Aerial cable spacer insulator

A cable spacer includes first and second angle arms each having a cable engaging end at one end and a flat tab portion at an opposite end having a connecting tab and an aperture to connect the arms to each other. An insulator extends between and connects the angle arms at their respective connecting tabs. The insulator has a non-conductive core. The angle arms and insulator mounted to each other define a spacer plane. A bottom arm is mounted to and depends from insulator. The bottom arm is mounted to the insulator to sway into and out of the spacer plane. A clamp secures the cable spacer to a messenger and includes upper and lower clamp portions. The upper clamp portion mounts to the messenger and the lower clamp portion mounts to cable spacer angle arms. The lower clamp portion is rotatable relative to the upper clamp portion.

Devices, systems, and methods are provided for compact transmission lines structure. A compact transmission lines structure may comprise a first subsystem of a pole and a crossarm, wherein the crossarm is stacked above the pole, wherein the crossarm comprises a cantilever end situated away from the pole. The compact transmission lines structure may comprise a second subsystem connected to the cantilever end. The second subsystem comprising a first diamond-shaped insulator assembly supporting a first single three-phase transmission line. The compact transmission lines structure may comprise a third subsystem connected to the cantilever end, the third subsystem comprising a second diamond-shaped insulator assembly supporting a second single three-phase transmission line, wherein the second diamond-shaped insulator assembly mirrors the first diamond-shaped insulator assembly. The compact transmission lines structure may comprise at least two shield wires configured to provide lightning protection.

System, method and apparatus for positioning and training flexible jumpers

The present invention includes a flexible jumper jig which is reconfigurable to replicate the end positions of a flexible jumper as it would be on an installed substation. According to a further preferred embodiment, an exemplary system of the present invention may include a framework forming three orthogonal axes and repositionable tooling mounts for end fittings. According to another aspect of the present invention, an x-axis oriented rail may preferably hold a tooling mount which is configurable to be rotated about its axis to allow for alternate tooling mount orientations. Further, a y-axis oriented rail may be perpendicular to the x-axis rail and may be fixed. Still further, a z-axis oriented rail may be perpendicular to and slide along the y-axis rail. Additionally, a second tooling mount may be attached to the z-axis rail.

Installation tool for tie tubes

An attachment tool for attaching a tie tube to a wire includes a body and a first engagement portion extending away from the body. The first engagement portion releasably engages a first end of the tie tube for attachment of the first end of the tie tube to the wire. A second engagement portion extends away from the body and releasably engages a second end of the tie tube for attachment of the second end of the tie tube to the wire after attachment of the first end of the tie tube to the wire. A coupling structure is connected to the body, the coupling structure coupling to a hot stick.

Cross arm and angle tower and tension tower comprising the same

Provided is a cross arm with one end connected to a tower body and a free end for connecting a conducting wire. Free end comprises an end connecting piece and an extension piece. Extension piece is fixed with end connecting piece. Extension piece protrudes horizontally from end connecting piece. Conducting wire is connected to extension piece. An angle between extension piece and a cross arm center line is greater than that between conducting wire and cross arm center line. Cross arm free end includes a jumper wire device horizontally arranged on end connecting piece for hitching jumper wire. Extension piece use increases distance between conducting wire and tower body when turning angle condition is met. Gap requirement between conducting wire and tower body is met, and cross arm length increase is eliminated. Horizontally arranging jumper wire device on end connecting piece reduces distance between wire layers and tower body size.
