Light control member, method for producing light control member, light control body and vehicle
A light control member exhibits strong adhesion between an alignment layer and a bead spacer and includes: a first and second laminate with a substrate and an alignment layer, and which is arranged so that the alignment layer thereof faces the alignment layer of the first laminate; a liquid crystal layer between the first laminate and the second laminate, and the alignment is controlled by driving electrodes on at least one of the first laminate and the second laminate; and a plurality of bead spacers which are arranged within the liquid crystal layer. This light control member is also characterized in that: at least one of the alignment layer of the first laminate and the alignment layer of the second laminate has a plurality of projections that protrude toward the liquid crystal layer; and at least some of the bead spacers are held by the projections.
Photo-alignment composition and method of manufacturing a display panel using the same
A photo-alignment composition includes a compound comprising a repeat unit represented by Chemical Formula 1 and a solvent. The photo-alignment composition is coated on a first substrate and a second substrate facing the first substrate, thus forming alignment layers. A liquid crystal layer is formed between the first substrate and the second substrate. The photo-alignment composition includes a compound structure having a high decomposition rate and a functional group capable of a hydrogen bond, which is weaker than a covalent bond. Thus, a hardness of the alignment layer may be improved at a room temperature, and a hydrogen bonding functional group of the photo-alignment composition may be decomposed at a high temperature thus photo-aligning the alignment layer. Therefore, an afterimage of a screen may decrease, and a hardness of the alignment layer may increase.

The transflective liquid crystal display panel includes: a first substrate (1) and a second substrate (2) disposed oppositely and a liquid crystal layer (3) between the first substrate (1) and the second substrate (2). The first substrate (1) and the second substrate (2) include transmissive areas and reflective areas. Transmissive areas of the first substrate (1) are provided with a first homogenous alignment layer (11), transmissive areas of the second substrate (2) are provided with a second homogenous alignment layer (21), and the alignment direction of the first homogenous alignment layer (11) and the alignment direction of the second homogenous alignment layer (21) have a predetermined angle. Reflective areas of the first substrate (1) are provided with a third homogenous alignment layer (12) and reflective areas of the second substrate (2) are provided with a homeotropic alignment layer (22). This can realize a transflective liquid crystal display panel with simple structure.
