SYSTEMS AND METHODS USING ELECTRICAL RECEPTACLES FOR INTEGRATED POWER CONTROL, COMMUNICATION AND MONITORING
20170324195 · 2017-11-09 ·

An electrical receptacle contains contacts, at least one contact for electrical connection to a hot power line and at least one contact for a neutral power line. A controlled switch, such as a TRIAC, is connected in series relationship between the contact and the hot power line. One or more sensors are provided which detect signals of the hot power line and/or the neutral power line. The processor provides activation or deactivation control to the controlled switch in response to the detected signals that are indicative of conditions relative to the first and second contacts.

A family of wall-mounted electrical fixtures, both for lighting control and electrical power or signal delivery, having a modular design. Said modular design predominately isolating those components that are directly connected to in-wall wiring within a wall-mounted base and low-voltage control and communication components, such as sensors, user-interface elements, programmable logic and wireless communication modules, within an aesthetically-appealing, easily-detachable faceplate assembly.

Managed connectivity in electrical systems and methods thereof

An electrical connector arrangement includes a storage device coupled to a connector housing. The storage device is configured to store physical layer information pertaining to the electrical connector arrangement. The storage device also has contacts that enable the physical layer information to be read from the storage device by a media reading interface. A connector assembly includes at least one receptacle assembly; a printed circuit board; and a media reading interface.

Bracket assembly for reinforcing connectors on printed circuit boards
09768569 · 2017-09-19 · ·

This document describes a bracket assembly for reinforcing connectors on printed circuit boards. In some aspects, an apparatus is described that includes a device chassis with a stopper feature, a printed circuit board (PCB) attached to the device chassis, and an extended connector assembly mounted to the PCB. The extended connector assembly includes a connector and a connector reinforcing bracket. The connector reinforcing bracket increases a length of the connector to reduce the magnitude of a bending moment induced in the PCB by a connector insertion force. The connector reinforcing bracket also limits deformation of the PCB caused by the connector insertion force.
