PRESENCE-BASED COMMUNICATIONS IN A CONTROLLED ENVIRONMENT
Disclosed herein are system, method, and computer program product embodiments for providing presence-based secure communications in a controlled environment. In an embodiment, a presence management system monitors communication status information related to communication devices within a controlled facility as well as communication devices external to the controlled facility. Communication statuses indicate the availability of users to receive certain types of communications, such as, for example, video conferencing, audio calls, and/or textual messages. In embodiments, secure communications are provided between inmates and approved individuals, such as medical or legal professionals, based on the communication statuses. Such secure communications are encrypted and not monitored for content.

Techniques for accessing logical networks via a virtualized gateway
Disclosed are various embodiments for receiving, via a network, a request from a client to establish a network tunnel over the network. A credential is received from the client in order to establish the network tunnel. The client is authenticated based upon the credential. The client negotiates, via the network, to establish the network tunnel.

IMMERSIVE TELECONFERENCING AND TELEPRESENCE
Embodiments may relate to a user equipment (UE) that is configured to determine a real-time transport protocol (RTP) media flow that includes visual data related to a plurality of images concurrently taken of a location and a supplemental information enhancement (SEI) message that is to be used to display at least a portion of the visual data. The UE is further configured to visually display, based on the visual data and the SEI message, the portion of the visual data to a user of the user device. Other embodiments may be described or claimed.
Providing media content to content consumers for playback and consumption
Media content items is provided to content consumers for playback by the disclosed system that includes plurality of nodes interacting with each other based on a defined protocol in communication network. A first node associated with a first participant receives a request for playback of a media content from a content consumer. A second node associated with a second participant provides media content rights to the first participant and/or the content consumer. The first node further provides media content metadata to the consumer device for consumption. A plurality of instances of a distributed media rights transaction ledger, associated with respective node, includes a plurality of media content rights transactions which corresponds to an acquisition of the media content rights by the first participant and/or content consumer prior to the consumption of the media content, and are managed by the plurality of nodes in accordance with the defined protocol.

POLICY MANAGEMENT SYSTEM TO PROVIDE AUTHORIZATION INFORMATION VIA DISTRIBUTED DATA STORE
A distributed policy management (PM) system (e.g., system for authentication, authorization, and accounting (AAA) activities on a network) is provided. Nodes of the PM system may share information of the PM system using a distributed data store (e.g., a multi-master cache). Each node of the distributed PM system may further share information from the distributed data store with other nodes of a corporate infrastructure network by augmenting information in a remote authentication dial-in user service (RADIUS) protocol message. Nodes that are involved in policy management (e.g., network authentication server (NAS) or firewall) without access to the distributed data store may receive information via augmented RADIUS messages. In this manner, devices may be interfaced to the distributed PM system without having access to the distributed data store. High availability and load balancing implementations may be provided by leveraging the distributed data store across nodes of the PM system.

WIRELESS MESSAGING METHOD AND SERVER
A method performed by a mobile wireless device may comprise receiving an SMS message or an EMS message indicating a client program, when a phone number associated with the mobile wireless device is not associated with a subscriber of a service associated with the client program at the time of receiving the SMS message. The method may further comprise downloading the client program on the mobile wireless device and authenticating, via the client program, the phone number associated with the mobile wireless device to the service via SMS protocol. After the authenticating, the client program may cause transmission of first information comprising a first phone number. The client program may receive a first response to the transmission of the first information indicating that the first phone number is associated with a subscriber of the service.
