This application discloses a protection circuit associated with a battery management system (BMS). The protection circuit includes a first protection module and a freewheeling module. The first protection module is connected in parallel to a first switch module of the BMS, and the freewheeling module is connected in parallel to a load module of the BMS. The first protection module switches to a charging state when the first switch module is turned off to stabilize a voltage between a first terminal of the first switch module and a second terminal of the first switch module. The freewheeling module is turned on when the first switch module is turned off to stabilize a voltage between the first switch module and the second switch module. The protection circuit mitigates risks of breakdown of the first switch module, and prevents a parasitic inductance from limiting a switching frequency of the first switch module.

Solid-State Circuit Breaker With Self-Diagnostic, Self-Maintenance, and Self-Protection Capabilities

A solid-state circuit breaker (SSCB) with self-diagnostic, self-maintenance, and self-protection capabilities includes: a power semiconductor device; an air gap disconnect unit connected in series with the power semiconductor device; a sense and drive circuit that switches the power semiconductor device OFF upon detecting a short circuit or overload of unacceptably long duration; and a microcontroller unit (MCU) that triggers the air gap disconnect unit to form an air gap and galvanically isolate an attached load, after the sense and drive circuit switches the power semiconductor device OFF. The MCU is further configured to monitor the operability of the air gap disconnect unit, the power semiconductor device, and other critical components of the SSCB and, when applicable, take corrective actions to prevent the SSCB and the connected load from being damaged or destroyed and/or to protect persons and the environment from being exposed to hazardous electrical conditions.

REVERSE BATTERY PROTECTION CIRCUIT

A circuit for reverse battery protection includes an isolation circuit and a control circuit. The isolation is circuit coupled between a gate output of an electronic fuse (E-fuse) and at least one external metal-oxide-semiconductor field-effect transistor (MOSFET). The E-fuse is coupled between a battery voltage pin and an external ground pin and further coupled to a microcontroller. The isolation circuit is configured to disconnect the gate output from the at least one external MOSFET when the battery is installed with reverse polarity. The control circuit is coupled between the external ground pin and the at least one external MOSFET. The control circuit is configured to turn on the at least one external MOSFET when the battery is installed with the reverse polarity.

Embodiments of the present disclosure provide an over-voltage protection method, an over-voltage protection device and a display device. When the voltage value of the output signal is greater than the first preset voltage threshold, it is determined whether the voltage value of the output signal meets the preset over-voltage protection condition. If the voltage value of the output signal is detected to meet the preset over-voltage protection condition, the first control signal is output to stop output of the output signal or lower the voltage value of the output signal.

POWER SEMICONDUCTOR DEVICE PROTECTION CIRCUIT AND POWER MODULE

A power semiconductor device protection circuit includes: a drive circuit that drives a power semiconductor device; a current detector which includes a first resistor and an inductor connected in parallel; and a detection circuit that detects a short-circuit condition of the power semiconductor device. One end of the first resistor and one end of the inductor are connected to one terminal of the power semiconductor device. The detection circuit detects the short-circuit condition of the power semiconductor device by comparing a voltage of the one terminal of the power semiconductor device, which changes as a function of current flow through the first resistor and the inductor, with a short-circuit detection voltage. A reference potential of the drive circuit is connected to the other end of the first resistor and the other end of the inductor.

The overcurrent protection method includes: setting an overcurrent protection value as an overcurrent protection threshold of a current clock signal branch; enabling the overcurrent protection threshold, and controlling to turn off a level shifting circuit; detecting a real-time current of a current clock signal branch in a first substrate row driving circuit; and comparing the real-time current with the overcurrent protection threshold, and when the real-time current is greater than or equal to the overcurrent protection threshold, cutting off a power supply of the current clock signal branch in the first substrate row driving circuit, and enabling overcurrent protection.

The circuit includes a bidirectional cell including a set of forward switches for power flow during a forward mode of operation and a set of reverse switches for providing reverse power flow during a reverse mode of operation, a control inductor for controlling current flow during the reverse mode of operation, and a voltage clamping switch configured to provide the control inductor in the circuit during the reverse mode of operation and remove the control inductor from the circuit during the forward mode of operation. The circuit is operated in at least the reverse mode of operation.

A voltage detection device is provided which includes: a plurality of wires that are connected to a plurality of battery cells of a battery; a voltage detection circuit that operates with supply of electric power from the battery and detects voltages of the plurality of battery cells via the plurality of wires; an overvoltage protection circuit that electrically connects one or more wires of the plurality of wires to a minus terminal of the battery when the voltage of the one or more wires is higher than a predetermined threshold value; and a breaker circuit that irreversibly breaks electrical connection between the minus terminal and the voltage detection circuit using a current flowing from the one or more wires to the minus terminal.

Current protection device with mutual reactor

Embodiments of the disclosure provide a current protection device with a mutual reactor including a first winding and a second winding. The current protection device is a subcomponent of a previously developed fault current limiter. The current protection device protects the superconductor from potential damage. The current protection device may include a coil electrically connected in series with the first winding or the second winding, an actuator mechanically coupled at an output of the coil, and an electrical interrupter electrically connected to the first and second windings, wherein the actuator is communicatively coupled with the electrical interrupter to actuate a moveable contact of a set of breaker contacts of the electrical interrupter. In some embodiments, the first and second windings are arranged in parallel to one another. In some embodiments, the coil is electrically coupled to an output of the first winding or the second winding.
