Method of controlling an appliance door position switch for sabbath mode operation

An appliance includes a position switch retention device for use with an appliance including a body defining a generally cylindrical profile extending through a first portion thereof along an axis and having a first radius. The body further defines a pin-receiving channel open on at least a first end thereof and positioned within the generally cylindrical profile. The device further includes a first tab extending from a side of the body. The tab defines a ramp and an edge with the ramp extending away from the first end of the body to the edge. A cap extends outwardly from a second end of the body opposite the first end. The cap is spaced apart from the edge of the tab at a first distance and has a second radius greater than the first radius.

Lockout-tagout systems and methods

A transfer switch including a lockout-tagout assembly and lockout-tagout method are provided. An example method includes a latch of a transfer switch actuating a first switch, wherein actuating the first switch sends an inhibit signal to an electronic controller of the transfer switch. The example method further includes the latch actuating a second switch, wherein actuating the second switch opens operator cutoff thereby preventing function of an operator assembly of the transfer switch. Still further, the example method includes, after the latch actuating the first switch and the second switch, locking the latch so as to mechanically prevent the source contact from closing.

CONTROLLABLE TRIPOUT FOR AN ELECTRICAL CIRCUIT BREAKER

A controllable trip device includes a magnetic actuator, including a coupling member intended to be coupled to a switching mechanism of an electrical circuit breaker to cause the switching thereof and a coil configured to displace the coupling member towards a tripped position when it is supplied with a pulse of a current of intensity greater than a first predefined threshold for a duration greater than or equal to a predefined duration, a control device, configured to supply the coil, immediately on receipt of a control signal, with a series of pulses of duration equal to the predefined duration and of intensity greater than or equal to the first threshold and less than or equal to a second threshold equal at most to 120% of the first threshold.

DUAL-STROKE SAFETY SWITCH OF WASHING MACHINE AND ECCENTRICITY CONTROL METHOD

A dual-stroke safety switch of a washing machine has a control switch mounted in a base, and a control rod movably connected to the base. The control switch comprises a first control switch and a second switch. The control rod has two motion strokes respectively for controlling the switch-off of the first control switch and the second switch, and the motion stroke for the switch-off of the first control switch is less than the motion stroke for the switch-off of the second control switch. The different strokes of the control rod substantially reflect different degrees of eccentricity of a water tub. The switch-off of the first control switch indicates that small eccentricity of the water tub takes place, and the switch-off of the second control switch indicates that there is serious eccentricity.

An off-stop mechanism for a circuit breaker. Off-stop mechanism includes a handle moveable to an OFF configuration, the handle including a blocking engagement portion, a blocking member pivotally coupled at a pivot location, a linkage coupled between a cross bar housing and a linkage attachment location of the blocking member, the linkage being configured to: position the blocking member in an unblocked orientation when the main contacts are not fused together, and in a blocked orientation when the main contacts are fused together, wherein blocking member in the blocked orientation engages the blocking engagement portion as the operating handle is moved to the OFF configuration wherein the engagement places the blocking member in compression between the pivot location and the blocking contact portion. Circuit breakers including the off-stop mechanism and methods of operating a circuit breaker are also provided, as are other aspects.
