A packet processor of a network device includes a forwarding engine that is configured to determine egress network interfaces via which packets received by the network device are to be transmitted. The packet processor also includes a header parser configured to parse header information in the packets received by the network device. The header parser includes a first parsing circuit that is configured to parse a first portion of a header of a packet and to prompt a programmable second parsing circuit to parse a second portion of the header. The first portion of the header has a header structure known to the first parsing circuit. The programmable second parsing circuit includes configurable circuitry and a memory to store control information that controls operation of the configurable circuitry to parse the second portion of the header.

Timing synchronization service and distribution system

This disclosure describes techniques for delivering high-accuracy and high-precision clock synchronization in heterogeneous distributed computer clusters. For example, the disclosure describes a synchronization engine that sets efficient clock synchronization processes based on a cluster node's characteristics, pricing, precision, geolocation, and/or cluster topology, while in some cases using a combination of master clock data with internal atomic clocks of computers. The techniques described herein integrate the synchronization engine into a time synchronization process that may provide stability, versatility, precision and cost balance using technical improvements for characterizing timing system delivery channels.

DATA SENDING METHOD AND DEVICE, DATA RECEIVING METHOD AND DEVICE, AND SYSTEM

A device generates a remote direct memory access (RDMA) packet, where a payload part of the RDMA packet includes a plurality of data blocks and protection information (PI) corresponding to each of the plurality data blocks in to-be-sent data; or a payload part of the RDMA packet includes one data unit or a part of data in the data unit of to-be-sent data, the data unit includes one data block and PI corresponding to the data block, and a length of the data unit is equal to an integer multiple of a length of the part of data; and sends the RDMA packet.

Interacting with a Database and Network Function

Embodiments disclosed herein include a method for interacting with a network function associated with a database. The method comprises sending a request to the network function, wherein the request specifies at least one function associated with a provider of the database. The request specifies the at least one function in a standard representation common to a plurality of database providers including the provider of the database, and the at least one function associated with the provider of the database comprises proprietary functionality of the database or a proprietary system to access the database.

Storing data in accordance with encoded data slice revision levels in a storage network

A method includes receiving, by a storage unit of a set of storage units of a storage network, a write request of a set of write requests that includes a first group of slice payloads for first encoded data slices of each set of a plurality of sets of encoded data slices and a corresponding revision level. The method includes processing, by the storage unit, the write request by determining whether the corresponding revision level of each of the first encoded data slices is a next revision level and generating a write response message that includes a group of status messages for the first encoded data slices based on the determining whether the corresponding revision level of each of the first encoded data slices is the next revision level. The method continues by sending the write response message to a computing device of the storage network.

Electronic message translation management

A computer-implemented method of operation of a translation manager intermediating message distribution in a plurality of networked devices, comprising receiving at the translation manager a request from a networked device for registration; parsing the message by the translation manager to derive an identifier of the networked device; determining by the translation manager at least one capability of the networked device; creating a pairing of the identifier of the networked device and a profile comprising the at least one capability of the networked device; storing the pairing in a data store for use by the translation manager on request to translate a message. The storing the pairing may comprise populating a lookup table and/or operating a database.

USING LATENT DIAGNOSTIC CAPABILITIES FOR ADDITOINAL CAN BUS MONITORING

Systems and methods are provided for enhancing diagnosis of control logic by automatically triggering latent or quiescent diagnostic logic in response to a CAN bus signal and without requiring a software update of the control logic. The diagnostic logic may be triggered to provide an increase in the frequency of CAN messages that are generated. The diagnostic logic may be further triggered to provide a generation of additional CAN messages reporting operation signals beyond those that are normally generated. The diagnostic logic may be further triggered to provide higher priority to selected CAN messages reporting operation signals. The diagnostic logic may be still further triggered to one or more of increase the frequency of selected CAN report messages, generate additional CAN messages reporting operation signals beyond those that are normally generated, and/or provide higher priority to selected CAN messages reporting operation signals, each without requiring a software update.
