Managing communications using alternative packet addressing
Techniques are described for managing communications for a managed virtual computer network overlaid on a distinct substrate computer network, including for communications involving computing nodes of the managed virtual computer network that use an alternative addressing scheme to direct network packets and other network communications to intended destination locations by using textual network node monikers instead of numeric IP addresses to represent computing nodes at a layer 3 or “network layer” of a corresponding computer networking stack in use by the computing nodes. The techniques are provided without modifying or configuring the network devices of the substrate computer network, by using configured modules to manage and modify communications from the logical edge of the substrate network.
Systems and methods for managed services provisioning using service-specific provisioning data instances
A technical solution for an electronic information exchange platform is disclosed. Services provided by the platform may be described in a uniform way via service-specific provisioning descriptors. To provision services for a client system, a managed services provisioning system provides a service configuration interface through which a service associated with a tuple of a particular sender, receiver, and document type can be selected for further configuration. A service provisioning interface is dynamically generated for obtaining service-specific provisioning information from a user for generating a service-specific provisioning data instance that can be deployed to a backend system. At runtime, the backend system utilizes the service-specific provisioning data instance to provide the provisioned service for a client system. In this way, a variety of services can be efficiently provisioned for a diverse set of clients in a scalable, streamlined, and cost-effective manner.
Electronic device, processing proxy requesting method of electronic device, and information processing system
A system is dynamically configured according to a state of a device connected to a network. An electronic device includes a device information management unit, an acquisition unit, a detection unit, and a device cooperative processing unit. The device information management unit manages device information related to a different device connected through a network. An acquisition unit acquires surrounding information. A detection unit detects generation of a specific event on the basis of the acquired surrounding information. In a case where a function necessary for processing the surrounding information in response to detection of the specific event is not included in itself, the device cooperative processing unit selects a device including the function from the different device on the basis of the device information and gives a request for proxy of the processing thereto through the network.
Automated command assistance for a cloud service
An automated command assistance tool is provided for a browser-enabled command line interface of a cloud service. The automated command assistance tool provides examples illustrating the correct syntax for commands used to manage the resources of a cloud service. The command assistance tool learns the syntax of a command from usage patterns found in telemetric data, scripts and user documentation and forms templates containing a command's usage pattern and related information. The templates are used to generate examples that respond to a user query for assistance with usage of a particular command.
Allowing both internet access and network-based media sharing with media devices of particular guest room in response to confirming personal details received from guest device match registered guest of hospitality establishment
A media system includes a computer network, a media device supporting a network-based media sharing protocol, a plurality of output devices located at a plurality of physical locations within a hospitality establishment, and a system controller. In response to a first event, the system controller assigns the media device to a particular guest device by reconfiguring one or more components of the computer network to enable the particular guest device to utilize the network-based media sharing protocol to share media over the computer network with the media device, and commands an output device located at a physical location associated with the particular guest device to play media corresponding to the media signal outputted by the media device on the output port. In response to a second event, the system controller un-assigns the media device from the particular guest device and commands the output device to stop playing the media.
Forwarding element implementation for containers
A method of creating containers in a physical host that includes a managed forwarding element (MFE) configured to forward packets to and from a set of data compute nodes (DCNs) hosted by the physical host. The method creates a container DCN in the host. The container DCN includes a virtual network interface card (VNIC) configured to exchange packets with the MFE. The method creates a plurality of containers in the container DCN. The method, for each container in the container DCN, creates a corresponding port on the MFE. The method sends packets addressed to each of the plurality of containers from the corresponding MFE port to the VNIC of the container DCN.
Method to analyze impact of a configuration change to one device on other connected devices in a data center
Various systems and methods are provided for analyzing the effect(s) that a configuration change to one device has on other connected devices. In one embodiment, the disclosed functionality includes determining connectivity information associated with a data center, where the data center comprises at least a first device and a second device; discovering one or more changes to a configuration of the first device; determining, based at least in part on the connectivity information, that the second device is impacted by the one or more changes to the configuration of the first device; and determining one or more impacts to the second device as a result of the one or more changes, where each of the one or more impacts indicates a positive impact to the second device, a negative impact to the second device, or no impact to the second device.
