NEWNODE: DECENTRALIZED CONTENT DISTRIBUTION NETWORK
20210360061 · 2021-11-18 ·

A method and apparatus of a device that downloads content to a local device using a decentralized content distribution network is described. In an exemplary embodiment, the device receives a request from an application to download content using the decentralized content distribution network. In addition, the device determines a plurality of nodes in the decentralized content distribution network to download the content. For each of the plurality of nodes, the device attempts to establish communications between the device and that node. In addition, the device downloads a portion of the content from that node if communication is established between the local device and that node, wherein the size of the portion is based on at least a characteristic of that node. Furthermore, the device downloads a portion of the content from a proxy if communication cannot be established between the local device and that node, wherein the size of the portion is based on at least a characteristic of that proxy.

Reduced hierarchy key management system and method

A controller receives an encrypted media stream (“EMS”) and an identifier indicative of a selected content key from a headend. The EMS is encrypted with an encryption key and can be decrypted with a corresponding decryption key which is determinable from the selected content key. The controller receives indexes and content keys from the headend prior to receiving the EMS. Each index respectively corresponds to an identifier with one index corresponding to the identifier indicative of the selected content key. The content keys correspond to the indexes with one content key corresponding to the index corresponding to the identifier indicative of the selected content key. The controller selects the index corresponding to the identifier indicative of the selected content key upon receiving the EMS, determines the selected content key from the selected index, determines the decryption key from the selected content key, and decrypts the EMS with the decryption key.

Method and system for secure over-the-top live video delivery
11122313 · 2021-09-14 · ·

A method is provided for managing key rotation (use of series of keys) and secure key distribution in over-the-top content delivery. The method provided supports supplying a first content encryption key to a content packaging engine for encryption of a first portion of a video stream. Once the first content encryption key has expired, a second content encryption key is provided to the content packaging engine for encryption of a second portion of a video stream. The method further provides for notification of client devices of imminent key changes, as well as support for secure retrieval of new keys by client devices. A system is also specified for implementing a client and server infrastructure in accordance with the provisions of the method.

SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR EFFICIENT AND SECURE TEMPORARY ANONYMOUS ACCESS TO MEDIA CONTENT
20210288967 · 2021-09-16 ·

A method for providing access to media content from a media content provider is performed at an electronic device. The method includes receiving, from a client device, a request for access to a media item. The request for access includes a self-describing user-identifier. The method includes, in response to the request for access to the media item, initiating an analysis to determine whether the client device is authorized to access the media item, the analysis including an examination of a media consumption log associated with the client device. The media consumption log stores data representing self-describing user-identifiers. The analysis includes, based on the examination of the media consumption log, detecting multiple requests from different self-describing user identifiers corresponding to the client device to determine whether the client device has reached an access limit and, when the client device has reached the access limit, terminating access to the media item.

A METHOD OF GENERATING A SECURE RECORD OF A CONVERSATION
20210297395 · 2021-09-23 ·

A method is provided for generating a tamper-proof record of a conversation recorded using a recording device. During or after the recording, successive sections, chunks or other form of fragments of the audio recording are sent continuously or intermittently to a secure remote server. The successive fragments are automatically encrypted and stored securely on the recording device until a network connection is available.

SECURE EXCHANGE OF CRYPTOGRAPHICALLY SIGNED RECORDS
20210281425 · 2021-09-09 ·

Systems and methods for securely exchanging cryptographically signed records are disclosed. In one aspect, after receiving a content request, a sender device can send a record to a receiver device (e.g., an agent device) making the request. The record can be sent via a short range link in a decentralized (e.g., peer-to-peer) manner while the devices may not be in communication with a centralized processing platform. The record can comprise a sender signature created using the sender device's private key. The receiver device can verify the authenticity of the sender signature using the sender device's public key. After adding a cryptography-based receiver signature, the receiver device can redeem the record with the platform. Upon successful verification of the record, the platform can perform as instructed by a content of the record (e.g., modifying or updating a user account).

SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR DYNAMICALLY APPLYING INFORMATION RIGHTS MANAGEMENT POLICIES TO DOCUMENTS

Systems and methods are disclosed herein for dynamically applying information rights management (“IRM”) policies to documents. An example system for dynamically applying IRM policies to documents can include a document repository, a proxy server, and a dynamic IRM wrapping service (also referred to herein as an IRM engine). A user can request a document on the document repository by, for example, attempting to access the document from a user device. The user device can be managed by a management server that enrolls the user device and enforces compliance rules and other policies at the user device. The user's request for the document can be received at the proxy server, and the proxy server can then request the document from the document repository.

DECENTRALIZED DOCUMENT AND ENTITY VERIFICATION ENGINE
20210266169 · 2021-08-26 ·

A system and method enabling an entity to prove its identity and provide authentic documents/data/information therein at any time required based upon data retrieved from an independent cryptographically verifiable source (ICVS) through a secured channel is disclosed. The system enables a virtual and secure browser on a user computing device allowing a user to login and retrieve authentic information pertaining to the user from the ICVS in a verifiable and untamperable manner. The retrieved information is bounded with origination information of the ICVS and the bounded information is provided to relying entities as authentic information for verification. Also, cryptographic value of the authentic information can be stored in an immutable storage such as blockchain, so that the cryptographic value is used by the relying-party to validate integrity of the authentic information.

Private data sharing system

A novel architecture for a data sharing system (DSS) is disclosed and seeks to ensure the privacy and security of users' personal information. In this type of network, a user's personally identifiable information is stored and transmitted in an encrypted form, with few exceptions. The only key with which that encrypted data can be decrypted, and thus viewed, remains in the sole possession of the user and the user's friends/contacts within the system. This arrangement ensures that a user's personally identifiable information cannot be examined by anyone other than the user or his friends/contacts. This arrangement also makes it more difficult for the web site or service hosting the DSS to exploit its users' personally identifiable information. Such a system facilitates the encryption, storage, exchange and decryption of personal, confidential and/or proprietary data.
