SR INFORMATION OBTAINMENT METHOD AND SR NETWORK ESTABLISHMENT METHOD
20170317929 · 2017-11-02 · ·

A Section Route (SR) information obtainment method and an SR network establishment method are described. The SR information obtainment method includes: notifying each other the SR information among the nodes in an Autonomous System (AS) domain in the SR domain via Interior Gateway Protocol (IGP); notifying and exchanging the SR information among the cross-domain nodes in the SR domain, or among the border nodes and the cross-domain nodes in the AS domain, via Multi-Protocol Border Gateway Protocol (MP-BGP).

IN-BAND MANAGEMENT INTERFACE WITH USER SPACE DATAPATH
20220060355 · 2022-02-24 ·

A method of utilizing the same hardware network interface card (NIC) in a gateway of a datacenter to communicate datacenter tenant packet traffic and packet traffic for a set of applications that execute in the user space of the gateway and utilize a network stack in the kernel space of the gateway. The method sends and receives packets for the datacenter tenant packet traffic through a packet datapath in the user space. The method sends incoming packets from the NIC to the set of applications through the datapath in the user space, a user-kernel transport driver connecting the kernel network stack to the datapath in the user space, and the kernel network stack. The method receives outgoing packets at the NIC from the set of applications through the kernel network stack, the user-kernel transport driver, and the data path in the user space.

OPTIMIZED IN-NETWORK RETRANSMISSION FOR INFORMATION-CENTRIC NETWORKING PROTOCOLS

One embodiment includes receiving a notification at a communications network node; determining a lowest cost path for implementing a next hop for the notification; determining a best alternate path for the next hop; comparing a cost of the best alternate path with a value stored in a notification header field; updating the header field value to equal the cost of the best alternate path if the cost of the best alternate path is less than the header field value; and forwarding the notification along the lowest cost path. Some embodiments include receiving a NACK at the node; comparing a cost of the best alternate path with a NACK header field value; and retransmitting the notification along the best alternate path if the NACK header field value is greater than or equal to the cost of the best alternate path.

Address Grouping for Distributed Service Rules
20170317928 · 2017-11-02 ·

Some embodiments provide a method for a network controller that manages a flow-based managed forwarding element (MFE). The method receives multiple service rules for implementation by the MFE. Each service rule matches over a set of network addresses. At least one network address is in the set of network addresses for at least two service rules. The method groups the network addresses into non-overlapping groups of network addresses, each of which addresses that are all matched by only a same set of service rules. The method generates flow entries that match over the groups of network addresses for the MFE to use to implement the service rules.

WiFi boost with uplink offload to LTE with independent IP addresses

A local gateway and router device is configured to route uplink IP packets from a base station to a network element of a wireless local area network (WLAN) by configuring an IP route for the uplink IP packets based on a source IP address of the uplink IP packets. The source IP address is obtained from the WLAN; the uplink IP packets originate from a user equipment application having the source IP address; and the uplink IP packets have an indicator indicating that the uplink IP packets were received at the base station over a cellular link between the user equipment and the base station.

Separating network traffic among virtual servers

Techniques for routing network traffic in a storage processor involve providing per-IP routing tables for each IP address of a virtual server and a per-server routing table. These per-IP and per-server routing tables specify its own interface(s) with external network(s). The storage processor assigns each outbound protocol data unit (PDU), generated by a particular virtual server, to either a per-IP routing table or a per-server routing table provided for that virtual server. The assignment of the routing table is based on source IP address or a connection mark associated with an outbound PDU. The per-IP or per-server routing table(s) identifies an interface through which the packet is routed to the destination IP address.

Routing Rule Management Method and Communications Apparatus
20220060416 · 2022-02-24 ·

A routing rule management method and a communications apparatus, where after a first user plane function network element receives, through a protocol data unit (PDU) session, a first data packet, from a terminal, whose source address is a first address, the first user plane function network element generates a first routing rule corresponding to the PDU session when determining that the first address is an unknown media access control (MAC) address, and where the first routing rule is used to forward, to the PDU session, a data packet sent to the first address. After detecting the unknown MAC address, the first user plane function network element may generate a routing rule corresponding to the unknown MAC address without involvement of a session management function network element.

MAPPING BETWEEN CLASSICAL URLs AND ICN NETWORKS

A method for routing a request for content from a content provider through an IPv6 network is described, the IPv6 network being an information centric network (ICN) in which content is directly addressed using at least a portion of an IPv6 address. The method includes receiving, at an IPv6 network, a request for content, determining that the request does not comprise an ICN address. The method further includes intercepting the request, and translating the request into an IPv6 address in which at least a portion of the address is directed to or associated with the piece of content. Systems and methods described herein address problems arising from the interaction between IP and ICN networking models.

Communication method and communications apparatus

A communication method and a communications apparatus, where the method includes: assigning, by a control plane device, an Internet Protocol (IP) address to a user equipment; obtaining, by the control plane device using a routing policy network element, a routing rule corresponding to the IP address; and sending, by the control plane device, the routing rule and the IP address to the user equipment, where the routing rule is used by the user equipment to determine a source IP address when the user equipment initiates a service.

Information processing apparatus and route setting method

An information processing apparatus includes a processor configured to perform a process which includes determining an address available to be set as a source address of a first packet to be transmitted to an apparatus included in a network; identifying one or more relay apparatuses in a communication route from the apparatus to the information processing apparatus; and configuring, for at least one of the identified relay apparatuses, a setting regarding a transfer destination of a second packet whose destination address is the determined address in such a manner that the second packet is transferred toward the information processing apparatus along the communication route.
