METHOD OF DISCRIMINATING RFID TAGS IN MOTION FROM STATIC RFID TAGS
Some embodiments are directed to a method and a system allowing moving tags to be discriminated from stationary tags, which can be used in the field of tracking merchandise or objects provided with RFID tags.
COMMUNICATION DEVICE AND SYSTEM INCLUDING COMMUNICATION DEVICE
A communication device includes a communicator that communicates with an RF tag in a non-contact manner, a communication unit that exchanges data with a host device, and a controller that controls the communicator and the communication unit. Every time the communicator sequentially reads data from the RF tag that passes a communication-feasible region near the communicator at regular time intervals or irregular time intervals, the controller updates first data to be exchanged with the host device by the communication unit so as to include the read data. Also, the controller updates second data to be exchanged with the host device by the communication unit to a value different from a previous value in association with timing with which the first data is updated.
RFID variable aperture read chamber crossfire
A read chamber device disclosed for use within a radio frequency identification (RFID) scanning enclosure which provides a means of reading a plurality of cartons moving through the enclosure via a conveyor belt. The enclosure is positioned over a section of the conveyor belt, such that the plurality of cartons on the conveyor belt pass directly through the enclosure. The read chamber device that may be positioned centrally to the enclosure and projects a read zone via an antenna positioned centrally within the read chamber device. The read chamber device provides for tuning the read zone via a movable metal plate comprising absorber material components secured to it, that is positioned at variable distances to partially or fully cover the read zone. The metal plate is moved into the read zone to obstruct a percentage of radio frequency energy from escaping the read zone, and thus narrowing the total read field.
INTERROGATION DEVICE, SYSTEM INCLUDING INTERROGATION DEVICE, AND PROGRAM
A controller in an interrogation device performs, for each RF tag passing through an interrogation zone that is defined near an interrogation unit, an integration process of integrating a strength of a reception signal from the RF tag received by the interrogation unit. The integration process includes weighting of an integral value of the strength of the reception signal in a manner to cause an integrate value calculated for each reception signal to be larger than an integral value calculated for a preceding reception signal. When an RF tag moves to a predetermined position in the interrogation zone, the controller transmits, to a host device, an identifier of an RF tag having a maximum integral value selected from the integrated value calculated for each RF tag.
Increasing scan rate of parcels within material handling facility
Systems and methods disclosed herein increase a scan rates of parcels within a material handling facility. In some instances, the systems and methods described herein focus an imaging device on a label attached to a parcel to capture image data of the label that is in focus. This permits the image data to be analyzed for discerning shipping identifiers that are used for sortation and/or processing the parcels. For example, a height of the parcel may be determined and a field of view (FOV) associated with capturing the image data may be correspondingly adjusted. Furthermore, other setting(s) associated with imaging the parcels may be adjusted. For example, lighting conditions may be adjusted to reduce glare, contrast, and/or brightness captured within the image(s), and/or other setting(s) of the imaging device may be updated, such as gain and exposure.
System and method for reading one or more RFID tags in a metal cassette with an anticollision protocol
Reading apparatus for objects each bearing at least one RFID tag, said objects being placed in a cassette that can also be furnished with an RFID tag, said system comprising at least one element in the form of a tunnel in which said cassette can be placed, said element comprising at least one antenna and one RFID reader, said antenna comprising at least two coils composed of several turns, said coils being distributed along and around said tunnel.
CAMERA DEVICE AND METHOD FOR DETECTING AN OBJECT
A camera device is provided that comprises a camera having an image sensor for recording images of the objects and at least one first deflection element, and wherein the field of view of the camera has at least one first part field of vision with detection of the first deflection element and a second part field of vision with detection of the first deflection element. In this respect, the first deflection element is arranged such that a first perspective of the first part field of vision is a different one than a second perspective of the second part field of vision; the first part field of vision thus provides a different perspective of the object than the first part field of vision so that at least two sides of the object are simultaneously recorded by the image sensor.
Memory management for mobile device correlation
For a measurement period, signal strengths, device identifiers and access point identifiers are received from a plurality of access points. A record for the measurement period is stored in random access memory with the record being associated with a single device identifier and containing access point identifiers associated with signal strengths received for the measurement period. The location of a device is determined for the measurement period by retrieving spatial coordinates of a corresponding access point for each access point identifier in the record for the measurement period and setting the location of the device for the measurement period to the average of the retrieved spatial coordinates.
SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR USING RFID TECHNOLOGY TO IDENTIFY PRODUCTS
In some embodiments, an RFID system for product identification may include a compartment having a first wall and a second wall that extend toward each other and that together define at least part of a cavity and a channel. The cavity may extend laterally along a first direction and may be configured to contain a suspended package and having a first width may extend along a second direction. The channel may extend laterally along the first direction and having a second width may extend along a second direction, the channel being in fluid communication with the cavity, the channel may be configured to limit movement along the second direction of a support that extends downward through the channel and into the cavity to support the suspended package, the second width of the channel being narrower than the first width of the cavity.
WIRELESS TAG COMMUNICATION DEVICE AND SHEET PROCESSING APPARATUS
A wireless tag communication device for communicating with a wireless tag conveyed by a conveyance mechanism, includes radiation regions from which a radio wave is emitted. The radiation regions include a first region extending along a first direction crossing a conveyance direction of the tag and having a first length in the first direction, a second region extending along the first direction and having a second length in the first direction, a third region extending along the conveyance direction and having a third length in the conveyance direction, and a fourth region extending along the conveyance direction and having a fourth length in the conveyance direction. The device further includes a controller configured to cause at least one of the first, second, third and, fourth regions to emit a polarized wave towards the tag. Each of the first and second regions partially overlaps the third and fourth regions.
