An apparatus and method for synchronization of a decoding unit to a received data bit stream, DBS, encoded according to a data protocol, DP, said apparatus comprising a sampling unit adapted to sample a bit sequence, BSEQ, having a predetermined bit sequence length, BSEQL, from the received data bit stream, DBS, and a checking unit configured to check whether at least one specific bit of the sampled bit sequence, BSEQ, fulfills a predetermined error detection condition, EDC, defined by said data protocol, DP, and further configured to synchronize the decoding unit to the received data bit stream, DBS, if the checking result is positive.

BODY-WORN VITAL SIGN MONITOR

The invention provides a body-worn monitor featuring a processing system that receives a digital data stream from an ECG system. A cable houses the ECG system at one terminal end, and plugs into the processing system, which is worn on the patient's wrist like a conventional wristwatch. The ECG system features: i) a connecting portion connected to multiple electrodes worn by the patient; ii) a differential amplifier that receives electrical signals from each electrode and process them to generate an analog ECG waveform; iii) an analog-to-digital converter that converts the analog ECG waveform into a digital ECG waveform; and iv) a transceiver that transmits a digital data stream representing the digital ECG waveform (or information calculated from the waveform) through the cable and to the processing system. Different ECG systems, typically featuring three, five, or twelve electrodes, can be interchanged with one another.

MANAGEMENT OF MESSAGE TRANSMISSION USING FORWARD ERROR CORRECTION

Techniques for managing message transmission using forward error correction include determining, by a communication application executing on a first node device based on one or more consecutive attempts to transmit messages to a second node device without using forward error correction (FEC) being unsuccessful, to use FEC to transmit messages to the second node device; and transmitting, by the communication application in response to determining to use FEC to transmit messages to the second node device, a first message to the second node device using FEC.

System and method for asset management and integration

A system for communicating and managing messaging between a source system and a destination system including a publisher module, a topic module that receives the message from the publisher module and including one or more subscription modules, a queue module that receives the message from the topic module, a success queue module, an error queue module, and a subscriber module that receives the message from the queue module, then decompresses, decrypts, calculates the check sum, then prepares the message for transmission to the destination system and transmits the message to the destination system.

MAXIMIZING A FRAME'S ARRANGEMENT THEREBY INCREASING PROCESSING TIME AVAILABLE TO PROCESSORS
20180092111 · 2018-03-29 ·

Embodiments herein maximize frame usage by selectively arranging the data within the frame thereby giving the transmitting processor additional time generate and transmit the data within the frame without increasing the time gap G of the frame and without increasing the overall length of the frame. Further, the selective arrangement also gives the receiving processor additional time to process the data of the frame and send Ack/Nack information regarding the success/failure of the processing without increasing the time gap G of the frame and without increasing the overall length of the frame. Other aspects, embodiments, and features are also claimed and described.

EFFICIENT AND FAST DISTRIBUTION OF AN UPGRADED DATA OBJECT

A method includes dividing an updated data object into n data object portions. N corresponds to a number of sites in which a set of storage units (SUs) is located. The method further includes sending n write requests to n SUs. Each of the n SUs is in a different site. A first SU of the n SUs is in a first site. A first write request of the n write requests includes a first data object portion. The first write request is sent to the first SU. The method further includes sharing the n data object portions such that each of the n SUs have the updated data object. The method further includes dispersed error encoding, by the first SU, the updated data object to generate a first and second encoded data slice for each of a plurality of sets of encoded data slices.

METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR INSERTION OF CODE BLOCK INDEX IN WIRELESS CELLULAR COMMUNICATION SYSTEM

The present disclosure relates to a communication technique of fusing a 5G communication system for supporting higher data transmission rate beyond a 4G system with an IoT technology and a system thereof. The system may be used for an intelligent service (for example, smart home, smart building, smart city, smart car or connected car, health care, digital education, retail business, security and safety related service, or the like) based on the 5G communication technology and the IoT related technology. The present disclosure discloses a method and apparatus for inserting an index into a code block as a unit in which a channel code is executed and transmitting the same.

METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR MONITORING A PERFORMANCE OF AN ETHERNET DATA STREAM

An apparatus for monitoring a performance of an Ethernet data stream, EDS, said apparatus comprising: an evaluation unit adapted to evaluate sync headers and block type fields of line code vectors of the Ethernet data stream, EDS; and a counter unit adapted to increment at least one performance counter in response to the evaluated sync header and the evaluated block type field of each line code vector of the Ethernet data stream, EDS.

Method and base station for transmitting downlink signal and method and equipment for receiving downlink signal

A base station of the present invention configures resources in which a downlink signal is to be transmitted with zero power using resource sets defined for a specific number of antenna ports, regardless of the number of antenna ports actually configured in the base station, and transmits resource information indicating the configured resources to a user equipment. The user equipment of the present invention receives a downlink transmission from the base station, assuming that transmission power of resources corresponding to a resource set indicated by the resource information is zero.

RECEIVER CIRCUIT, RELATED INTEGRATED CIRCUIT AND APPARATUS
20180019946 · 2018-01-18 ·

A receiver circuit extracts data from a serial data signal. The serial data signal contains a data packet having a first format with a first number of bits or a second format with a second number of bits based on a selection signal. The second format comprises the bits of the first format followed by one or more additional bits. The receiver circuit has at least one shift register having a total number of bits equal or greater than the number of bits of the second format and a switching circuit that selectively connects the serial data signal to one of the shift register serial inputs as a function of the selection signal. When the first format is selected and the respective bits received, the bits are stored in given positions of the one or more shift registers. The switching circuit also, when the second format is selected and the respective bits received, stores the bits of the first format included at the beginning of the second format in the same given positions of the one or more shift registers.
