PATIENT VIDEO MONITORING SYSTEMS AND METHODS HAVING DETECTION ALGORITHM RECOVERY FROM CHANGES IN ILLUMINATION

Various embodiments concern video patient monitoring with detection zones. Various embodiments can comprise a camera, a user interface, and a computing system. The computing system can be configured to perform various steps based on reception of a frame from the camera, including: calculate a background luminance of the frame; monitor for a luminance change of a zone as compared to one or more previous frames, the luminance change indicative of patient motion in the zone; and compare the background luminance to an aggregate background luminance, the aggregate background luminance based on the plurality of frames. If the background luminance changed by more than a predetermined amount, then the aggregate background luminance can be set to the background luminance, luminance information of the previous frames can be disregarded, and motion detection can be disregarded.

An imaging device capable of detecting differences with low power consumption is provided. The imaging device includes a pixel including a photoelectric conversion element and a transistor; an analog processing circuit; and a digital processing circuit. The imaging device is operated in a first mode and a second mode. In the first mode, the analog processing circuit detects a difference between first imaging data taken by the pixel and second imaging data taken by the pixel and generates a trigger signal on the basis of the value of the difference. In the second mode, the digital processing circuit converts third imaging data taken by the pixel into digital data. Switching from the first mode to the second mode is performed on the basis of the trigger signal.

A monitoring support apparatus which supports a monitoring system using a comparison method for real time and archived film and/or photographs. It relates to image capturing devices and, particularly, to an image capturing device which can automatically compare photographs and/or film and compare the differences in a selected time or an archive to a present situation. This relates to systems for video viewing/monitoring films or photographs and determining what changes have occurred. The process comprises: a general Flicker Process: Step 1: Establish Photograph/Film baseline; Step 2: Select comparison Photograph/Film Future or Past; Step 3: Time Lapse between the baseline and a comparison frame; Step 4: Contrast Base and Comparison Selected Computer App/Streaming/etc.; Step 5: Flash/Color/Highlight/“Box-In”/Ghost etc. differences; Step 6: Record/Save Contrasted Comparison; and Step 7: Take Action: Report, Respond, Call Authorities, or other.

Method and apparatus for conducting surveillance

The present invention relates to a method and apparatus for processing video image data, so as to apply different types of processing to different aspects of video image data. A detection process is arranged to detect a item, object or event appearing or occurring in a scene being viewed by an image device. An image data process is responsive to the detection of the object or event and to control information to process the image data for a portion of the scene where the object or event appears or occurs, differently from the processing of the image data associated with the rest of scene. For example, the object may be a person's face, and the face image data may be processed to produce high resolution data, the rest of the scene being provided in low resolution. This saves on processing, transmission and storage.

FLOW LINE ANALYSIS SYSTEM AND FLOW LINE DISPLAY METHOD

Displayed is a flow line analysis image in which the privacy of a person reflected in a wide imaging region is appropriately protected, and staying information or passing information of a person in the wide imaging region can be easily and accurately recognized. A camera includes an imaging section that captures an image of a differing imaging region for each camera, a background image generating section that repeatedly generates a background image of a captured image of the imaging region at predetermined timings, a flow line information analyzing section that extracts flow line information regarding a staying position or a passing position of a moving object in the imaging region of the camera, included in the captured image, and a transmitter that transmits the background image and the flow line information of the moving object to a server at a predetermined transmission cycle. A server includes an image generating section that acquires flow line analysis images based on superimposition between the background image of the captured image and the flow line information of the moving object for each camera, and generates a wide-region flow line analysis image by using the plurality of acquired flow line analysis images, and a display control section that displays the wide-region flow line analysis image on a display section.
