Wireless guest engagement system

A guest engagement system and associated methods provide seamless engagement with guests of facilities through the use of wireless sensing technologies. The system makes use of individual guest devices which are carried by guests and used to automatically identify and authenticate the guests throughout the facility. Services can thereby be seamlessly provided to the guests throughout the facility. The services include automatic unlocking of doors, including hotel or state room doors, based on the guests' immediate proximity to their assigned room's door. The services also include automated payment services provided at checkout or vending terminals, and automated log-on to interactive displays and portals, among others, based on secure wireless authentication of the guest devices.

Wireless device

One example discloses a wireless device, comprising a near-field transceiver configured to be coupled to a host structure; a controller coupled to the transceiver; wherein the near-field transceiver includes a feed point configured to be coupled to a conductive surface; wherein the conductive surface is configured to be capacitively coupled to the host structure to form part of a near-field electric antenna; and wherein the conductive surface is configured to be in repeated, but not continuous, contact with a ground.

TRANSPARENT DISPLAY CONTROL DEVICE

A control device for a building management system (BMS) including a touch screen display configured to mount to a mounting surface, a communications interface configured to communicate with the BMS, a near field communication (NFC) sensor configured to receive information from a NFC device, a microphone configured to detect vocal input, and a processing circuit coupled to the touch screen display. The processing circuit including a processor and memory coupled to the processor, the memory storing instructions thereon that, when executed by the processor, cause the control device to receive user input from at least one of the touch screen display, the NFC sensor, or the microphone, validate an identity of a user based on the user input, and cause the BMS to control an environmental variable of a space based on the validation.

Method and device for transmitting electrical power and/or signals between a wall and a leaf pivotable relative thereto

A method for transmitting at least one of electrical power and signals between a wall and a leaf which can be pivoted relative to the wall. The method includes providing a transmission device, detecting a magnetic field strength in surroundings of the transmission device, and generating a fault signal when the magnetic field strength exceeds a threshold value.

SYSTEMS AND METHODS OF SECURE COMMUNICATION OF DATA FROM MEDICAL DEVICES

Disclosed systems and methods include electronic devices attached to a patient or object that transmit data to other devices over a secure communication channel. The devices can track and/or monitor object(s) and/or patient(s) and transmit the tracked and/or monitored data to other electronic devices. Such data can include monitored patient physiological parameter(s) received and/or sensed by the device, for example. A master of the two devices transmits a communication signal to another device that, in response, initiates a secure wireless communication channel, causes one or more modules on the device to be powered, and, when powered, transmits the tracked and/or sensed physiological data over the secure wireless communication channel to the master device. Some example master devices transmit the communication signal with an instruction to the device to activate an onboard power source that later may be disconnected after the tracked and/or physiological data is transmitted.
