TUNABLE RADIO FREQUENCY SYSTEMS USING PIEZOELECTRIC PACKAGE-INTEGRATED SWITCHING DEVICES
Embodiments of the invention include a tunable radio frequency (RF) communication module that includes a transmitting component having at least one tunable component and a receiving component having at least one tunable component. The tunable RF communication module includes at least one piezoelectric switching device coupled to at least one of the transmitting and receiving components. The at least one piezoelectric switching device is formed within an organic substrate having organic material and is designed to tune at least one tunable component of the tunable RF communication module.
RESONANCE DEVICE
A resonance device is provided that includes a resonator including upper electrodes, a lower electrode, and a piezoelectric thin film formed therebetween. An upper cover is provided with a first surface facing the upper electrodes of the resonator. A power supply terminal is provided on a second surface of the upper cover with the power supply terminal electrically connected to the upper electrodes. Another power supply terminal is on the second surface of the upper cover and is electrically connected to the upper electrodes. A ground terminal is provided on the second surface of the upper cover and is electrically connected to the lower electrode. An area of each power supply terminal are different from one other such that a capacitance formed between the first power supply terminal and the ground terminal is approximately equal to a capacitance formed between the second power supply terminal and the ground terminal.

Tunable bandpass filter for millimeter-wave signals
A tunable passband filter including a signal input port for receiving an input radio frequency (RF) signal, a signal output port for transmitting a filtered output RF signal, a first high-pass section having a first tunable microelectromechanical system (MEMS) switch array to receive the input RF signal from the signal input port, a second high-pass section having a second tunable MEMS switch array to transmit the output RF signal to the signal output port, and a low pass section operatively coupled between the first high-pass section and the second high-pass section, and having each of a first tunable MEMS bridge array, a second tunable MEMS bridge array, and a high impedance line. The tunable passband filter is configured to filter the input RF signal to yield the filtered output RF signal.
