A wireless communication device and a communication method for header repetition are described. The device and method receive and decode a wireless packet through a communication channel. Formats of the wireless packet includes a first packet format and a second packet format. In this regard, the first packet format comprises a first header field carried by a first orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) symbol while the second packet format comprises both the first header field carried by the first OFDM symbol and a second header field carried by a second OFDM symbol which follows the first OFDM symbol. The second header field is a repetition of the first header field. According to an exemplary embodiment, the second packet format is distinguished from the first packet format by detecting, from the received wireless packet, the second header field which repeats the first header field.

A packet processing technique can include receiving a packet, and parsing the packet based on a protocol field to generate a parse result vector. The parse result vector is used to select between forwarding the packet to a virtual machine executing on a host processing integrated circuit, forwarding the packet to a physical media access controller, multicasting the packet to multiple virtual machines executing on the host processing integrated circuit, and sending the packet to a hypervisor.

MULTI-PATH TRANSPORT DESIGN

Disclosed herein is a method including receiving, from a user application, data to be transmitted from a source address to a destination address using a single connection through a network; and splitting the data into a plurality of packets according to a communication protocol. For each packet of the plurality of packets, a respective flowlet for the packet to be transmitted in is determined from a plurality of flowlets. Assignment of the flowlets to the packets can be dynamically adjusted based on utilization of the flowlets.

APPARATUS AND METHOD FOR CONDUCTING ENDPOINT-NETWORK-MONITORING

Provided is an intrusion detection technique configured to: obtain kernel-filter criteria indicative of which network traffic is to be deemed potentially malicious, determine that a network packet is resident in a networking stack, access at least part of the network packet, apply the kernel-filter criteria to the at least part of the network packet and, based on applying the kernel-filter criteria, determining that the network packet is potentially malicious, associate the network packet with an identifier of an application executing in userspace of the operating system and to which or from which the network packet is sent, and report the network packet in association with the identifier of the application to an intrusion-detection agent executing in userspace of the operating system of the host computing device, the intrusion-detection agent being different from the application to which or from which the network packet is sent.

FLEXIBLE REMOTE DIRECT MEMORY ACCESS

Apparatus and methods are disclosed herein for remote, direct memory access (RDMA) technology that enables direct memory access from one host computer memory to another host computer memory over a physical or virtual computer network according to a number of different RDMA protocols. In one example, a method includes receiving remote direct memory access (RDMA) packets via a network adapter, deriving a protocol index identifying an RDMA protocol used to encode data for an RDMA transaction associated with the RDMA packets, applying the protocol index to a generate RDMA commands from header information in at least one of the received RDMA packets, and performing an RDMA operation using the RDMA commands.
