System and method for migrating an agent server to an agent client device
In a network of mobile agents, data integrity can be improved by providing an agent server that can migrate between devices operating in the region of interest (ROI). The agent server distributes agent clients onto devices in the ROI and provides agent server services to the agent clients, including receiving and storing data from the agents. When the agent server device is to leave the ROI, the agent server can migrate to any device executing an agent client and continue to provide the agent server services, including data collection and aggregation, from the device to which the agent server has migrated.
Migration and cutover based on events in a replication stream
A framework for migrating a customer tenancy from a first identity and access management (TAM) system to a second IAM system. A first snapshot of the customer tenancy is obtained from a first data storage. The first snapshot is processed and migrated to the second IAM system. A second snapshot of the customer tenancy is obtained from a second data storage and migrated to the second IAM system. A state of a lock associated with the second data storage is modified, where after a third snapshot of the customer tenancy is obtained from the second data storage and migrated to the second IAM system. Responsive to the third snapshot being migrated, directing a request regarding the customer tenancy to the second IAM system.
Automatic serial order starting of resource groups on failover systems based on resource group usage prediction
A method for automatically prioritizing startup of resource groups during a migration event. The method may include monitoring resource usage of a first and a second set of applications associated, respectively, with a first and a second resource group executing on a first computing node. The method may additionally include generating respective first and second resource usage models for the first and second resource groups based on resource usage. The method may then include extrapolating, based on the first and second resource usage models, respective first and second resource group usage scores for the first and second resource groups at a second time in response to a migration event, the second time occurring subsequent to the first time. The method may further include determining, based on the extrapolating, a priority order for serially starting the first and second set of applications on a second computing node at the second time.
METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR LIVE-MIGRATING VIRTUAL MACHINES
An implementation of a method for live-migrating virtual machines includes: acquiring, when receiving a request for live-migrating a virtual machine to a target physical machine, CPU information of a source physical machine and CPU information of the target physical machine; determining whether a CPU instruction set architecture of the source physical machine is compatible with a CPU instruction set architecture of the target physical machine; determining whether CPU features of the source physical machine are compatible with CPU features of the target physical machine, if the two CPU instruction set architecture are compatible; determining whether incompatible CPU features between the source physical machine and the target physical machine are in a preset list, if the two CPU instruction set architecture are not compatible; and live-migrating the virtual machine from the source physical machine to the target physical machine, in response to determining that the incompatible CPU features are in the preset list.
LIVE MIGRATION OF CONTAINERS BASED ON GEO-LOCATION
Embodiments of the present invention provide methods, systems, and computer program products for container communication. In an embodiment, it is determined whether a message is going to a container on a same machine or to a container on a machine at a geographically different location. If it is determined that the message is going to a container on a machine at a geographically different location, then it is determined whether a predetermined threshold has been reached. If it is determined that the predetermined threshold has been reached, then the container from a first machine is migrated to the container on the container on the machine at the geographically different location. A data tracking structure is used to visually represent the migration of containers to other machines.
APPARATUS, SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR PROXY COUPLING MANAGEMENT
An apparatus, system, and method are disclosed for proxy coupling management. A proxy template module transparently offloads a task from a native data processing system to an equivalent task on a remote data processing system. A proxy generation module fills in the proxy template with information, such as specification of an offload task that is a remote equivalent of the native task, to generate a proxy of the native task. An offload agent module receives a request from the proxy to perform the offload task on the remote data processing system.
In-call experience enhancement for assistant systems
In one embodiment, a method includes establishing a video call between a plurality of client systems, wherein access to an assistant system is persistently maintained during the video call, receiving, from a first client system of the plurality of client systems, a request by a first user to be performed by the assistant system during the video call, wherein the request references one or more activities associated with one or more users associated with the plurality of client systems, analyzing, by a context engine of the assistant system, images of a scene of the video call to identify the one or more activities within the scene, instructing the assistant system to execute the request based on the identified one or more activities, and sending, to one or more of the plurality of client systems, a response to the request while maintaining the video call between the plurality of client systems.
Technologies for providing attestation of function as a service flavors
Technologies for providing attestation for function as a service flavors include a compute device including circuitry configured to obtain function definition data indicative of a set of operations to be performed in a function and a set of hardware resources to be utilized by the function, execute a benchmark operation to produce benchmark data indicative of a measured performance of the function, and sign the function definition data and the benchmark data to produce function flavor data. The circuitry is also configured to provide the function flavor data to one or more other compute devices for validation that the function, when executed on the hardware resources, provides the measured performance and write, to a distributed ledger, the function flavor data.

Migration of a logical partition or virtual machine with inactive input/output hosting server
Embodiments disclose techniques for migrating a logical partition from a source computing system with an inactive I/O server to another target computing system. In one embodiment, a computing system collects and stores the resource configuration of the logical partition, upon detecting a change in a resource configuration of a logical partition on the source computing system. Once the computing system detects that a I/O server on the source computing system is inactive for a migration of the logical partition, the computing system uses the collected resource configuration to configure the logical partition on the target computing system.
