ARRANGEMENT AND METHOD FOR SWITCHING HIGH VOLTAGES HAVING A SWITCHING DEVICE AND PRECISELY ONE RESISTOR STACK
An arrangement and a method have precisely one resistor stack for switching high voltages. The arrangement contains a switching device that has two contact devices, which are arranged in an insulator. The contact devices are separated from each other by a separation path, wherein the separation path can be bridged by a movable contact piece. One contact device is in contact with the resistor stack in a common housing. The common housing is formed by a direct coating of the resistor stack and the insulator.
MOUNTING ASSEMBLY AND SWITCHING SYSTEM WITH UNIVERSAL MOUNTING SYSTEM
A switching apparatus includes: a body including: a sidewall that extends from a first end to a second end, the sidewall defining an interior space; and a plurality of electrically insulating sheds that extend radially outward from an exterior surface of the sidewall; a circuit interrupter in the interior space of the body; a first terminal electrically connected to the circuit interrupter;
and a second terminal electrically connected to the circuit interrupter. The switching apparatus is configured to be mechanically connected to at least two different types of mounting structures.
Mountable electrical system
A system for an electrical power distribution network includes a plurality of electrical apparatuses, each electrical apparatus including a mechanical connection and at least one electrical connector; and a single-piece unitary support configured to receive and hold the plurality of electrical apparatuses, the support including: a frame including a plurality of mechanical interfaces, each of the mechanical interfaces configured to receive and hold a mechanical connection of one of the plurality of electrical apparatus; a cover extending from a side of the frame; and a panel integrated with the frame, the panel including a plurality of electrical interfaces, each of the plurality of electrical interfaces configured to couple to an electrical connector of one of the electrical apparatuses, the cover positioned over the panel.
Input impedance management and leakage current detection
A system for an electrical power distribution network includes an electrical apparatus configured to monitor or control one or more aspects of the electrical power distribution network, the electrical apparatus including a contact switch configured to open and close. The system also includes an input apparatus. The input apparatus includes an impedance module; and an input interface electrically connected to the impedance module and to the contact switch of the electrical apparatus. The input interface is configured to have one of a plurality of input impedances, the plurality of input impedances include at least a first input impedance and a second input impedance that is lower than the first input impedance, and the input interface has the second input impedance when the contact switch of the electrical apparatus is open. The input apparatus may include a plurality of leakage current detection modules.
Power outage isolation device
This disclosure relates generally to power isolation switch devices. In one embodiment, a power isolation switch device has a power insulator, an arc breaker, and a switch. The power insulator and the switch are connected in parallel. The arc contact is operably associated with the switch such that the arc contact is removed from the arc chute as the switch is opened and is inserted to contact the arc chute when the switch is closed. In this manner, the power isolation switch device does not need an interrupter and can be provided so as to be less bulky.
GUIDING PULL RING
A guiding pull ring member for guiding a unit top contact in a switch assembly into a mounting contact. The guide ring member includes a mounting ring defined in a first plane, a grasping ring coupled to one side of the mounting ring and being defined in a second plane perpendicular to the first plane, and a V-shaped guide piece coupled to the mounting ring at a side opposite from the grasping ring and extending perpendicular to the first plane. The guiding pull ring member has particular application for a solenoid operated vacuum interrupter recloser switch mounted to a utility pole.
Dropout Recloser
A dropout recloser is capable of in accordance with its operating programming after a predetermined number of fault interrupting operations, e.g., 1, 2, 3 or more but typically 3, to drop out of a cutout and hang freely in a hinge contact of the cutout providing sectionalization with an observable visible gap. The recloser includes fault interrupting and reclosing components, a drop out mechanism and a controller. The drop out mechanism may include a bi-stable actuator to affect fault interrupting operation and dropout operation. The device may include motion limiting structures. The recloser may have a number of operating modes or sequences.
