The control unit is configured to: control the video decoding unit or the display unit so as not to limit viewing of the broadcasting program that the user of the broadcast receiving apparatus desires to view in a case where the response data received by the communication unit indicates a display permission response and both of terminal identification information and authentication information contained in the display permission response respectively coincide with the terminal identification information and the authentication information stored in the authentication information storing unit; and control the video decoding unit or the display unit so as to limit the viewing of the broadcasting program that the user of the broadcast receiving apparatus desires to view in a case where any of the terminal identification information and the authentication information contained in the display permission response does not coincide with corresponding one of the terminal identification information and the authentication information stored in the authentication information storing unit even though the response data received by the communication unit indicates the display permission response.

A digital broadcast receiving apparatus capable of executing a function with a higher added value is provided. A broadcast receiving apparatus configured to receive broadcasting data on digital broadcasting is used. A method of constructing and handling a request for a desired data file relating to a broadcast segment of a broadcast signal is described. The method comprises receiving an information signal at a receiving device. The information signal comprises at least a data element, and the data element relates to a segment of the broadcast signal. The method also comprises presenting the data element to a user interface of the receiving device, obtaining a user selection of the data element from the user interface, and constructing and transmitting a request for the desired data file relating to the selected data element, the request including an identifier relating to the desired data file.

In one embodiment, an enhanced media presentation is provided. To provide the enhanced media presentation, one or more content items associated with subject matter associated with a segment of an enhanced media presentation are identified. Each content item may be associated with at least one uniform resource identifier. Then, a content object based at least in part on at least one content item is created. The content object is an abstract representation of the content item. The content object can be associated with the segment and provided for simultaneous displayed simultaneously with at least a portion of the segment.

Computer program products, methods, systems, apparatus, and computing entities are provided for providing an enhanced media presentation. In one embodiment, an enhanced media presentation is provided. To provide the enhanced media presentation, one or more content items associated with subject matter associated with a segment of an enhanced media presentation are identified. Each content item may be associated with at least one uniform resource identifier. Then, a content object based at least in part on at least one content item is created. The content object is an abstract representation of the content item. The content object can be associated with the segment and provided for simultaneous displayed simultaneously with at least a portion of the segment.

A receiving device is provided including a receiving unit that receives a transmission frame transmitted from a transmitting device, and a demodulation unit that performs demodulation processing on a data signal obtained from a transmission frame that has been received, on the basis of a transmission control signal obtained from the transmission frame that has been received, in which the transmission control signal includes time-division control information regarding time-division control, as control information according to introduction of a second scheme compatible with a first scheme, and the demodulation unit operates according to the time-division control information. The present technology can be applied to, for example, a transmission system compliant with a broadcasting scheme such as an ISDB-T scheme.
