Electronic device and method of manufacturing the same

An electronic device is provided here, which includes a casing, a keycap and a keyboard backlight module. The casing has a first opening. The keycap is disposed corresponding to the first opening, and a gap is formed between the keycap and a periphery of the first opening. The keyboard backlight module includes a shielding layer, the shielding layer includes a light transmission area corresponding to the first opening and a light block portion, and the light block portion is located in the light transmission area and covers a region where at least one light path passes through the gap and intersects the light transmission area through.

Electrical key support membrane

Keyboards and other input devices are provided with membranes that extend under the keycaps or buttons. The membranes are flexible and can support conductive structures, traces, and electrical switch connections to enable effective key switches, lighting, and fluid-tightness for the keyboard. The flexible membrane is positioned near the keycaps to prevent ingress of fluids and debris into the lower portions of the key assemblies. In some cases, the flexible membrane also provides support for an interstitial layer that extends between keycaps.

A keyboard device includes a membrane circuit board and a key structure over the membrane circuit board. The key structure includes a keycap, a plunger structure, a key pedestal and an elastic element. The plunger structure is arranged between the keycap and the elastic element. At least a portion of the keycap is disposed within a pedestal dust-storage chamber of the key pedestal. At least a portion of the plunger structure is disposed within a guiding chamber of the key pedestal. Due to the relative location between the keycap, the plunger structure and the key pedestal, the path of the dust to enter the guiding chamber is extended or blocked. Consequently, the dust-proof efficacy is enhanced.

Illuminated device enclosure with dynamic trackpad comprising translucent layers with light emitting elements

Embodiments are directed to an electronic device having an illuminated body that defines a virtual or dynamic trackpad. The electronic device includes a translucent layer defining a keyboard region and a dynamic input region along an external surface. A keyboard may be. positioned within the keyboard region and including a key surface and a switch element (e.g., to detect a keypress). A light control layer positioned below the translucent layer and within the dynamic input region may have a group of illuminable features. The electronic device may also include a group of light-emitting elements positioned below the optical diffuser. One or more of the light control layer or the group of light-emitting elements may be configured to illuminate the dynamic input region to display a visible boundary of an active input area. At least one of a size or a position of the visible boundary may be dynamically variable.

A keyswitch support connection structure is a combined structure which includes a structural plate and a joining portion. The joining portion and the structural plate are firmly engaged with each other through a joining structure of the structural plate. The joining structure includes at least one of a protruding portion, a through hole, a side hole, a joining hole, a cantilever plate, and a protruding bridge portion. The joining portion includes at least one hook arm, configured to forma support connection portion. A keyswitch structure includes a base, a keycap above the base, two keyswitch supports connected to and between the base and the keycap, and the keyswitch support connection structure structurally integrated into the base or the keycap. The keycap is vertically movable relative to the base through the two keyswitch supports. One of the two keyswitch supports is connected to the support connection portion.

A key structure includes a keycap, a base plate, a first scissors-type connecting element, a second scissors-type connecting element and a reinforced connecting rod. The first and second scissors-type connecting elements are arranged between the keycap and the base plate. The first scissors-type connecting element includes a first inner frame and a first outer frame. The second scissors-type connecting element includes a second inner frame and a second outer frame. The keycap is movable upwardly or downwardly relative to the base plate along a specified path with the assistance of the first and second scissors-type connecting elements. The reinforced connecting rod includes a hollow rectangular main body. The first outer frame has a first extension structure. The second outer frame has a second extension structure. Moreover, two opposite sides of the hollow rectangular main body are respectively received within the first extension structure and the second extension structure.

Keyswitch structure and keyboard

A keyswitch structure includes a base, a cap disposed corresponding to the base, a restoring member disposed between the base and the cap, and a tactile adjustment unit. The cap has a cam portion movable relative to the base. The restoring member is configured to provide a restoring force to enable the cam portion to move away from the base. The tactile adjustment unit is disposed corresponding to the cam portion and includes a holder and a tactile feedback member mounted on the holder. The holder is movable relative to the base to change a position of the tactile feedback member relative to the cam portion, so as to change a pressing force required for the cam portion to move toward the base.

Key switch device

A key switch device includes a base, a button mounted on the base so as to be contactable and separable, an elastic body disposed between the base and the button and configured to urge the button in a direction away from the base, and a linear reinforcement member provided on the button and configured to prevent the button from being inclined when the button is operated in a direction toward the base. An outer surface portion of the button includes a recessed support portion in which a part of the linear reinforcement members is disposed.

Keyboard device

A keyboard device includes a base plate, a membrane circuit board and a key. The key includes a keycap, a connecting assembly, a first stabilizer bar and a second stabilizer bar. The connecting assembly is connected between the keycap and the base plate. The first stabilizer bar and the second stabilizer bar are connected between the keycap and the connecting assembly. While the keycap is moved upwardly or downwardly relative to the base plate, the first stabilizer bar and the second stabilizer bar are swung to stabilize the key. Since the first stabilizer bar and the second stabilizer bar are connected between the keycap and the connecting assembly, the first stabilizer bar and the second stabilizer bar will not readily collide with or knock on the base plate. During the operation, the generated noise is reduced. Consequently, the operating comfort to the user is enhanced.
