DEVICE INDEPENDENT TEXT CAPTIONED TELEPHONE SERVICE
20190394330 · 2019-12-26 ·

A communication system and method for displaying text captions corresponding to voice communications between an assisted user's mobile wireless device and a separate hearing user's device includes at least one communication component configured to enable the appliance to communicate with a relay, a display, and a processor operably coupled to the at least one communication component and the display. The processor is configured to enable the assisted user to establish an association between the appliance and the mobile device, receive text originating at the relay, the text corresponding to a transcript of the hearing user's voice signal originating at the hearing user's device, and cause text captions corresponding to the received text to be displayed on the display.

Voice communication method

While in a full-duplex live audio communication session with an external device, an electronic device receives control signal data from the external device. In response, the electronic device issues a perceptual notification. After a first predetermined time period since receiving the control signal data, the electronic device receives audio data from the external device. After a second predetermined time period since issuing the perceptual notification, the electronic device outputs the audio data from the speaker.

Smart receive audio switching for a converged device

An audio receiver for a converged portable radio (LMR/LTE radio) is provided with improved audio management. The converged device is managed by two different processors (BP/AP) and includes a selectable user setting for selecting either an LMR audio mode or an LTE audio mode (or both). Power up timing differences between the two processors is managed through a smart audio switch mechanism which includes AP control logic for selectively enabling and disabling an AP audio switch in response to operational status of both (AP/BP) processors during power up. The smart audio switch system further includes BP control logic for selectively enabling and disabling a BP audio switch in response to the operational status of the processors. Audio is played out at a single speaker. Both LTE audio and LMR audio can be mixed for a predetermined time during power up until the user selected audio mode has been established.

As a user interacts with a voice application, a history of the prompts played to the user and the users responses are displayed to the user. The displayed prompts and displayed responses could be summaries of the prompts and responses, or they could be full transcriptions of the prompts and responses. A user may be able to select a prompt or response in the history to return to a certain point in the voice application. It may be possible for a user to save a history of the interactions that occurred when a voice application was performed, and to recall the history to continue on from a selected location in the history.

VoIP analog telephone system

A multi-port VoIP telecommunications system that allows the user to gain access to telephone connectivity through the Internet by connecting directly to the Internet or by connecting to the Internet through the existing Internet connection of a computer or cell phone device. The present system includes an Ethernet port, a Wi-Fi receiver to facilitate the transmission and receipt of Internet protocol signals wirelessly, a USB plug connectable to the ATA, connectivity to a home monitoring network and connectivity to Bluetooth devices.

METHOD, SYSTEM AND APPARATUS FOR CAUSING A COMMUNICATION CLIENT TO JOIN AMEDIA-OVER-PACKET COMMUNICATION SESSION

Embodiments of the present invention are directed to a method, system and apparatus for causing a communication client to join a media-over-packet communication session. The method comprises receiving from a communication client an indication indicative of a desire of the communication client to establish a communication session, the communication client being registered in association with a user account. The method further comprises determining if there exists at least one active communication session established with at least one other communication client registered in association with the user account. Responsive to determining that there does exist at least one active communication session, the method further comprises causing the communication client to join at least one of the at least one active communication session.

MAINTAINING AN AUTOMOBILE CONFIGURATION OF A MOBILE COMPUTING DEVICE WHILE SWITCHING BETWEEN AUTOMOBILE AND NON-AUTOMOBILE USER INTERFACES

A device is described that, while operating in an automobile configuration, causes a vehicle system of an automobile to display part of an automobile graphical user interface (GUI) while locally displaying a different part of the automobile GUI. Responsive to receiving user input for switching to a non-automobile GUI that permits access to at least some features of the device that are restricted by the automobile GUI, the device replaces the part of the automobile GUI that is locally displayed on the device with the non-automobile GUI, all while continuing to cause the vehicle system to display its part of the automobile GUI. The device accesses the at least some features of the device and responsive to receiving user input for switching back to the automobile GUI, the device replaces the non-automobile GUI with the part of the automobile GUI that was previously displayed by the device.
