Remote factory reset of an electronic device
During operation, an electronic device receives a packet or a frame associated with a second electronic device, where the packet or the frame includes information specifying a factory reset command. For example, the second electronic device may be a dynamic host configuration protocol (DHCP) server or may perform functions of a DHCP server. Moreover, the packet or the frame may include an acknowledgment (ACK) in a discover, offer, request and acknowledgment (DORA) procedure, and the information may be included in an option 43 subfield or an option 52 subfield in the packet or the frame. In response to receiving the factory reset command, the electronic device performs a factory reset. Note that the factory reset may restore firmware in the electronic device to a factory-fresh version and a configuration of the electronic device to a factory-fresh state, may erase memory in the electronic device.
Network boot for Ethernet physical-layer devices
An Ethernet physical-layer (PHY) device includes an analog front-end and one or more processors. The analog front-end is configured to interface with an Ethernet link that is coupled to a peer Ethernet PHY device. The one or more processors are configured to receive a firmware image from the peer Ethernet PHY device over the Ethernet link, and to boot the Ethernet PHY device and establish Ethernet communication with the peer Ethernet PHY device in accordance with the received firmware image.
CREDENTIAL MANAGEMENT SYSTEM
A server may communicate with a mobile device and/or a reader device via an Internet connection. The server may be configured to generate a credential and transmit the credential to the mobile device. The mobile device may use the credential in an access control system, a payment system, a transit system, a vending system, or the like.
Differentiated management and control of terminals with multiple operating systems
After a terminal receives any piece of control information sent by a management server, if the control information is used to indicate that a foreground operating system of the terminal is a target operating system, the terminal is controlled according to a control instruction carried in the control information. When the foreground operating system of the terminal is not the target operating system, the terminal does not control the terminal according to the control instruction. In addition, the terminal may store a correspondence between a system identifier of the target operating system and the control instruction, so that after the foreground operating system of the terminal is changed to the target operating system, the terminal may further obtain the control instruction based on the correspondence and control the terminal according to the control instruction.
Control device, execution device and device management method
A control device, an execution device, a device management method, and a device management system are provided, and are related to the field of network technologies. The control device includes: a network communications interface configured to connect to an execution device through a network, where the execution device is a network communications device; and a processor configured to send a device management protocol packet through the network communications interface, where the device management protocol packet indicates an operation performed on a register in a first chip in the execution device and/or the device management protocol packet indicates that a pin of a second chip in the execution device is set to a status indicated by the device management protocol packet.
METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR OBTAINING INSTALLATION INFORMATION OF NETWORK ACCESS DEVICE
A method and an apparatus for obtaining installation information of a network access device. The network access device may be CPE. When a user installs the CPE, after the user uses a terminal device to send a request for obtaining installation information of the CPE to a network device, and to receive the installation information of the CPE that is fed back by the network device, the received installation information of the CPE can be displayed on a display interface.
Model driven intent policy conflict detection and resolution through graph analysis
A method includes maintaining, by a controller device that manages a plurality of network devices, a data structure and receiving, by the controller device, an indication of a stateful intent. The method further includes generating, by the controller device, a logical packet based on the stateful intent and determining, by the controller device, a dependent intent of the data structure based on the logical packet. The method further includes determining that the dependent intent conflicts with the stateful intent. The method further includes, in response to determining that the dependent intent conflicts with the stateful intent, determining, by the controller device, a resolution that resolves the conflict between the dependent intent and the stateful intent based on the dependent intent and the stateful intent and outputting, by the controller device, an indication of the resolution.
Edge database management of the network data plane
Novel tools and techniques for network data plane management are provided. A system includes a host machine that includes a database, processor, and non-transitory computer readable media comprising instructions executable by the processor to obtain, via the database, a network configuration, spawn a container according to the network configuration, wherein the container is configured, based on the network configuration, to be coupled to a network overlay via a network interface, receive, via the network interface, incoming data associated with the container, the incoming data having attached one or more attached network data attributes, and identify, via the database, the attached one or more network data attributes attached to the incoming data as one or more network data attributes of the network data model.
APPARATUS AND METHOD TO PROVIDE A MOUNTED ELECTRONIC PART WITH INFORMATION RELATED TO A FAILURE OCCURRENCE THEREIN
An apparatus includes a plurality of mounting slots each configured to mount an electronic part including a first memory. The apparatus collects, through a first path, from the electronic part mounted on each of the plurality of mounting slots, event information indicating an operating state of the electronic part, and stores the collected event information in a second memory included in the apparatus. When the event information stored in the second memory has a first level of importance, the apparatus causes the event information stored in the second memory to be stored, through a second route, in the first memory of the electronic part from which the event information having the first level of importance has been collected.
Contextual update compliance management
A process for configuring hardware in a network environment, comprising retrieving a catalog index using a processor, selecting a catalog for a new hardware component, selecting a plurality of software applications for the new hardware product from the catalog, determining a context for the new hardware component, wherein the context identifies one or more variable parameters for one or more of a plurality of software applications and installing the plurality of software applications on the hardware product as a function of the context.
