ENABLEMENT OF SOFTWARE DEFINED STORAGE SOLUTION FOR NVME OVER ETHERNET FABRIC MANAGEMENT ON STORAGE CONTROLLER
A computer system includes a BMC and a host of the BMC. The BMC receives a first message from a first remote device on a management network. The BMC determines whether the first message is directed to a storage service or fabric service executed on a main processor of a storage controller of the host. The host is a storage device. The storage controller includes an RDMA controller in communication with the main processor through an internal communication channel of the storage controller. The RDMA controller is managed by the storage service. The BMC extracts a service management command from the first message, when the first message is directed to the storage service or fabric service. The BMC sends, through a BMC communication channel established for communicating baseboard management commands between the BMC and the host, a second message containing the service management command to the host.
Adaptive power control for cable fiber access node
Adaptive power control may be provided. First, a network configuration change event may be detected by a computing device disposed in a node. Next, the computing device may determine, in response to detecting the network configuration change event, a bias current value for a forward launch amplifier disposed in the node based on the network configuration change event. The computing device may then cause, in response to determining the bias current value, the forward launch amplifier to be driven with the bias current value.
Method and system for porting gateway functionality associated with a user from a first gateway to one or more other gateways
A broadband gateway, which enables communication with a plurality of devices, handles at least one physical layer connection to at least one corresponding network access service provider. The broadband gateway may operate as a home gateway to negotiate with one or more visited gateways, a common authorized service area or domain (ASD) for providing services to the visited gateways. The home gateway may establish one or more corresponding communication links with the visited gateways based on the negotiated common ASD. The home gateway communicates corresponding content for the services to the visited gateways via the established corresponding communication links. The home gateway communicates information about gateway functionalities required for the services to the visited gateways. The visited gateways may port gateway functionalities forwarded by the home gateway, or may perform gateway functionality conversion to support the services, which may be acquired via the home gateway and/or the visited gateways from networks.
Customer configuration of broadband services
Novel solutions to provide enhanced configurability of network access. Such solutions can provide, inter alia, enhanced utilization of network resources (including without limitation network aggregation devices, such as DSLAMs and the like). In an aspect of some solutions, a network aggregation device can divide an aggregate uplink bandwidth into a plurality of time slots. Some or all of the time slots can be reserved for different customers (subscribers). In another aspect of some embodiments, the time slots can be allocated in such a way as to simulate oversubscription of the aggregate uplink bandwidth.
Adaptive communication method among components based on Linux
An adaptive communication method among components based on Linux, related to a technical field of network communication in a distributed environment, includes steps of: creating a unidirection persistent connection between each two communication hosts with a service program; generating a component address list after a distributed component is launched; during communication, packaging a message into a JSON format, searching the address list to find an address, and sending the message to a target component via a Linux local socket or the created unidirection persistent connection according to a location relationship; and, when the component stops, deleting information about the component from the component address list.
DEVICE ABSTRACTION PROXY
Described are systems and methods for implementing and operating a Device Abstraction Proxy (DAP). In one embodiment, the DAP includes a communications interface to connect the DAP to one or more access aggregation devices, each having a plurality of physical ports to provide Digital Subscriber Line (DSL) communication services to a plurality of remote DSL terminals via the plurality of physical ports. The DAP may further include a memory and processor to execute a virtual access aggregation device, in which a subset of the plurality of physical ports are allocated and linked to corresponding logical ports. The DAP may further include a global rule-set module to define operational constraints for the DSL communication services, and a management interface to allow at least one broadband access management system to manage the subset of physical ports allocated to the virtual access aggregation device subject to the operational constraints.
METHOD AND SYSTEM FOR USING A DOWNLOADABLE AGENT FOR A COMMUNICATION SYSTEM, DEVICE, OR LINK
Described is a method performed by a downloadable agent, the method comprising: collecting WAN performance infor-mation, wherein the downloadable agent is executable on a computing device coupled to a LAN of a broadband subscriber, wherein the LAN is coupled by another device to a WAN; and transmitting the WAN performance information to a machine; wherein the machine is operable to: store and analyze the performance information to generate an analysis result; and report the analysis result to at least one of the broadband subscriber and its service provider. Described is a corresponding system which comprises a database; and a server coupled to the database, the server operable to: receive WAN performance information from a downloadable agent; store the information in the database, analyze the information to generate an analysis result; and report the analysis result to at least one of the broadband subscriber and the broadband subscriber's service provider.
Facilitating and provisioning customer broadband transport service
A system and method for facilitating and provisioning customer broadband transport service between a digital communication port employing digital communications and at least one communications provider, including communicating with a provisioning server to establish service and to coordinate service offerings of one or more communication providers.
Systems, apparatus, and methods of time gap related monitoring for an event candidate related to an ID node within a wireless node network
A system for time gap based monitoring for identifying an event candidate within a server managed wireless node network may include an ID node monitored by a master node. The system's master node is operative to receive multiples signals from the ID node; and use a timer on the master node to determine time gaps between successive received signals. The master node then compares the signals to identify a change in an observed parameter of the signals; identifies the event candidate when at least one of the identified change in the observed parameter and the detected time gaps matches an event criteria related to the ID node; and then sends a message to the server reporting the event candidate relative to the ID node.
