Caching with dynamic and selective compression of content
Dynamic and selective compression for content caching is provided for improving content delivery over a digital network. The dynamic and selective compression increased server cache size for higher cache-hit ratios that offset delays associated with compressing and decompressing content. The dynamic compression involves switching between an available set of compression tools in order to compress different files with the compression tool that is optimal for that file. The selective compression involves selectively compressing the content or files with the optimal compression tool when at least a threshold amount of space savings is obtained in an acceptable amount of time. Thus, the caching server caches compressed copies of a first set of files compressed with a first compression tool, compressed copies of a second set of files compressed with a different second compression tool, and an uncompressed third set of files.
Regulating a replication operation
A technique includes determining at least one metric associated with a replication operation to replicate at least a portion of a first object stored on one of a client, a first storage appliance and a second storage appliance onto another one of the client, the first storage appliance and the second storage appliance. The technique further includes regulating the replication operation including selectively regulating at least one parameter of the replication operation based on the metric(s).
Hash partial matching for discovery
Methods, systems, and devices are described that allow for partial matching of published services or service names, including compressed service names. The described features employ compression techniques, including hashing; and they allow for partial matching of compressed service name strings. Various embodiments are described that provide for identifying a desired service (or attributes of a desired service) and comparing one or more advertised attributes. The comparison of desired and advertised attributes may be utilized to determine, select, and or locate an advertised service.
Real-time scalable virtual session and network analytics
Provided herein are systems and methods for providing insights or metrics in connection with provisioning applications and/or desktop sessions to end-users. Network devices (e.g., appliances, intermediary devices, gateways, proxy devices or middle-boxes) can gather insights such as network-level statistics. Additional insights (e.g., metadata and metrics) associated with virtual applications and virtual desktops can be gathered to provide administrators with comprehensive end-to-end real-time and/or historical reports of performance and end-user experience (UX) insights. Insights relating to an application or desktop session can be used to determine and/or improve the overall health of the infrastructure of the session, Citrix Virtual Apps and Desktops, the applications (e.g., remote desktop application) being delivered using the infrastructure, and/or the corresponding user experience.
Method and device for browsing network data, and storage medium
Disclosed are a method and a device for browsing network data, and a storage medium, and the method is operable on a device for browsing network data and includes: requesting for acquisition of network data, which includes thumbnail media data used for the thumbnail display of original media data; acquiring the thumbnail media data and data amount information of the original media data corresponding to the thumbnail media data; and displaying the thumbnail media data and the data amount information. By the disclosure, a user of an Internet terminal may obtain the relevant information of the original media data, so that unnecessary data acquiring operations by the user may be reduced, the waste of network traffic is reduced and the standby time of the Internet terminal is prolonged.
DEVICE AND METHOD FOR TRANSMITTING AND RECEIVING VOICE DATA IN WIRELESS COMMUNICATION SYSTEM
Provided are a device and a method for transmitting and receiving voice data in a wireless communication system. A method for operating a transmission terminal for transmitting a voice signal comprises the steps of: generating sampling and bitrate request information including sampling information for determining a sampling rate of the voice signal and bitrate information for determining a bitrate of the voice signal, and transmitting the generated sampling and bitrate request information to a reception terminal; receiving, from the reception terminal, combined determination information obtained by at least one combination of the sampling rate determined on the basis of the sampling information and the bitrate determined on the basis of the bitrate information; and compressing the voice signal according to the received combined determination information, and transmitting the compressed voice signal to the reception terminal.
GIS BASED COMPRESSION AND RECONSTRUCTION OF GPS DATA FOR TRANSMISSION FROM A VEHICULAR EDGE PLATFORM TO THE CLOUD
Example implementations described herein are directed to a system involving a cloud architecture and an edge architecture associated with one or more vehicles. The edge architecture can involve devices associated with the one or more vehicles and can conduct edge processing to determine, from Global Positioning Satellite (GPS) information, a proximity of the first apparatus to a first Geographic Information System (GIS) waypoint relative to a second GIS waypoint, generate index information representative of the proximity of the apparatus to the first GIS waypoint relative to the second GIS waypoint; and transmit the index information to the cloud architecture.
SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR COMPRESSING CONTENT CENTRIC NETWORKING MESSAGES
A computer system can compress or decompress a type-length-value (TLV) component in a message. During operation, the computer can select a compression table associated with a network interface used to send and/or to receive the message, and can search the compression table for an entry that includes a prefix of a value from type-length-value (TLV) component being compressed or decompressed. If compressing the message, the computer may generate a compressed block that corresponds to a compressed version of the TLV component, such that the compressed block includes the compression encoding in place of the prefix in the TLV component's value. The computer can also generate a compressed message that includes the compressed block in place of the TLV component, without a compression table.
COMPRESSING USER DATA TRANSMITTED BETWEEN A LOWER LAYER SPLIT CENTRAL UNIT AND A RADIO UNIT USING BITMAP REPRESENTATIONS
A method for transmitting user data from a lower-layer split central unit (LLS-CU) to a radio unit (RU) in a network node of a wireless communication system for transmission by the RU over a wireless interface includes mapping reference symbols to be transmitted by the RU to resource elements to provide mapped data. The mapped data including the references symbols is compressed using a bitmap representation of the mapped data to obtain compressed data. The compressed data is transmitted from the LLS-CU to the RU.
WIRELESS DEVICE, A NETWORK NODE AND METHODS THEREIN FOR TRAINING OF A MACHINE LEARNING MODEL
A wireless device and a method therein for assisting a network node to perform training of a machine learning model. The wireless device collects a number of successive data samples. Further, the wireless device successively creates compressed data by associating each collected data sample to a cluster. The cluster has a cluster centroid, a cluster counter representative of a number of collected data samples determined to be normal and being associated with the cluster, and a number of outlier collected data samples associated with the cluster. Then, the wireless device updates the cluster centroid to correspond to a mean position of all normal data samples that are associated with the cluster, and increases the cluster counter by one for each normal data sample that is associated with the cluster. The wireless device transmits the compressed data to the network node.
