TRANSMISSION APPARATUS, TRANSMISSION METHOD, RECEPTION APPARATUS, AND RECEPTION METHOD
The present technology relates to a transmission apparatus, a transmission method, a reception apparatus, and a reception method that make it possible to detect a watermark more easily. The transmission apparatus includes a generation section and a transmission section. The generation section generates watermark information for detecting a watermark. The transmission section transmits a broadcast signal including the watermark and the watermark information. When the transmission apparatus is provided, it enables the reception apparatus at a receiving end to detect the watermark more easily. The present technology is applicable, for example, to a transmission system including the transmission apparatus and the reception apparatus.
Methods and apparatus to perform audio sensor selection in an audience measurement device
Methods, apparatus, systems and articles of manufacture to perform audio sensor selection in an audience metering device are disclosed. An example apparatus includes at least two audio sensors to receive audio at an audience metering device and a selection tester to identify a plurality of audio sensor configurations supported by the audience metering device, the plurality of audio sensor configurations identifying respective gain values to be applied to the plurality of audio sensors. The selection tester is further to select one of the first one of the audio sensor configurations or the second one of the audio sensor configurations based on a comparison of a first quality metric and a second quality metric. The example apparatus further includes a media identifier to identify audio received at the audience metering device using the selected one of the audio sensor configurations.
Methods and apparatus to determine a state of a media presentation device
Methods and apparatus to determine a state of a media presentation device are disclosed. Example disclosed methods include generating a first set of weighted coefficients based on first audio received by first and second microphones at a first time. Example disclosed methods include generating a second set of weighted coefficients based on second audio received by the first and second microphones at a second time after the first time. Example disclosed methods include comparing the first set of coefficients and the second set of coefficients to generate a similarity value. Example disclosed methods include, when the similarity value satisfies a threshold, determining that the media presentation device is in a first state. Example disclosed methods include, when the similarity value does not satisfy the threshold, determining that the media presentation device is in a second state.
METHODS AND APPARATUS TO DETECT AUDIO ENGINEERING PROBLEMS USING IDENTIFICATION OF ISOLATED WATERMARKS
Example methods and apparatus to detect audio engineering problems using identification of isolated watermarks are disclosed herein. Disclosed example methods include identifying, by executing an instruction with a processor, isolated watermarks in a first set of detected watermarks obtained from first media monitored at a first site. Disclosed example methods further include determining, by executing an instruction with the processor, a problem has been detected with the first media associated with the first set of detected watermarks in response to a first number of isolated watermarks identified in the first set of detected watermarks satisfying a first threshold.
METHODS AND APPARATUS FOR OPTIMIZING STATION REFERENCE FINGERPRINT LOADING USING REFERENCE WATERMARKS
Methods, apparatus, systems and articles of manufacture are disclosed selectively generating and storing hashed reference signatures. An example method disclosed herein determining whether watermark coverage of a first media segment satisfies a dropout constraint, the first media segment corresponding to a first monitoring time interval of a media source feed and, when the watermark coverage of the first media segment does not satisfy the dropout constraint hashing first media signatures associated with the first media segment to generate corresponding first hashed signatures and generating first reference data for the first media segment, the first reference data including the first hashed signatures and the first media signatures. The example method further includes, when the watermark coverage of the first media segment satisfies the dropout constraint, generating second reference data for the first media segment, the second reference data including the first media signatures.
METHODS AND APPARATUS TO PERFORM AUDIO WATERMARKING AND WATERMARK DETECTION AND EXTRACTION
Methods and apparatus to perform audio watermarking and watermark detection and extraction are disclosed. Example apparatus include means for transforming an audio signal into a frequency domain representation, and means for determining characteristics of frequencies of the frequency domain representation that may contain the code. In some examples, the means for determining is to normalize the characteristics of the frequencies of the frequency domain representation in respective ones of the code bands that may contain the code to determine normalized characteristics of the frequencies representative of the code, a respective one of the code bands that may contain the code to be normalized against a first characteristic of a first frequency in that code band; sum the normalized characteristics of the frequencies representative of the code; determine the sum is representative of the code when the sum satisfies a threshold; and validate the code based on an encoding scheme.
METHODS AND APPARATUS TO IDENTIFY MEDIA PRESENTATIONS BY ANALYZING NETWORK TRAFFIC
Methods, apparatus, systems and articles of manufacture are disclosed herein include correlating first network traffic data collected by a network meter to streaming data collected by a media presentation device meter; determining second network traffic data that pertains to streaming media streaming on a streaming device, the second network traffic data based on the first network traffic data; and generating a traffic profile based on a relationship between the second network traffic data and the streaming media streaming on a streaming device.
Methods and apparatus to measure exposure to streaming media
Methods, apparatus, systems and articles of manufacture to measure exposure to streaming media are disclosed. An example apparatus includes a video retriever to retrieve an image displayed by a media device presenting the streaming media, the media device separate from the video retriever. A metadata extractor is to extract a video watermark from the retrieved image. A metadata converter is to, in response to the extraction of the video watermark, convert the video watermark into text formatted metadata. A transmitter is to transmit the text formatted metadata to a central facility.
MEDIA IDENTIFICATION USING WATERMARKS AND SIGNATURES
Apparatus, systems, articles of manufacture, and methods to identify media using watermarks and signatures are disclosed. An example apparatus includes a watermark evaluator to determine a category indicated by a watermark detected in the media. The example apparatus also includes a signature comparator to compare a query signature with a subset of reference signatures associated with the category to identify the media, the query signature generated from the media, the reference signatures generated from reference media associated with the category.
