue is altered can be based on the amount that the urgency of the user is elevated.
SYSTEM, METHOD FOR CONTROLLING THE SAME, AND METHOD FOR CONTROLLING SERVER
A system includes a server and a printing apparatus. The server manages a first printing content and a second printing content as a predetermined printing target. When an instruction user issues a speech instruction for printing the predetermined printing target to an audio control device as an n-th speech print instruction, the server selects the first printing content associated with the predetermined printing target.
CACHE MANAGEMENT IN A PRINTING SYSTEM IN A VIRTUALIZED COMPUTING ENVIRONMENT
A varied least recently used (VLRU) caching technique is used to enable print data to be available at a cache of a client for printing, even after an agent performs a deletion of a hash value for the print data at a cache of the agent. The deletion of the print data (cached at the cache of the client) is postponed at the client device via the use of a waiting list, so that the cached print data can be printed at a physical printer of the client, in response to receiving a delayed print job from the agent that specifies the hash value as a result of a deduplication process performed by the agent.
PRINTING DEVICE HOLDING PRINT JOB WITHOUT LIMITING LEVEL OF ELECTRIC POWER BEING SUPPLIED TO EXTERNAL DEVICE
The printing device includes a printing unit, an interface, and a controller. In a case that a print job is received while electric power is being supplied to an external device from the interface, the controller determines whether a first condition or a second condition is met. The print job is for commanding the printing unit to execute printing. The second condition is different from the first condition. The controller executes printing based on the print job while limiting a level of the electric power being supplied to the external device from the interface in a case that the controller determines that the first condition is met. The controller holds the print job without limiting a level of the electric power supplied to the external device from the interface in a case that the controller determines that the second condition is met.
IMAGE PROCESSING APPARATUS, IMAGE PROCESSING METHOD, AND NON-TRANSITORY RECORDING MEDIUM
An image processing apparatus includes a memory and processing circuitry. The memory sequentially stores a plurality of read images read by a reading device. The processing circuitry transfers pairs of read images from the memory to an external apparatus in ascending order of priority in bookbinding to leave pairs of read images in the memory in descending order of priority in bookbinding. The processing circuitry further instructs an image forming device to execute image formation with pairs of read images in descending order of priority in bookbinding.
Image forming apparatus
In an image forming apparatus, a communication device performs data communication with an external user terminal apparatus, and a job managing unit receives a print job request from the user terminal apparatus using the communication device. Further, when receiving the print job request from the user terminal apparatus, the job managing unit determines whether there is a user who is physically directly using the image forming apparatus or not, if there is not a user who is physically directly using the image forming apparatus, allows the print job request and if there is a user who is physically directly using the image forming apparatus, determines whether the print job request should be refused or not, and if the print job request should not be refused, allows the print job request and if the print job request should be refused, refuses the print job request.
Systems and methods for identifying a set of characters in a media file
The illustrative embodiments described herein provide systems and methods for notifying a user when a set of characters are identified in a media file. In one embodiment, a method includes receiving a set of characters inputted by the user of a computing device, playing the media file, transcribing the media file to form a transcription, and determining whether the transcription of the media file includes the set of characters. The method also includes initiating a notification prompt on a graphical user interface of the computing device in response to determining that the media file includes the set of characters.
PRINTING SYSTEM, PRINTING APPARATUS, AND METHOD OF CONTROLLING ACTIVATION OF PRINTING APPARATUS
A printing system includes a first printer configured to execute an initial operation to transition to a printable state when receiving an activation instruction and a second printer configured to execute an initial operation to transition to a printable state when receiving an activation instruction. Activation instruction processing for outputting the activation instruction to the second printer is executed when the second printer is designated as a following printer to be activated subsequently to the first printer. In the activation instruction processing, the activation instruction is output to the second printer at second activation timing obtained based on, with timing at which the first printer receives the activation instruction as a starting point, a first initial operation time, a first maintenance time, and a second initial operation time.
PRINTING SYSTEM, PRINTING APPARATUS, METHOD OF CONTROLLING PRINTING APPARATUS AND INFORMATION PROCESSING APPARATUS, AND STORAGE MEDIUM
A determination is made as to whether priority is given to a print setting or a print preset by a general-purpose print service performed on an information processing apparatus. This makes it possible to resolve a conflict in settings.
IMAGE OUTPUT APPARATUS, IMAGE OUTPUT METHOD, AND STORAGE MEDIUM
An object is to provide an image output apparatus, image output method, and storage medium capable of suppressing a decrease in print efficiency. To this end, print jobs are printed in such an order that the closer the temperature condition is to the temperature of a fixing unit, the earlier the print job is printed.
