SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR NETWORK INCIDENT IDENTIFICATION AND ANALYSIS
20170302505 · 2017-10-19 ·

A system and method for automatic detection of a network incident from real-time network data is disclosed. The method includes: collecting real-time network data; executing performance calculations on the real-time network data to compute performance metrics; and detecting a pattern over a time window, wherein detecting a pattern includes detecting a proportion of metric values crossing a threshold exceeding a defined percentage amount, detecting a presence of a sequence of metric values, detecting a time-ordered stretch of metric values with a length of the time-ordered stretch exceeding a defined threshold, detecting a cyclical presence of a sequence of metric values, or combinations thereof.

Method for the transmission of audio contents in a hybrid receiver, system, receiver and program associated with the method
11258841 · 2022-02-22 · ·

A method of transmitting an audio and/or audiovisual content to a receiver. The method starts with receiving a determined stream broadcast on a network and playing back the contents transmitted by the stream in the receiver. Then a first event external to the receiver is detected and triggers interruption of the playback of the content in progress and recording of the instant of the interruption. Sometime later, a second external event triggers a transmission, from the receiver to a remote server, of the instant dating the first event and of a request for resuming the playback of the interrupted content. A piece of information specifying the identifiers of the data packets of the content at the instant of the interruption is then transmitted from the remote server to the receiver. Finally, the receiver receives the identified data packets and replays the content of the packets.

Method and system for reducing message passing for contention detection in distributed SIP server environments

A method, a system, and a computer program product are provided for reducing message passing for contention detection in distributed SIP server environments. The method is implemented in a computer infrastructure having computer executable code tangibly embodied on a computer readable storage medium having programming instructions operable to determine that a first site is waiting for a first object locked by a second site. The programming instructions are further operable to determine that a third site is waiting for a second object locked by the first site, and to send a first probe to the second site to determine whether the second site is waiting. A second probe is received and indicates that a site is waiting for an object locked by the first site. The second probe further indicates a deadlock in a distributed server environment to be resolved.

Dynamic topology switch for data replication
11258852 · 2022-02-22 · ·

The present disclosure involves systems, software, and computer implemented methods for performing dynamic topology switch in a failover operation. In one example, a failover of a first node is determined. The first node includes a first data server and a first replication server. At least one user application connects to the first data server prior to the failover of the first node. In response to the determined failover, the at least one user application is connected to a second data server of a second node. The second node includes the second data server and a second replication server. Prior to the failover of the first node, a data replication topology of the second node is a remote topology. During the failover, if the first replication server on the first node is down, the data replication topology of the second node is switched from the remote topology to a local topology.

Network function virtualization service chaining

Systems and methods for managing a service set in network function virtualization (NVF) are provided. A service set can be defined as an ordered list of services to be applied to packet traffic and assigned to instances of the services in a distributed pool of virtual hosts. Responsive to determining that a first service in the service set is to be transferred from a first host to a second host, other services in the service set can also be identified to be transferred to the second host to maintain quality of service and latency as a packet is processed by the service set.

Transport accelerator implementing extended transmission control functionality

Transport accelerator (TA) systems and methods for accelerating delivery of content to a user agent (UA) of a client device are provided according to embodiments of the present disclosure. Embodiments comprise a TA architecture implementing a connection manager (CM) and a request manager (RM). A CM of embodiments requests chunks of content from a content server, receives data in response to requesting the chunks of content, wherein the received data is missing data from a requested chunk of content, and provides a receipt acknowledgement (ACK) for the missing data. The received data, which is missing data from a requested chunk of the chunks of content, may be passed through a communication protocol stack to an application for assembly into a one or more content objects.

Tagging pump messages with identifiers that facilitate restructuring
11670416 · 2023-06-06 · ·

Various techniques for facilitating communication with and across a clinical environment and a cloud environment are described. For example, a method for tagging messages with facility identifiers in a manner that does not require changing the identifiers when logically re-arranging the facilities. A connectivity adapter in the clinical environment can receive a message from an infusion pump and tag the message with only permanent IDs such that when the facility in which the connectivity resides is categorized under a different system or region, the identifiers in the message need not be updated.

ARBITRATION PROCESSING METHOD AFTER CLUSTER BRAIN SPLIT, QUORUM STORAGE APPARATUS, AND SYSTEM
20170293613 · 2017-10-12 · ·

The present disclosure discloses an arbitration processing solution when brain split occurs in cluster. The solution includes: receiving, by a quorum storage apparatus within a first refresh packet detection period, first master quorum node preemption requests sent by at least two quorum nodes in the cluster; sending, by the quorum storage apparatus, a first master quorum node preemption success response message to the initial master quorum node indicating that the initial master quorum node succeeds in master quorum node preemption when the first master quorum node preemption requests received within the first refresh packet detection period comprise the master quorum node preemption request sent by the initial master quorum node.
