In a control apparatus for a power conversion apparatus, a spectrum changing unit changes a spectrum of at least one of bus harmonic components and switch harmonic components so as to meet at least one of a separation condition and a reduction condition. The bus harmonic components are harmonic components superimposed on a voltage of the bus in accompaniment with on-off operations of switches configuring at least one power conversion apparatuses. The switch harmonic components are harmonic components included in a switching pattern of switches configuring the remaining at least one power conversion apparatus. The separation condition is that the frequencies of both harmonic components are separated by a predetermined value or more. The reduction condition is that an amplitude of at least one harmonic component is reduced when the difference between the frequencies of both harmonic components is less than the predetermined value.

EMI reduction in PWM inverters using adaptive frequency modulated carriers

A controller is provided for generating carrier signals for a PWM generator controlling an inverter driving an electric actuator to reduce the EMI level of the inverter. The controller includes an interface configured to connect to the inverter, a memory configured to store a measured electromagnetic-interference (EMI) spectrum, a desired EMI spectrum and an EMI suppression rate program, and a processor. The processor is, in connection with the memory, configured to computing EMI suppression rates for a frequency range, wherein the EMI suppression determined adaptively by the measured EMI spectrum and the desired EMI spectrum, computing sweep duration of discrete frequency, wherein the sweep duration is determined by the EMI suppression rate of the discrete frequency, and a modulator configured to modulate the carrier signals based on the sweep durations of carrier frequencies and to transmit the modulated carrier signals to the PWM generator to generate PWM signals for the inverter.

A motor drive control device includes a three-phase rectifier; a boosting circuit including a reactor, a switching element, and a backflow preventing element and boosts a direct-current bus voltage supplied from the three-phase rectifier; a smoothing capacitor; an inverter circuit; a boosting control unit; an inverter control unit; and a circuit protecting unit suppresses a ripple current flowing through the smoothing capacitor. In the circuit protecting unit, a correlation of an on-duty ratio of the switching element included in the boosting circuit, the output power of the inverter circuit, and an estimated ripple current are set. On the basis of the on-duty ratio of the switching element, output power of the inverter circuit, and the correlation, the circuit protecting unit determines an estimated ripple current flowing through the smoothing capacitor. When the estimated ripple current exceeds a preset threshold, the circuit protecting unit suppresses the ripple current.
