Method and apparatus for multipath communication
In accordance with an example embodiment of the present invention, there is provided a method, comprising exchanging connectivity information, setting up a connection, determining that a correspondent node has at least one access in an inactive state, and transmitting a request to the correspondent node to activate at least one of the at least one access in an inactive state. The setting up may be done based on the exchanged connectivity information.
Electronic apparatus and control method thereof
Disclosed is an electronic apparatus comprising an interface, a sensor. and a processor configured to detect occurrence of a user event, which corresponds to a command issued to transmit content, through the sensor, identify an external apparatus, which corresponds to the user event, through the interface, identify content to be transmitted and a method of transmitting the content based on current operation circumstances of the electronic apparatus, and transmit the content to the external apparatus through the interface based on the identified method of transmitting the content.
Wireless vehicular communications with channel allocation involving different protocols
Aspects of the present disclosure are directed to methods and/or apparatuses involving stations (102, 104, 105) participating in wireless station-to-station communications in which each of a plurality of stations shares a wireless communications channel (101). Information is collected wirelessly (102) from transmissions associated with a first communication protocol and from transmissions associated with a second communication protocol. A current communication environment is dynamically discerned therefrom (102), and used to characterize a dynamic relationship of the collected information, which is indicative of respective usage of the wireless communication channel by data transmitted via the respective protocols. Usage of the channel is allocated (102) for respective communications that use the first and second communication protocols based on the dynamic relationship. Sets of data (110, 111, 120, 121, 122) are wirelessly transmitted via the first and second communication protocols over the channel, based on the allocated usage.
Method and system for sharing applications among a plurality of electronic devices
A method and system for sharing an application among a plurality of electronic devices includes registering the plurality of electronic devices with a first electronic device. The method includes storing information regarding device capabilities of the plurality of electronic devices in a device information database. The method includes storing information regarding requirements of the application in the device information database. The plurality of electronic devices is selected by the first electronic device. The method includes executing the application in the first electronic device as a request initiated by second electronic device. Execution is performed by utilizing processor resources in the first electronic device. The method includes maintaining synchronization of the first electronic device and the plurality of electronic devices. The method includes rendering output data of the application in at least one of the plurality of electronic devices.
Service discovery
Service discovery and other operations related to enabling devices to announce, discover or otherwise control their services and/or the services offered or available from other devices is contemplated. The service discovery may facilitating service discovery for services sourced from devices inside and outside of a network and/or from devices having incompatible messaging capabilities.
System and method for managing media and signaling in a communication platform
Systems and methods for communicating media between a client and a media server. Responsive to a communication initiation received by a signaling controller from a client system, the signaling controller invites a media server by providing an invitation to the media server. The media server is bridged with the client system by controlling a media proxy service to establish a media proxy between the client system and the media server by using client media parameters of the first communication initiation and media server media parameters provided by the media server responsive to the invitation. Media is communicated between the external client system and the media server by using the established media proxy.
Providing distributed managed communications functionality via multiple mobile devices
Techniques are described for providing functionality to users of mobile devices, including coordinating the inter-connection of multiple mobile devices, such as for multiple mobile devices of multiple distinct types, and optionally using multiple different types of inter-connections. In some situations, the described techniques include performing matchmaking operations to determine whether and/or how a group of multiple inter-connected mobile devices will provide functionality to each other and/or will access functionality from one or more remote server computing systems, including to select a host mobile device for the group. In addition, in some situations, the described techniques include providing a distributed display canvas functionality, by using the displays of multiple inter-connected mobile devices of a group to display some or all of the graphical user interface (“GUI”) of an application, such as by displaying on each mobile device a distinct portion of the GUI specific to that mobile device.
RAN-assisted rate adaptation
A base station transmits a rate recommendation to a first user equipment (UE) device. The rate recommendation is to be used for a Voice over Long-Term Evolution (VoLTE) call between the first UE device and a second UE device. In some instances, the first UE device and the second UE device negotiate the rate to be used for the VoLTE call, based on the rate recommended by the base station. If the negotiated rate is supported by the base station and/or matches a supported codec rate, the UE devices implement the rate and provide rate feedback to the base station.
Placement-dependent communication channels in distributed systems
A first component of a network-accessible service is configured to participate in client-server interactions with other components of the service via a default communication channel. The first component has access to an alternate communication channel available only to a subset of components of the service. Using the alternate communication channel, the first component reaches a local workload agreement with a second component, in accordance with which at least some service requests of the first component or the second component are fulfilled using the alternate communication channel.
Method and Device for Resource Sharing Between Stations in Wireless Local Area Network
Provided are a method and device for sharing resources between stations in a Wireless Local Area Network (WLAN). A primary node receives a radio frame sent by a secondary node, the secondary node being a secondary node that gains a Transmission Opportunity (TXOP), and Uplink Multi-User (UL MU) shared information is carried in the radio frame; and the primary node sends a feedback frame to the secondary node in response to the radio frame, the feedback frame carrying multi-user information of shared secondary node(s), and the shared secondary node(s) being one or more secondary nodes that perform UL MU shared transmission with the secondary node which gains a TXOP.
