Absorbent articles comprising wetness indicators
An absorbent article that includes a backsheet, a wetness indicator composition having good stability, and an absorbent core. The wetness indicator composition includes a stabilizer, a colorant, and a matrix. The colorant has first and second color states associated with first and second wetness indicator states. The wetness indicator exhibits no color change after 10 days when measured according to the CTH Stability Test.
WETNESS INDICATOR COMPOSITIONS COMPRISING LEUCO DYES
The present invention relates to wetness indicator compositions that comprise at least one leuco dye and one color developer in a hot-melt adhesive matrix. Upon contact with water or with water-containing fluids, said wetness indicator compositions are apt to change their color from a colorless state to a colorful state or from a first colored state to a second colored state having a color different from the first one; in particular, from a first colorless, white, or translucent state to a second state having a visible color, or vice versa. The disclosed wetness indicator compositions can be used as wetness/fluid indicators in various applications, e.g. in packaging articles and in absorbent articles; in an absorbent mat or sheet or operatory cloth for medical use; in a wound dressing product; in an absorbent mat or sheet for food products.

DETECTION OF VOLATILES IN PERSONAL CARE PRODUCTS
Color-change compositions for detecting urine and feces volatiles include the following pH indicator dyes: m-Cresol Purple, Basic Fuchsin, Brilliant Blue G, Brilliant Blue R, Cresol Red and Thymol Blue. The compositions may be applied to various substrates. Such substrates may be used in the construction of a personal care absorbent article such as a diaper, training pant or incontinence garment.
Wetness notification system
A wetness notification system includes a detecting unit (2), a clip unit (3), a receiver unit (4), and a sampling unit (5). The detecting unit (2) includes a sleeve body (21), amounting seat (29), a moisture detector (22), a casing (23), a processor (24), a wireless transmitter (25), and a battery (26). The sampling unit (5) includes a substrate (51) and at least one sampling element (52). The substrate (51) is made of flexible material and removably attached to the mounting seat (29). The sampling element (52) is disposed on the substrate (51) for contacting and sampling the urine within the clothing article (7) for urinalysis.
Wound covering for wound monitoring and therapeutic agent delivery
A wound covering includes a flexible main body, and a sensor element incorporated into the main body. The sensor element includes a mesh formed from a plurality of fibers, and the sensor element is configured to undergo a change in appearance in response to a change in a parameter associated with wound exudate. The wound covering further includes a supply of therapeutic agent configured to diffuse the therapeutic agent from the wound covering into a wound when the wound covering is placed on the wound.
WATER ACTIVATED HYDROGEL-BASED MEDICAL PATCHES, FLEXIBLE SUBSTRATES AND METHODS OF MAKING AND USING SUCH PATCHES
A medical patch can comprise a biocompatible substrate and a dry hydrogel precursor layer on the substrate, the precursor layer comprising an electrophilic-hydrogel precursor having a plurality of electrophilic functional groups and a nucleophilic-hydrogel precursor having a plurality of protonated amine groups and no more than about 2 weight percent water. Both the electrophilic-hydrogel precursor and the nucleophilic-hydrogel precursor are substantially uncrosslinked, and are blended or in direct contact with each other. The medical patches can be formed by coating a melt blend of hydrogel precursors in a dry environment or based on solution coating from a dry, non-aqueous solvent, onto a porous, hydrophilic substrate, such as a compressed gelatin substrate. Flexible medical patches can be formed by methods that include compressing coated substrates, such as with calendering. The medical patches can be used for placement over a bleeding wound or the like and may function as a hemostatic patch.
