Two-piece spring push with stress distribution features
A two-piece spring push includes a main body portion and a cap. The cap is attached to the main body portion through a locking member that is disposed within a slot in the main body. The main body also includes alignment features that are received by the cap. The cap may have a bump that extends into an opening of the main body to limit the movement of optical fibers inserted therein. A front face of the cap engages a portion of a housing of a fiber optic connector when assembled.
Optical connection component
An optical connection component includes a plurality of optical fibers and a capillary. Each of the optical fibers includes a glass fiber and a resin coating covering the glass fiber. Each of the optical fibers is provided with a coated portion where the glass fiber is covered with the resin coating, and a coating removed portion where the glass fiber is exposed from the resin coating. The coating removed portion is located closer to an end face of the optical fiber than the coated portion. The glass fiber has an outer diameter of less than 124 μm. The capillary has a first end face and a second end face opposing to each other, and a plurality of holes having an opening at the first end face and extending towards the second end face. The holes respectively receive the coating removed portions of the optical fibers.
FIBER OPTIC ADAPTER WITH INTEGRALLY MOLDED FERRULE ALIGNMENT STRUCTURE
A fiber optic adapter is disclosed. The fiber optic adapter includes a main body configured to receive a first fiber optic connector through a first end and a second fiber optic connector through a second end for mating with the first fiber optic connector. The adapter includes a ferrule alignment structure located within an axial cavity of the main body, the ferrule alignment structure including a sleeve mount and a ferrule sleeve, the sleeve mount including an axial bore and at least one latching hook extending from a center portion of the sleeve mount toward the first end of the main body and at least one latching hook extending from the center portion toward the second end of the main body, the latching hooks configured to flex for releasably latching the first and second fiber optic connectors to the fiber optic adapter. The sleeve mount and the main body of the fiber optic adapter are unitarily molded as a single piece and the ferrule sleeve is separately placed within the axial bore of the sleeve mount.
REVERSIBLE OPTICAL CONNECTORS AND ASSOCIATED DEVICES, SYSTEMS, AND METHODS
Reversible optical connectors, and associated devices and methods are provided. In one embodiment, a connector for a communication cable includes a housing comprising a cavity, and a first plug and a second plug coupled to a distal portion of the housing. The first and second plugs are connected to the housing such that the first and second plugs are independently rotatable with respect to the housing. The connector further includes a latch actuator coupled to the housing and configured to disengage one or more latches from an outlet. By rotating the plugs 180 degrees and turning the connector over, the relative arrangement or position of the two plugs can be switched or reversed. The plugs can be rotated or reversed without completely disassembling the connector, in some embodiments. Accordingly, embodiments of the present disclosure can improve workflows for a user or operator that in a high-density networking setting.
Reversible polarity MPO fiber optic connector
A multi-fiber, fiber optic connector is provided having a housing having a first end for receiving a multi-fiber fiber optic cable and a second end having openings for the fibers from the cable. First and second keys for setting the polarity of the fibers within the connector located on opposing sides of the connector. The connector has either one of guide pins or guide pin receiving holes for guiding the connection with a second connector. The keys are movable between a first active position and a second retracted position, such that when one of the keys is in the first active position, the fibers are presented within the connector in a first polarity and when the second key is in the first active position, the fibers are presented within the connector in a second polarity reversed from the first polarity.
FIELD INSTALLED FIBER OPTIC CONNECTOR
The present disclosure relates to a field installable connector system. The connector system includes a factory terminated subassembly including a ferrule terminating an optical fiber of an optical fiber cable. The factory terminated subassembly has a small transverse cross-section to facilitate routing through a duct. The connector system also includes a field installable subassembly including various connector components that can be installed after the factory terminated subassembly has been routed through a duct. The components can be sealed and hardened.
OPTICAL INTERCONNECTION COMPONENT
The present invention relates to an optical interconnection component enabling implementation of optical fiber connection with higher accuracy than by the conventional technologies. The optical interconnection component is configured to maintain arrangement of end faces of a plurality of rotationally-aligned MCFs, so as to reduce connection loss to another component. Since arrangement of the MCFs can be confirmed by markers provided on a holding portion holding the plurality of MCFs inside, it becomes feasible to achieve the optical connection with higher accuracy.
Fiber optic adapter with integrally molded ferrule alignment structure
A fiber optic adapter is disclosed. The fiber optic adapter includes a main body configured to receive a first fiber optic connector through a first end and a second fiber optic connector through a second end for mating with the first fiber optic connector. The adapter includes a ferrule alignment structure located within an axial cavity of the main body, the ferrule alignment structure including a sleeve mount and a ferrule sleeve, the sleeve mount including an axial bore and at least one latching hook extending from a center portion of the sleeve mount toward the first end of the main body and at least one latching hook extending from the center portion toward the second end of the main body, the latching hooks configured to flex for releasably latching the first and second fiber optic connectors to the fiber optic adapter. The sleeve mount and the main body of the fiber optic adapter are unitarily molded as a single piece and the ferrule sleeve is separately placed within the axial bore of the sleeve mount.
OPTICAL FIBER ADAPTER
An optical fiber adapter includes a housing, a positioning member disposed in the housing, and a clip member removably disposed in the housing. The housing includes two outer walls each formed with slots, two side walls each connected between the outer walls, and latches extending from a corresponding one of the outer walls into a corresponding one of the slots. The clip member includes a base portion, two connection portions disposed on two opposite ends of the base portion, and two pairs of clip arm portions extending from the connection portions. Each connection portion has an engaging groove engaged with a respective one of the latches.
FIBER OPTIC ADAPTER
The fiber optic adapter may include a main body having a first end portion and a second end portion spaced apart along a length direction, the first end portion having at least a first port configured for receiving at least one ferrule, the second end portion having at least a second port configured for receiving a fiber optic connector; and a sleeve holder provided within the main body and between the first end portion and second end portion such that the first port is in communication with the second port to establish an optical connection. The first port has holding elements to define a receiving space to receive the ferrule, and the receiving space is configured to be expanded when inserting the at least one ferrule into the first port. The fiber optic adapter may receive a ferrule without the need of an outer housing or a spring.
