HIV-1 ENV FUSION PEPTIDE IMMUNOGENS AND THEIR USE

Embodiments of immunogens based on the HIV-1 Env fusion peptide and methods of their use and production are disclosed. Nucleic acid molecules encoding the immunogens are also provided. In several embodiments, the immunogens can be used to generate an immune response to HIV-1 Env in a subject, for example, to treat or prevent an HIV-1 infection in the subject.

This invention is directed to vaccine compositions and methods of using the same to prevent infection.

DNA-peptide combination vaccine

The present invention provides a combination preparation for inducing a specific immune response to an antigenic peptide, which contains (I) the antigenic peptide, and (II) an expression vector encoding a chimeric hepatitis B virus core antigen polypeptide, into which the antigenic peptide has been inserted or added, wherein said antigenic peptide is inserted in a region of amino acid residues 74-87 or 130-138 of the hepatitis B virus core antigen polypeptide, or added to the N-terminal or C-terminal of the hepatitis B virus core antigen polypeptide, wherein the antigenic peptide of (I) and the expression vector of (II) are substantially simultaneously administered to a subject.

Pregabalin immunoassays

Compounds and methods for use in detecting pregabalin in a sample suspected of containing pregabalin are disclosed. Pregabalin derivatives are described for producing pregabalin conjugates. A pregabalin-immunogenic carrier conjugate may be used as an immunogen for the preparation of an anti-pregabalin antibody. A pregabalin-detectable label conjugate may be used in a signal producing system in pregabalin assays.

Proteins and nucleic acids useful in vaccines targeting staphylococcus aureus

Disclosed are novel immunogenic proteins derived from Staphylococcus aureus, as well as methods for their use in conferring protective immunity against S. aureus infections. Also disclosed are nucleic acids encoding the proteins and methods of use of these nucleic acids.

MODIFIED VSV-G AND VACCINES THEREOF

A modified vesicular stomatitis virus glycoprotein (VSV-G) that includes at least one peptide, preferably an antigen or fragment thereof, nucleic acid sequence coding therefor, and vectors containing the nucleic acid sequence. Also vaccines and methods for the treatment of a disease or condition, in particular a cancer or an infectious disease.

Treatment of alzheimer'S disease (AD) with an aluminum salt

Disclosed is a method for the treatment of AD, wherein an immune stimulating pharmaceutical composition comprising an aluminium salt is administered to a patient having AD or having a risk to develop AD in an effective amount.

CONJUGATED AFLATOXIN B TO PROTECT AGAINST MYCOTOXICOSIS

The present invention pertains to the use of conjugated aflatoxin (AFB) in a method to protect an animal against AFB induced mycotoxicosis, in particular to protect against a decrease in average daily weight gain, immune suppression, icterus, hemorrhagic enteritis as a result of the ingestion of AFB.
