Surveillance apparatus, surveillance method, and storage medium

An apparatus acquires a video image from a surveillance camera 2 and displays an image based on the video image on a display 3. The apparatus 1 records the video image acquired from the surveillance camera 2 in a recording unit 105. The apparatus 1 includes an abnormality detection unit 106 configured to detect an abnormality from the video image, an attention period determination unit 107 configured to determine an attention period based on a period from a start to an end of a detected abnormality, and a displaying unit 102 configured to display a video image acquired from the surveillance camera 2 as it is on a display 3 until the abnormality being detected ends, and, when the abnormality being detected ends, acquire, from a recording unit 105, a recorded video image recorded in a period corresponding to the attention period and play back the acquired recorded video image.

Methods and apparatuses are disclosed for recording video data of an event. The apparatuses include a processor communicating with memory. The memory stores video data of the event captured by a camera, and the video data includes a series of picture frames of the event. A loop buffer also stores video data of the event captured by the camera. A rule-based engine stored in the memory uses a set of rules to store the contents of the loop buffer in the memory. The apparatus utilizes the loop buffer to provide video data prior to occurrence of the event.

System for inter-process communication

Described is a novel method of inter-process communication used in one example in a surveillance system whereby multiple input processes communicate surveillance data to a reader process that consumes the data from the input processes. A locking mechanism is provided to reserve a reservable portion of queue metadata which comprises queue pointer(s) such that only one process may move the queue pointer(s) at a time. Reservation is provided with little or no kernel operations such that reservation costs are negligible. Arbitrary size queue slots may be reserved by moving the points. Writing and reading into the queue is done outside of the locking mechanism allowing multiple processes to access and work in the queue simultaneously leading to a rapid queue synchronization mechanism that requires little or no resort to expensive kernel operations.

A search device includes: a storage unit configured to store a video obtained from a camera; a screen unit to display the video; and a control unit to control operation of the storage unit and the screen unit, wherein the screen unit may display a time control interface for receiving a time condition, wherein the search device may search for videos and events stored in the storage unit in response to the time condition, and wherein the time control interface may include an AM control interface for receiving a morning time as the time condition and a PM control interface for receiving an afternoon time as the time condition.

Acoustic detection of small unmanned aircraft systems

Systems and methods of non-line-of-sight passive detection and integrated early warning of an unmanned aerial system by a plurality of acoustic sensors are described. In some embodiments, the plurality of acoustic sensors is positioned within an intra-netted array in depth according to at least one of a terrain, terrain features, or man-made objects or structures. The acoustic sensors are capable of detecting and tracking unmanned aerial systems in non-line-of-sight environments. In some embodiments, the acoustic sensors may be in communication with internal electro-optical components or other external sensors, with orthogonal signal data then transmitted to remote observation stations for correlation, threat determination and if required, mitigation. The unmanned aerial systems may be classified by type and a threat level associated with the unmanned aerial system may be determined.

Video management system and method for retrieving and storing data from surveillance cameras

A surveillance camera and surveillance data storage system includes a video management system (VMS) with a backfill monitor controlling the process of transferring backfill surveillance data locally stored on the cameras to the VMS. The backfill monitor accesses information in a transfer policy and camera schedule dictating priority and bandwidth settings for each camera or for groups of cameras and uses the information to allocate the order, timing and speed of the transfers. The backfill monitor can further adjust the transfer speeds continuously and in real time according to the current conditions of the network.
