Method and apparatus for preventing malfunctions of a touch panel disposed near an antenna
An apparatus for preventing malfunctions of a touchpad disposed near an antenna is provided. An NFC coil is disposed underneath a touchpad. In NFC, an NFC card approaches the surface of the touchpad. A touch controller sets the detection sensitivity of a finger to a reference value when an NFC module does not emit alternating magnetic fluxes. The touch controller reduces the detection sensitivity at the timing when the NFC coil starts the emission of the alternating magnetic fluxes. The touch controller returns the detection sensitivity to the reference value at the timing when the NFC coil stops the emission of the alternating magnetic fluxes. The NFC module directly transmits a signal with which the touch controller changes the detection sensitivity to the touch controller through a hardware line.
METHOD, SYSTEM, AND COMPUTER PROGRAM PRODUCT FOR DETECTION OF SECURELY FASTENED SEAT BELTS
An electronic tag programmed with an identification in a seat belt assembly is identified by reading the programmed identification via an electronic device embedded in a seat. In response to identifying the electronic tag, a determination is made that an occupant has not fastened a seat belt of the seat belt assembly to secure the occupant in the seat.
SIDEBAND GENERATING NFC APPARATUS TO MIMIC LOAD MODULATION
An RFID card includes a smartcard controller that receives power from a host device. The RFID card also includes a small inductive device capable of inductive coupling with an RFID reader. The small inductive device is small enough to fit in the form factor of a memory card or SIM card. Enhancement circuits enhance the usable read and write distance of the RFID card.
Transaction-specific customer survey system
Provided are a method and system for automatically generating context-based survey questions predicated on the customers' actual purchase experience with the merchant, thus eliminating for the customer the need to respond to obvious, redundant, and even irrelevant questions, and providing to the merchant customer feedback directly bound to the actual purchase event and correlating data. Purchase information is stored at the time of purchase and the customer is given an identifier for the purchase. Then, at the customer's convenience, either at the point of sale or through a networked computer, the customer can provide responses to questions that are selectively and automatically generated based on the items purchased, or other definable attributes associated with the sale, and based upon configurable preferences of the merchant. Survey questions are displayed and feedback responses are stored, analyzed and associated with purchase information in real time.
NFC MOBILE DEVICE TRANSACTIONS WITH A DIGITAL ARTIFACT
A method and system for receiving digital artifacts from a management server. The method includes sending a request for a digital artifact from a mobile application to the management server for display within a specific mobile application generated screen, receiving the digital artifact from the management server, and displaying the digital artifact with the specific mobile application generated screen.
COMMUNICATION SYSTEM, COMMUNICATION APPARATUS, AND COMMUNICATION METHOD
A communication system comprises a first conductor member in which a first signal line is connected at a connection position other than end portions on a surface of the first conductor member, a second conductor member connected with a second signal line, and a communication control unit that controls wireless communication by electromagnetic coupling between a first coupler including the first conductor member and a second coupler including the second conductor member. A distance between the connection position and a farthest point from the connection position on the surface of the first conductor member is equal to or less than a quarter wavelength corresponding to a signal to be used in communication by the communication control unit.
Systems and Methods for Detecting Wireless Power Receivers and Other Objects at a Near-Field Charging Pad
An example method is performed at a near-field charging pad that includes a wireless communication component, and a plurality of power-transfer zones that each respectively include at least one power-transferring element and a signature-signal receiving circuit. The method includes: sending, by a respective power-transferring element included in a first power-transfer zone of the plurality of power-transfer zones, test power transmission signals with first values for a set of transmission characteristics. The method also includes: in conjunction with sending each of the power transmission signals: detecting, using the signature-signal receiving circuit, respective amounts of reflected power at the first power-transfer zone. The method further includes: based on the respective amounts of reflected power, determining whether (i) an authorized wireless power receiver and/or (ii) an object other than a wireless power receiver is present on a surface of the charging pad that is adjacent the first power-transfer zone.
Wireless cabin seatback screen location determination
A passenger unit for use on-board a passenger vehicle (e.g., an in-flight entertainment device) includes a display, a memory storing a passenger unit identifier, a wireless network interface, and a connector configured to physically couple to a connector on a mounting unit, where the mounting unit is installed on, or proximate to, a particular seat of a plurality of seats on-board the passenger vehicle. The passenger unit also includes a controller configured to obtain a seat location code of the particular seat from the mounting unit, and to cause the seat location code and the passenger unit identifier to be transmitted, via the wireless network interface, to a server on-board the passenger vehicle. The server is configured to map the passenger unit to the particular seat using the seat location code and the passenger unit identifier.
NFC-ENABLED APPARATUS AND METHOD OF OPERATION THEREOF
An NFC-enabled apparatus is disclosed. The apparatus includes a touch screen display and a near field communication (NFC) module comprising an NFC antenna and an NFC controller. In response to tagging between the NFC-enabled apparatus and the external NFC terminal, an NFC communication channel is established between the NFC-enabled apparatus and the external NFC terminal for data communication therebetween.
