Absorbent articles having antimicrobial properties and methods of manufacturing the same
According to one embodiment, an absorbent article includes a moisture-impervious outer layer, an inner layer substantially co-extensive with the outer layer, and an absorbent layer interposed between the outer layer and the inner layer. The inner layer is treated with at one least substance including dimethicone and/or at least one antimicrobial booster. The absorbent layer is treated with at least one antimicrobial agent.
Amphiphilic antimicrobial hydrogel
A solid antimicrobial hydrogel comprising a first amphiphilic component. The first amphiphilic component, in its chemically cross-linked state, being a lyotropic liquid crystal and having an ordered nanostructure of hydrophobic and hydrophilic domains, the composition further comprising an antimicrobial agent being covalently attached to at least one of the hydrophilic or hydrophobic domains.
Binary odor control system for absorbent articles
Cellulosic pulp structures integrating unreacted quantities of an inorganic peroxide and a destabilizing acid, as binary components of an odor control system, absorbent articles incorporating such structures, and various methods of forming the same, are disclosed herein. The components are adapted to react in the presence of an aqueous fluid to produce hydrogen peroxide, thereby providing an antimicrobial and odor mitigating effect.

ANTIMICROBIAL AND ANTIVIRAL HYGIENIC PRODUCTS
The present invention relates to hygienic products such as sanitary pads and tampons, patient/adult diapers and baby diapers which are made antimicrobial. In the present invention, a mixture of glucopon, chlorhexidine gluconate and triclosan is obtained from the boron compounds called sodium borate, zinc borate, sodium perborate tetrahydrate, borax pentahydrate and disodium octaborate tetrahydrate; and this mixture provides antifungal, anticandidal, antibacterial and antiviral properties to the woven or non-woven textile products and hygienic products. Additionally, the said hygienic products are made hydrophilic by means of the invention.
