SECURITY SENSING METHOD AND APPARATUS

Optical data transceiver is used to illuminate a secured space with an optical data signal which has been modulated to contain a first data sequence. One or more retroreflected optical data signals are received at the optical data transceiver from reflector elements disposed in the secured space. The retroreflected optical data signals are authenticated and a security event notification is selectively communicated to an enterprise security management controller if a variation occurs in regard to at least one retroreflected optical beam condition. The variation can involve a disruption of the optical beam and/or a displacement of the optical beam.

SECURITY CAMERA SYSTEM

A monitoring system includes a first camera having a housing and an image sensor positioned in or on the housing and designed to detect image data corresponding to an environment of the first camera. The camera further includes a camera network access device positioned in the housing and designed to wirelessly transmit the image data. The camera further includes a local power source positioned in the housing, coupled to the image sensor and the camera network access device, and designed to store electrical power to be used by the image sensor and the camera network access device. The system also includes a hub having at least one hub network access device designed to wirelessly receive the image data from the camera network access device and to wirelessly transmit the image data to a cloud server.

Imaging system for immersive surveillance

Security guards at big facilities, such as airports, monitor multiple screens that display images from individual surveillance cameras dispersed throughout the facility. If a guard zooms with a particular camera, he will lose image resolution, along with perspective on the surrounding area. Embodiments of the inventive Imaging System for Immersive Surveillance (ISIS) solve these problems by combining multiple cameras in one device. When properly mounted, example ISIS systems offer 360-degree, 100-megapixel views on a single screen. (Other resolutions may also be employed.) Image-stitching software merges multiple video feeds into one scene. The system also allows operators to tag and follow targets, and can monitor restricted areas and sound an alert when intruders breach them.

Integrated Power and Processing Device for Roadside Sensor Systems

The present invention relates to a novel system to integrate the critical components needed to power, control, and communicate with a roadway surveillance or monitoring system, such as a roadside camera system, into a small, self-contained and “unobtrusive” package so as to enable roadside surveillance or monitoring in an aesthetically appealing and functional package. This package may be inserted into a traffic pole, a utility pole, a light pole, or the like, whereas prior art systems were simply connected to an exterior surface thereof. The package may also be configured such the top cap is oversized and can slide in (and be secured, such as by screws or other securing means) but will not fall through the external structural pole or tube in which it resides. Such an “in-pole” integrated processing device has many advantages over the prior art.

IMAGING SYSTEM AND IMAGING DEVICE

The present technology relates to an imaging system and an imaging device that enable imaging at an appropriate angle of view while preventing reflection, in a case where imaging of the surroundings of a vehicle is performed from inside the vehicle. An imaging system includes an imaging device that includes a plurality of pixels that receives incident light entering from an object after passing through neither an imaging lens nor a pinhole and each outputs a detection signal indicating an output pixel value modulated in accordance with the incident angle of the incident light, the imaging device being mounted so that the light receiving surface faces the surface of a windshield on the inner side of a vehicle and is in contact with or in proximity to the surface of the windshield. In this imaging system, the average of the centroids of incident angle directivities indicating the directivities of the plurality of pixels with respect to the incident angle of the incident light is biased in one direction from the center of the pixel. The present technology can be applied to an in-vehicle system, for example.

Outdoor Camera Assembly

The various implementations described herein include a video camera assembly that includes: (1) a housing; (2) an image sensor encased in the housing and configured to capture activity of the smart home environment; (3) a wireless radio configured to transmit video frames captured by the image sensor to an electronic device via a remote server; (4) at least one infrared transmitter configured to selectively illuminate the smart home environment; (5) one or more circuit boards encased in the housing, the one or more circuit boards including at least one processor mounted thereon; and (6) a heating component coupled to the image sensor, the heating component configured to continuously maintain the image sensor at a temperature above a threshold temperature while the image sensor is capturing the activity of the smart home environment.

Optical Resolution Reduction Elements

A controller based apparatus mounted on the ceiling of a room to control the lighting level of a space includes an image sensor/detector for capturing spatial data, ambient light data, and images and an optical element which allows sufficient light to pass through such that the image sensor can collect sufficient data to provide the controller in order to extract motion events, occupancy data, and/or ambient light readings while maintaining the privacy of individuals by reducing the optical resolution of the image sensor such that fine features, such as facial features or other identifiable features of people or objects, cannot be recorded or stored.
