A system, method and apparatus for detecting the presence of a person in an area monitored by an electronic person detector that may operate both as a security motion sensor and a home automation occupancy sensor.

A system for situational awareness monitoring within an environment, wherein the system includes one or more processing devices configured to receive an image stream including a plurality of captured images from each of a plurality of imaging devices, the plurality of imaging devices being configured to capture images of objects within the environment and at least some of the imaging devices being positioned within the environment to have at least partially overlapping fields of view, identify overlapping images in the different image streams, the overlapping images being images captured by imaging devices having overlapping fields of view, analyse the overlapping images to determine object locations within the environment, analyse changes in the object locations over time to determine object movements within the environment, compare the object movements to situational awareness rules and use results of the comparison to identify situational awareness events.

A system provides a transformed video stream from, a publicly or privately owned and operated camera bearing on an in-scope location vicinity, to, a responding emergency service agency (ESA). A request from an emergency services agent's display terminal includes location indicia and elicits a map of cameras bearing on the location vicinity as well as other display terminals in the area. Upon request, an application programming interface enables a video stream to comply with the privacy and access settings of the camera owner/operators. A plurality of private and public security surveillance cameras is coupled to a server. Exterior/street view video images are streamed to the server which may contact an owner for emergency access. An emergency agency vehicle at a location has a display for a selected gallery of obfuscated exterior/street views from cooperative networks of public and private security cameras bearing on the vicinity of an incident.

A system and method for replaying a security video at the time of a fraudulent incident at a point-of-sale checkout terminal is presented. The video playback takes place in real-time, when the event occurs, allowing personnel to take appropriate measures, corrective or otherwise, to deal with the event. Examples of such events may include when a weight-based security alert is triggered at a self-checkout, when a cashier or customer has missed scanning an item at the checkout, or other possible events where rapid replay of relevant video is required.

Methods and systems provided. A system may include at least one camera at a camera location, wherein the at least one camera is configured to record one or more videos and one or more images. The system may further include a server. The server may be configure to download at least one image of the one or more images captured at the camera location. The server may also be configured to display the one or more downloaded images. Further, the server may also be configured to, in response to a user selecting a displayed image of the one or more displayed images, download a specific portion of the previously recorded one or more videos captured at the camera location.

The present application describes a system and method for extending a range of an image detection and classification system that is associated with various image capture devices. The range of the image detection and classification system is extended using one or more of an optical zoom on an area of interest, a digital zoom on the area of interest and a crop operation on the area of interest.

An apparatus including an interface and a processor. The interface may be configured to receive pixel data generated by a capture device. The processor may be configured to generate video frames in response to the pixel data, perform computer vision operations on the video frames to detect objects, perform a classification of the objects detected based on characteristics of the objects, determine whether the classification of the objects corresponds to a user-defined event and a user-defined identity and generate encoded video frames from the video frames. The encoded video frames may comprise a first sample of the video frames selected at a first rate when the user-defined event is not detected and a second sample of the video frames selected at a second rate while the user-defined event is detected. The video frames comprising the user-defined identity without a second person may be excluded from the encoded video frames.

A system for situational awareness monitoring within an environment, wherein the system includes one or more processing devices configured to receive an image stream including a plurality of captured images from each of a plurality of imaging devices, the plurality of imaging devices being configured to capture images of objects within the environment and at least some of the imaging devices being positioned within the environment to have at least partially overlapping fields of view, identify overlapping images in the different image streams, the overlapping images being images captured by imaging devices having overlapping fields of view, analyse the overlapping images to determine object locations within the environment, analyse changes in the object locations over time to determine object movements within the environment, compare the object movements to situational awareness rules and use results of the comparison to identify situational awareness events.

A method of controlling an on-screen display (OSD) protocol in a device includes: receiving analysis data of a video image from an apparatus capable of at least one of wired and wireless communication; displaying the video image and analysis data of the video image on a display of the device; determining whether to record the analysis data of the video image in a persistent storage device to be retained after the device reboots or in a temporary storage device to be erased after the device reboots; and storing the analysis data of the video image in one of the persistent storage device and the temporary storage device according to the determination.

A drive recorder operation system includes a drive recorder and an operation server. The drive recorder generates index information respectively corresponding to a plurality of video files, sends the index information to the operation server, and prohibits a video file from being overwritten based on an overwrite prohibition command from the operation server. The operation server receives an instruction designating index information and sends an overwrite prohibition command including the designated index information to the drive recorder.
