SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR CHARGING BATTERY OF VEHICLE
The present disclosure relates to a charging system and a charging method for charging a main battery of a vehicle. The main battery can be charged with a voltage of a swappable battery using a DC-DC converter of an on-board computer (OBC) without installing additional converters for a plurality of swappable batteries through connection of the plurality of swappable batteries to input terminals of a plurality of DC-DC converters of the OBC charging the main battery, so that a driving distance of the vehicle is increased, and the efficiency of a motor and the inverters is increased.
Data Center Rack Including an Ultracapacitor Module
A data center rack is disclosed. The data center rack comprises a plurality of chamber openings including computing devices; and at least one chamber opening including a mounted ultracapacitor module comprising a plurality of ultracapacitors. A data center comprising a data center rack is also disclosed.
VEHICLE BATTERY WITH A SELF-CONTAINED BACKUP CAPABILITY
Disclosed herein are a vehicle or other system battery with a self-contained backup capability and a method for providing power to a vehicle using the vehicle or other system battery with a self-contained backup capability. In one aspect, the vehicle battery comprises, a main battery portion, a backup battery portion, and a control device for selectively communicating a transfer of energy from the backup battery portion to the main battery portion when a voltage level or other health indicator of the main battery portion is determined to be below a reference voltage threshold, wherein the main battery portion and backup battery portion are each re-chargeable via an alternator of the vehicle when the control device communicates the transfer of energy between the main battery portion and the backup battery portion.
SOLAR POWER SAFETY EDGE SYSTEM FOR SLIDING GATES
A system for powering a sliding gate including a solar power assembly with a solar panel in electronic communication with a device for regulating voltage and a high-capacity battery electronically connected to the device for regulating voltage, and a safety edge with a sensor wherein the safety edge is configured to receive power independently from both the device for regulating voltage and the high-capacity battery.
Renewable energy vehicle charging
A renewable energy charging system for increasing the charging efficiency of an autonomous vehicle includes a computer programed to predict, in a vehicle at a plurality of locations, an amount of power generation associated with each location. The computer selects one of the locations based at least on the predicted amounts of power generation and moves the vehicle to the selected location.
Power System Including a Power Storage
A power system may comprise a power system controller and a power storage. The power system controller may comprise a first pair of power terminals, a second pair of power terminals, at least one switch, and a central controller coupled to the at least one switch. The power storage may comprise storage power terminals connected to the first pair of power terminals. The second pair of power terminals may be coupled to a power source. The power system controller may be configured to control the switch to connect and disconnect the second pair of power terminals. The power system controller may be configured to receive power from the power storage during a process of connecting and disconnecting the second pair of power terminals.
VEHICLE BATTERY CELL BALANCING
A controller initiates discharging of at least some cells of a traction battery based on data indicative of cell state of charge and cell capacity such that, upon completion of the discharging, states of charge of at least some of the cells are different, and after charging the cells with a same current for a same period of time, the states of charge fall with a predefined range of values.
Software management of EV battery modules
Single, internally adjustable modular battery systems are provided, for handling power delivery from and to various power systems such as electric vehicles, photovoltaic systems, solar systems, grid-scale battery energy storage systems, home energy storage systems and power walls. Batteries comprise a main fast-charging lithium ion battery (FC), configured to deliver power to the electric vehicle, a supercapacitor-emulating fast-charging lithium ion battery (SCeFC), configured to receive power and deliver power to the FC and/or to the EV and to operate at high rates within a limited operation range of state of charge (SoC), respective module management systems, and a control unit. Both the FC and the SCeFC have anodes based on the same anode active material and the control unit is configured to manage the FC and the SCeFC and manage power delivery to and from the power system(s), to optimize the operation of the FC.
Hybrid Battery Cartridge
Systems, apparatus, and methods for managing power in a hybrid battery cartridge. The hybrid battery cartridge may output single-use battery power, rechargeable battery power, or both. Thus, a single battery cartridge may store multiple types of batteries and allow the batteries to be used separately or concurrently. In one example usage, the battery cartridge may be inserted into other devices to provide power. Additionally, the intelligent hybrid battery cartridge may be used as a stand-alone charger to charge other devices. The intelligent hybrid battery cartridge is designed to allow for retrofitting into existing single-use battery powered devices such as flashlights and lanterns to make them hybrid power enabled. The hybrid battery cartridge may select a power source based the type of load and/or on a reserve power threshold.
