Cascadable filter architecture

A filter includes cascaded building blocks, for filtering an incoming signal. Each building block has first and second delay elements. A first scaling device is between an input node of the first delay element and an output node of the second delay element, and a second scaling device is between an output node of the first delay element and an input node of the second delay element. The building block has a cross scaling device between the output nodes of the first delay element and of the second delay element, and/or between the input nodes of the first delay element and of the second delay element. The building block is configured such that, in operation, incoming signals at the input node and output node of the second delay element are summed together.

Reduction of a circuit size and power consumption for performing digital filtering processing in a frequency domain is realized. The digital filter circuit includes: a complex conjugate generation unit for generating a second complex number signal including conjugate complex numbers of all complex numbers included in a first complex number signal of the frequency domain generated by converting a complex number signal of a time domain by Fourier transform; a filter coefficient generation unit for generating a first and a second frequency domain filter coefficient of a complex number from a first, a second and a third input filter coefficient of a complex number having been inputted; a first filtering unit for performing filtering processing to the first complex number signal by the first frequency domain filter coefficient, and outputting a third complex number signal; a second filtering unit for performing filtering processing to the second complex number signal by the second frequency domain filter coefficient, and outputting a fourth complex number signal; and a complex conjugate combining unit for combining the third complex number signal and the fourth complex number signal, and generating a fifth complex number signal.

An I/Q signal generating apparatus and phase shift apparatus using the same are provided, the I/Q signal generating apparatus including: a first resonance circuit whose one end is connected to a first input terminal and whose other end is connected to a first output terminal; and a second resonance circuit whose one end is connected to the other end of the first resonance circuit or a second input terminal, and whose other end is connected to a second output terminal, wherein the first resonance circuit and the second resonance circuit each include a resistor, a capacitor connected in parallel with the resistor, and an inductor connected in a form of a cross between the resistor and the capacitor.
