A system for monitoring individuals while protecting their privacy includes at least one energy emitter configured to emit energy onto a field-of-view that may contain an individual, and at least one energy sensor configured to capture reflected energy from within the field-of-view. A spatial measurement module calculates spatial measurements of objects within the field-of-view based on data from the energy sensor. A schematic generation module creates schematic views of objects within the field-of-view, distinguishing human beings from each other and from inanimate objects or animals. Three-dimensional measurements of the individual and environs are transformed into a two-dimensional or other schematic view, allowing ongoing monitoring of the individual while preventing viewing of the individual's face and appearance, and preventing observation of what the individual may be wearing or watching.

A remote security system and method for securing a workstation including a display within a space may comprise at least one image capture device, at least one lock mechanism configured to cooperate with an entrance to the space, and at least one network access security device configured to cooperate with the workstation. The system may comprise internal components configured to cooperate with external components including a processor configured to determine from a captured image the presence of an unauthorized person, device, or activity. The captured image may be processed and annotated using an artificial intelligence modality.

A video camera may create an anonymized video stream by detecting people's faces, then anonymizing the faces by pixelating the faces. The camera may be a single housing where the outbound transmissions may be restricted to anonymized content. Some devices may include a secure portal or access mechanism by which authorized users may access raw video prior to the anonymization process, or may be able to receive information that may assist in identifying individual people in the video feed. The authorized users may provide credentials or have some other mechanism to gain access to the sensitive raw video feed. The devices may embed the anonymization routines into hardware or software such that a raw video feed may be unavailable when initially installed.

A method for partially unmasking an object in a video stream comprises: displaying a first video stream in which objects are covered by privacy masks; receiving user input regarding a selection of an object being covered by a privacy mask, wherein the object has a first portion being associated with a first privacy level and a second portion being associated with a second, higher, privacy level; checking that a permission associated with the user input grants access to video data depicting object portions being associated with the first privacy level; giving access to video data depicting the first portion of the object; and displaying a second video stream which differs from the first video stream in that it includes the video data depicting the first portion of the object, while the second portion of the object is still covered by a privacy mask.

A system and method for identifying if a drone is illegitimately video streaming a location, object or person. An interceptor intercepts radio transmissions and identifies if a radio transmission is an FPV video transmission. A watermarker is used for emitting a periodic physical stimulus at a given frequency for a given duration. The system then verifies if there is a correlation between the video transmission and the periodic physical stimulus; and issues a privacy invasion attack notification if such a correlation is determined between the video transmission and the periodic physical stimulus.

Method and apparatus for carrying out the method receiving packets, each of the packets comprising a header and a payload. For each image of an image sequence captured by the camera, the image is pre-processed by filtering the image by applying a privacy filter, the privacy filter being configured to distort the image in such a way that privacy is achieved in the filtered image, and, for at least a subset of the filtered images, by colour revising the filtered image by changing colour of pixels of a plurality of scattered areas of the filtered image such that a respective colour of one or more pixels of each area of the plurality of scattered areas represents one or more original colours of one or more pixels before filtering at a location of that area in the filtered image. The pre-processed images are then encoded into an encoded video stream.
