ACR buffering in the cloud
A network element of an Internet Protocol multimedia subsystem buffers network resource usage information in the cloud. After generating network resource usage information based on an observation of network resource usage, the network element transmits the network resource usage information to a cloud-based storage service for buffering. Once a network resource usage collection function is available, the network element retrieves the network resource usage information from the cloud-based storage service and transmits it to a charging collection function for generation of call detail records.
Session recovery from dedicated bearer failure
Techniques and systems for recovering a communication session from a dedicated bearer failure are disclosed. For example, a P-CSCF node can determine that a dedicated bearer associated with a communication session has failed, and, in response, send a SIP message to a UE associated with the communication session, the SIP message causing the UE to refrain from sending SIP requests using a SIP INVITE method. The process may further include identifying a first network node associated with an identifier of the UE, the first network node comprising one of a PGW or a SMF, and sending an instruction to the first network node to dissociate the dedicated bearer from the communication session. This causes a new attach procedure to be performed by the UE to recover the session without session failure.
Method and apparatus for distributing content via a wireless communication network
Aspects of the subject disclosure may include, for example, a method including detecting, by a processing system comprising a processor, wireless communication servers that are available for providing content via first wireless communication links to a wireless communication system, receiving unused data capacity information from the wireless communication servers, aggregating comprising a processor, the unused data capacity information from the wireless communication servers to identify broadband bandwidth, receiving, by the processing system, a request for first content from a customer premises device, assigning a first portion of the broadband bandwidth for receiving the first content from the wireless communication servers, requesting the first content from the wireless communication servers according to the assigning, receiving the first content from the wireless communication servers, and transmitting the first content to the customer premises device. Other embodiments are disclosed.
Establishing a session initiation protocol session
The present disclosure describes methods and systems for establishing a Session Initiation Protocol Session. One method includes transmitting a first message requesting authentication configuration information; in response to the first message, receiving a second message that includes the authentication configuration information; transmitting a third message that includes authentication information based upon the received authentication configuration information; receiving an authentication challenge request that is formatted according to the second protocol; and in response to receiving the authentication challenge request, transmitting an authentication response to the second network node.
ENHANCED MESSAGING AS A PLATFORM
Aspects of the invention enhance the capabilities of the MaaP by adding interfaces thereto so that the platform directly interfaces with the OCS, the PCRF, the EIR, the CDB and the HSS without middle layer or without using RCS as an intermediary. Moreover, embodiments of the invention may create a user interface of the MaaP so that users may configure parameters to interact with the network nodes right from the user interface.
Telephony application server charging for evolved packet system fallback
A server of a fifth generation (5G) network can provide substantially real-time charges for a UE during fallback to another network. A Telephony Application Server (TAS) in an IP Multimedia Subsystem (IMS) can identify Evolved Packet System Fallback (EPSFB) and report the EPSFB to a charging system to cause the charging system to generate accurate charges for user equipment communicating over the 5G network and the other network. The TAS can comprise logic to identify a change in P-Access-Network-Information associated with each network, and generate a call detail records for billing, or real-time communication via an online charging and/or offline charging for the served UE. Information (a user profile, call detail records, instance of EPSFB, etc.) associated with the TAS can be used to make network improvements that decrease instances of EPSFB and increase an amount of new radio services available to UEs.
Support for Reporting Failure of Multiple Rules in PFCP Response Messages
A method, computer readable media and a system are disclosed to identify a mechanism to be able to supply multiple “Failed Rule ID” in a single PFCP response message from User Plane (UP) to Control Plane (CP) via the Sx interface for 4G and via the N4 interface for 5G. In one embodiment, a method for operating a wireless network device including a User Plane (UP) and a Control Plane (CP) in communication with the UP, includes configuring, by the CP, multiple rules in the UP; identifying, by the UP, multiple failed rule Identifiers (IDs); supplying, in a single Packet Forwarding Control Protocol (PFCP) response message from the UP to a CP, the multiple failed rule IDs; and determining, by the CP, further action to be taken based on the failed rules.
Calling line/name identification of enterprise subscribers in mobile calls
A system, server, and method of DTMF detection in a VoIP network.
Online charging for multi-user agent instances served by different telephony application servers
Techniques for allowing access based online charging in cases of multiple user agents (multi-UAs) scenarios where the instances are registered to different telephony application servers (TASs) are discussed herein. For example, a user device may support a native number and multiple virtual numbers linked via a user account. When servicing a call, the user device may determine a served number to service the call from. If the served number is not the native number but a virtual number, the native-line server may handle the call session, but the online charging session will be handled by the virtual-line server. The native-line server may use session initiation protocol (SIP) information to send updated information for charging parameters to the virtual-line server, including network access transfer for accuracy in online charging logic.
TELEPHONE COMMUNICATION SYSTEM, TELEPHONE COMMUNICATION METHOD, SETTING SERVER AND SETTING PROGRAM
A call system 5 includes a setup server 1 provided on a communication network which controls communication between a calling terminal 2 and a called terminal 3 and a charging server 4 which charges the calling terminal 2. The setup server 1 includes a setup unit 21 which sets advertisement-related CAT media in a signal addressed to the calling terminal 2 during a call between the calling terminal 2 and the called terminal 3 and a measurement unit 22 which measures a start time and an end time of the setting of the CAT media in the signal addressed to the calling terminal 2. The calling terminal 2 includes a play unit which plays the CAT media. The charging server 4 includes a charge unit which charges the calling terminal 2 on the basis of the measured times.
