Communication enabled circuit breakers
Communication enabled circuit breakers are described. Methods associated with such communication enabled circuit breakers are also described. The communication enabled circuit breakers may include one or more current sensors. The one or more current sensors may be disposed in a clip. The clip may be coupled to a line side phase connection, and the clip may be shielded to attenuate signals.
Charging protection method, terminal, and charger
A terminal obtains a parameter from a charger, including at least one of an input voltage value and an output current value of the charger and a temperature value of a charging output port of the charger. When a parameter value is greater than a threshold, the terminal terminates a charging process based on a relationship between a corresponding threshold and at least one of a difference between the output current value of the charger and an input current value of the terminal, a power loss from the charger to the terminal, and a temperature value.
Communication enabled circuit breakers
Wireless communication enabled circuit breakers are described. Methods associated with such wireless communication enabled circuit breakers are also described. The wireless communication enabled circuit breakers may controlled by a remote entity. The remote entity may wirelessly case the wireless communication enabled circuit breakers to trip.
Communication terminal for hot-swap controllers
A hot-swap controller regulates the supply of power from an input node to a load coupled to an output node. The controller includes at least one limiting circuit configured to control a first switch connected between the input node and the load to limit an output current of the first switch for application to the load. A control logic circuit determines a state of the first switch and outputs a local state signal, and a communication circuit responsive to the local state signal establishes a voltage or current level corresponding to the local state at a communication circuit output. A communication terminal is also provided that is responsive to the communication output and that is adapted to connect to a second communication terminal of a second hot-swap controller to communicate the local state to the second hot-swap controller.
Smart earth leakage circuit breaker
A smart earth leakage circuit breaker is installed on a distribution line through which an electric current flows. The breaker measures, by means of a CT, a leakage current flowing through the distribution line, and if the measured current exceeds a preset rated sensitivity current, cuts off electricity by means of trip operation. The smart earth leakage circuit breaker further comprises: a measurement unit tracking and measuring, based on measurement information of the CT, a value of the leakage current exceeding an alarm current value; the MPU setting conditionality and the alarm current value less than the rated sensitivity current and when the conditionality is satisfied based on information measured by the measurement unit, issuing a warning by means of an alarm unit; and the alarm unit operated and controlled by the MPU and warning of an abnormal symptom of the distribution line.
CIRCUIT BREAKERS WITH NOTIFICATION AND REPORTING CAPABILITY
A method of monitoring electrical faults includes processing features of signals output by sensors of a circuit breaker about electrical properties of a circuit coupled with a load and transitioning between states of operation based on the processed features. The states include a normal state, a fault state, and a trip state, wherein the state remains in the normal state until the processed features no longer satisfy normal criteria, after which the state transitions to the fault state, wherein the state transitions back to the normal state when a trip condition is not satisfied, and transitions from the fault state to the trip state when the trip condition is satisfied. The method further includes detecting a warning event when the state transitions from the normal state to the fault state and back to the normal state and outputting a warning event notification upon detection of the warning event.
ISOLATION OF PROTECTION FUNCTIONS IN ELECTRICAL POWER SYSTEMS DURING STARTUP
Systems, devices, and methods include protection functions in an electrical power system. For example, a processing subsystem may include a processor. A memory subsystem may comprise a first memory section and a second memory section. A memory management subsystem may enable memory access only between the processor and only the first memory section to initialize the at least one protection function and, after initialization of the at least one protection function, enable memory access between the processor and the second memory section. Such a configuration may enable the protection functions as fast as possible without waiting for the functions of lesser criticality to be fully loaded and become operational.
Transformer internal fault reclose block
A fault detection system that that prevents a recloser from reclosing if a fault is determined to be internal to a transformer, where the recloser is configured to perform a reclosing operation in response to detecting overcurrent. The recloser includes a sensor, such as a light sensor, directed towards the transformer and detecting a fault event. If the recloser detects overcurrent, but the sensor does not detect the fault event, it is assumed that the fault is internal to the transformer and the recloser is prevented from reclosing.
CURRENT SUPERVISORY DEVICE WITH RELIABLE EVENT REPORTING
A current supervisory device includes current sensing means for sensing a current; a circuit arranged to convert a signal received from the current sensing means into a signal indicative of the sensed current; a processing circuit arranged to receive the signal indicative of the sensed current, to detect an event based on the received signal such that the detecting yields an outcome corresponding to one of at least two different states, and to generate an event signal in accordance with the outcome, such that the processing circuit has modulation means for performing modulation based on the event signal; and an output terminal arranged to output a reporting signal received from said processing circuit, whereby at least one of at least two different states gives rise to the reporting signal being a modulated signal.
