Method and apparatus for cushioning at least one object in a container
A device (30) is used to cushion at least one object (12a) in a container (10a). According to the invention, the device comprises: an automatic reading device (32) for reading an item of information which is present on the container (10a) and relates to a predetermined amount of cushioning material (28a-c) for a predefined combination of container (10a) and object (12a); a cushioning material provisioning device (38) for providing cushioning material (28a-c); and a control device (36) which receives a signal, based on the item of read information, from the automatic reading device (32) and initiates supply of the corresponding cushioning material (28a-c).
DATA WRITING DEVICE
A data writing device includes a roller configured to convey a label including a radio tag along a predetermined path, a reader/writer configured to wirelessly communicate with the radio tag, and a controller configured to control the roller to convey the label and control the reader/writer to acquire a plurality of radio wave intensities from the radio tag at different positions along the predetermined path as the label is conveyed, and determine one of the different positions along the predetermined path at which the radio wave intensities are equal to or greater than a threshold value as a writing position for the radio tag.
BAGGAGE RECORDING SYSTEM
An airport baggage recording system. The airport baggage recording system comprises a telescopic robotic arm that loads airport baggage. The robotic arm has one end connected to an upright by a pivot and a second end connected to a disc. A radio frequency identification (RFID) reader is located in the disc that reads RFID tags on the airport baggage when the airport baggage is placed on the disc during loading. Another RFID reader is located on the pivot that reads the RFID tags on the airport baggage when the airport baggage is placed on the disc during loading. The RFID reader in the disc and the RFID reader on the pivot both read the RFID tags on the airport baggage to prevent errors in reading the RFID tags on the airport baggage during loading.
RFID system
An RFID system includes an RFID tag having a first magnetic field antenna, an article housing the RFID tag in a random direction, a conveying path conveying the article, and a reader/writer having a second magnetic field antenna communicating with the first magnetic field antenna through a magnetic field coupling and disposed along the conveying path. While the conveying path conveys the RFID tag such that an opening plane of the second magnetic field antenna and the RFID tag face each other, the second magnetic field antenna emits a magnetic flux. Moreover, a distance between the RFID tag and the second magnetic field antenna in a normal direction of the second magnetic field antenna is smaller than an opening diameter of the second magnetic field antenna.
SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR MONITORING LOADING OF CARGO ONTO A TRANSPORT VEHICLE
Systems and methods monitor loading of cargo onto a transport vehicle to avoid incorrect cargo loading incidents. A wireless monitoring device positioned near an access port of a cargo hold of the transport vehicle receives a tracking identifier of a wireless tracking tag attached to a logistic container containing the cargo as the logistic container is conveyed into the cargo hold. An alert is generated by the wireless monitoring device when the tracking identifier is not listed in a manifest listing identifiers of wireless tracking tags attached to logistic containers expected to be loaded into the cargo hold. Within the cargo hold, the wireless tracking tags may also exchange their tracking identifiers such that any one of the wireless tracking tags may determine, by counting, when less than a target threshold number of wireless tracking tags are present.
ASSIGNING AN IDENTIFYING ELEMENT TO A BALE
A bale identification assembly for use with an agricultural baler (18) includes a first supply roll mounted on the baler providing a binding material (52) used by the knotter system to bind the formed bale, the binding material (52) on the first supply roll comprising identification tags (62) at spaced intervals along the binding material. The bale identification assembly includes a second supply roll mounted on the baler (18) providing a binding material without identification tags, wherein the knotter system combines the binding material with identification tags (62) from the first supply roll with the binding material without identification tags from the second supply roll to bind the formed bale. The bale identification assembly includes a read module with one or more antennas configured to transmit interrogator signals and also receive authentication replies from the identification tags (62).
Bale identification assembly for binding an identification tag to a bale of agricultural crop material
A bale identification assembly includes binding material used by a knotter system to bind a formed bale, the binding material including identification tags at spaced intervals along the binding material. A read module transmits interrogator signals and also receives authentication replies from the identification tags. A position sensor is used to predict passage of identification tags through the knotter mechanism and a bale length sensor provides a signal representing bale length. A controller receives signals from the bale length sensor and the position sensor and generates a signal to alter the length of the bale by causing an additional flake to be added to the bale by the plunger or the bale to be finished with fewer flakes to prevent the knotter system from tying a knot in the binding material such that the identification tag is positioned in a portion of the binding material used to form the knot.
Medication Container Encoding, Verification, and Identification
A medication container encoding, verification and identification method is provided that includes receiving data characterizing a medication, generating an identifier encapsulating the data and applying an identifier to a medication container such that it is automatically readable by a medication device. Related apparatus, systems, methods and articles are also described.
RFID-based item presence detection
An RFID-based item tracking system may use statistical methods to determine whether a tag or tagged item that does not respond when inventoried is present in a particular zone or reader antenna field-of-view. In one embodiment, the item tracking system may determine an observability of an item based on one or more initial trials. Upon not detecting the item in one or more subsequent trials, the item tracking system may estimate whether the item is still present based on the observability.
Systems and methods for identifying package properties in an automated industrial robotics system
A package scanning conveyance system that integrates a first two-dimensional image with at least a second two-dimensional image or a three-dimensional point clouds to calculate or estimate a package's physical properties, and/or determine if there are two or more packages in a pile. The captured imaging data is transformed by the inventive system to provide real-time feedback to a human operator to enable the operator to maintain an understanding of the system's performance. The imaging data may also be used to perform quality-checks on other parts of the package delivery and conveyance systems and document the condition of packages that have passed through the system.
