ACTIVE NOISE CONTROL SYSTEM
An active noise control system includes an error adder that generates an error signal by adding an output of a left-seat left microphone and an output of a left-seat right microphone, an adaptive filter that generates a noise canceling sound from a reference signal by performing an adaptive operation using the reference signal and the error signal, a left channel gain adjustment section that adjusts a gain of the noise canceling sound to be output to a left-seat left speaker, and a right channel gain adjustment section that adjusts a gain of the noise canceling sound to be output to the left-seat right speaker. A ratio between the gains of the left channel gain adjustment section and the right channel gain adjustment section matches a ratio between loudness levels of noise transmitted to the output of the left-seat left microphone and the output of the left-seat right microphone.
Engine order and road noise control
Exemplary engine order and road noise control systems and methods include directly picking up road noise from a structural element of a vehicle to generate a first sense signal representative of the road noise, detecting harmonics of an engine of the vehicle to generate a second sense signal representative of the engine harmonics, and combining the first sense signal and the second sense signal to provide a combination signal representing the combination of the first sense signal and the second sense signal. The systems and methods further include broadband active noise control filtering to generate a filtered combination signal, and converting the filtered combination signal from the active noise control filtering into anti-noise and radiating the anti-noise to a listening position in an interior of the vehicle. The filtered combination signal is configured so that the anti-noise reduces the road noise and engine sound at the listening position.
Headphone with off-ear and on-ear detection
A headphone having a speaker, a feedforward microphone, a feedback microphone, and an OED processor. The speaker is configured to transmit an audio playback signal based on a headphone audio signal. The feedforward microphone is configured to sense an ambient noise signal and transmit a feedforward microphone signal based at least in part on the ambient noise signal. The feedback microphone is configured to sense a total audio signal and transmit a feedback microphone signal based at least in part on the total audio signal, in which the total audio signal is the sum of the audio playback signal and at least a portion of the ambient noise level. The OED processor is configured to determine whether the headphone is off ear or on ear, based at least in part on the headphone audio signal, the feedforward microphone signal, and the feedback microphone signal.
Dynamic on ear headset detection
A method and device for detecting whether a headset is on ear. Microphone signals from a plurality of microphones are used to derive a plurality of signal feature measures, which are normalized to a common reference scale. The signal feature measures are weighted based upon detected signal conditions in the microphone signals. The normalized and variably weighted signal feature measures are then combined to produce an output indication of whether a headset is on ear.
Reducing far-field noise produced by well operations
A system for reducing far-field noise produced by well operations includes a passive sound barrier shielding an area, in which the well operations are performed, in an open-air environment. The system further includes a sound sensor to receive near-field noise from the well operations. The system further includes an analysis module, coupled to the sound sensor, to generate an anti-noise signal. The system further includes active anti-noise generators, coupled to the analysis module, to generate anti-noise, based on the anti-noise signal, that destructively interferes with noise from the well operations outside of the passive sound barrier at a predetermined distance from the passive sound barrier. The analysis module generates the anti-noise signal based on the near-field noise, the predetermined distance, and adjustable positions and orientations of the active anti-noise generators.
A Speakerphone System That Corrects for Mechanical Vibrations on an Enclosure of the Speakerphone Using an Output of a Mechanical Vibration Sensor and an Output of a Microphone Generated by Acoustic Signals and Mechanical Vibrations
Described herein is a speakerphone system (system) comprising: at least one loudspeaker, the loudspeaker adapted to generate mechanical vibrations on an enclosure of the system; at least one microphone (mic) adapted to convert an input sound acoustic signal into an input sound electrical signal and adapted to convert the mechanical vibrations into a mechanical vibrations electrical signal, and to output both of the input sound electrical signal and the mechanical vibrations electrical signal as a mic output signal; at least one mechanical vibration sensor (MVS) adapted to convert the mechanical vibrations to a mechanical vibration error signal to output the mechanical vibration error signal as an MVS output signal; and circuitry adapted to subtract the MVS output signal from the mic output signal and output the resultant signal as a speakerphone output signal.
Audio system and signal processing method for an ear mountable playback device
An audio system for an ear mountable playback device includes a speaker, an error microphone, which senses sound being output from the speaker, and a sound control processor. The processor is configured for controlling and/or monitoring a playback of a detection signal or a filtered version of the detection signal via the speaker, recording an error signal from the error microphone, and determining whether the playback device is in a first state, where the playback device is worn by a user, or in a second state, where the playback device is not worn by a user, based on processing of the error signal.
NOISE REDUCTION DEVICE
A noise reduction device includes a processor that converts a noise signal collected by a microphone disposed in a control space into a noise signal in a frequency domain, a storage that stores the converted noise signal in the frequency domain as a reference signal, and a signal generator that generates a noise reduction signal for reducing the noise signal collected by the microphone at a control position of the control space. The processor determines whether or not the noise signal is non-stationary noise based on a frequency characteristic of the converted noise signal in the frequency domain and a frequency characteristic of the reference signal. When it is determined that the noise signal is the non-stationary noise, the processor controls the signal generator so as to cancel generation of the noise reduction signal.
ACTIVE NOISE CONTROL SYSTEM
Adaptive filters output a cancellation sound from a speaker, a selector selects outputs of a plurality of auxiliary filters each corresponding to different positions, a subtractor subtracts the selected output from the output of the microphone and outputs the subtracted output to the adaptive filter as an error signal, and a position detection device detects a position of a head of a user. A transfer function estimated so that the error signal becomes 0 when noise is canceled at the corresponding position is preset in the auxiliary filter. When the auxiliary filter corresponding to the position close to the head of the user changes, the switching control unit stepwise increases the frequency with which the output of the auxiliary filter is selected by the selector to 100%.
DYNAMIC IN-VEHICLE NOISE CANCELLATION DIVERGENCE CONTROL
An active noise cancellation (ANC) system may include an adaptive filter divergence detector for detecting divergence of the one or more controllable filters as they adapt, based on dynamically adapted thresholds. Upon detection of a controllable filter divergence, the ANC system may be deactivated, or certain speakers may be muted. Alternatively, the ANC system may modify the diverged controllable filters to restore proper operation of the noise cancelling system.
