Determining an initial number of TCP connections, dynamically determining increases and decreases in the number of TCP connections, and so on depending on a wireless communication method that is used enables a plurality of TCP connections to be used for wireless communication methods having higher communication bandwidths, and can thus improve communication speeds. Meanwhile, a drop in communication speed can be suppressed when using wireless communication methods having lower communication bandwidths.

METHODS, SYSTEMS, AND COMPUTER READABLE MEDIA FOR CLEARING DIAMETER SESSION INFORMATION
20170237781 · 2017-08-17 ·

The subject matter described herein includes methods, systems, and computer readable media for clearing Diameter session information. According to one method, the method occurs at a Diameter routing agent (DRA) node. The method includes identifying an inactive Diameter session associated with a Diameter node. The method also includes generating a trigger message for triggering the Diameter node to delete session information associated with the inactive Diameter session. The method further includes sending the trigger message to the Diameter node.

SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR IDENTIFYING A SEQUENCE OF EVENTS AND PARTICIPANTS FOR RECORD OBJECTS
20220038548 · 2022-02-03 · ·

Methods, systems, and storage media for identifying a sequence of events and participants for record objects are disclosed. Exemplary implementations may: access record objects of a system of record; identify a subset of record objects associated with a group entity and having a first record object status; identify one or more electronic activities linked to the record objects; determine an event-participant pattern based on the electronic activities linked to the record object; identify electronic activities linked with a second record object; determine that a first event is performed by the a participant type and a second event is not yet performed by a second participant type; generate a content item identifying an action to trigger a performance of the second event; and transmit the content item to a device of a participant of at least one electronic activity linked with the second record object.

Changing a data stream characteristic based on a data usage rate

An approach is provided for adjusting a characteristic of a data stream. A rate of data usage provided by one or more data streams within a time period that has not ended is determined. An amount of time remaining in the time period is determined. Based at least in part on the amount of time remaining in the time period and the rate of data usage, an expected amount of data usage within the entire time period is determined. Whether the expected amount of data usage exceeds a limit on data usage within the entire time period is determined. If the expected amount of data usage exceeds the limit, the characteristic of the data stream is adjusted so that actual data usage within the entire time period does not exceed the limit. The actual data usage is based in part on the adjusted characteristic.

In-store reading system

A system and method for providing digital data content to a wireless device. Although a fee is typically charged for access to the digital data content, e.g., electronic books, the system and the method provides controlled access to this content for free while the wireless device is accessing the content in a specified location, e.g., a retail location. A content control server receives a request from the wireless device requesting access to the digital data content. The request is received over a secure connection, preferably a virtual private network (VPN). The content control server monitors how much of the digital data content has been provided to the wireless device, and/or an amount of time the wireless device has been accessing the digital data content. This content control server uses this monitored data to control, throttle, the provision of the digital data content to the wireless device.

COORDINATING CELLULAR AND CABLE/FIBER BROADBAND NETWORKS

Detect, at a cable/fiber broadband network termination unit of a cable/fiber broadband multi-service operator, an interruption in service to a cable/fiber broadband network customer unit—small cell pair. Responsive to detecting the interruption, the termination unit advises a charging server of the operator of the interruption in service, a corresponding identifier of the customer unit—small cell pair, and a corresponding account identifier. Responsive to termination unit advising the charging server, the charging server advises a backend server of an associated cellular network of a customer identifier corresponding to the account identifier. Responsive to the charging server advising the backend server, the backend server advises a policy control function of the associated cellular network to modify network parameters of the associated cellular network to compensate for the interruption in service.

PROVIDING AIRCRAFT IN FLIGHT ROAMING FOR PASSENGER ELECTRONIC DEVICES TO HOME MOBILE NETWORK OPERATOR

An aircraft cabin communication system includes a wireless access point (WAP) and a connectivity server. The WAP transmits a beacon indicating Hotspot capability and identifying an open SSID, establishes a connection with a first passenger electronic device (PED) carried onboard an aircraft responsive to communications received from the first PED using the open SSID, and provides a list of mobile network operators (MNOs) to the first PED. The connectivity server receive a request to setup a PDU session through the Internet for the first PED. The request identifies a mobile network operator (MNO) associated with the first PED. The connectivity server initiates authentication using extensible authentication protocol (EAP) communications with the first PED and an authorization, authentication, and accounting (AAA) server associated with a partner MNO connected with the MNO identified by the first PED. Responsive to the AAA server granting access to the first PED, the connectivity server triggers the WAP to redirect communications with the first WAP to a hidden SSID, sets up the PDU session for the first PED using the hidden SSID, and performs network resource usage measurements for traffic in the PDU session for the first PED.

Methods and system for performing inter-network handover operations in dynamic spectrum arbitrage system

A dynamic spectrum arbitrage (DSA) system includes a dynamic spectrum policy controller (DPC) and a dynamic spectrum controller (DSC) that together dynamically manage the allocation and use of resources (e.g., spectrum resources) across different networks. As part of these operations, the DSC may generate a grid-map structure that includes a primary grid structure that identifies telecommunication cells in a geographical area, and monitor the locations of wireless devices with respect to the telecommunication cells of the grid-map structure to determine whether to initiate inter-network handover operations. The DSC may also receive updated information from the monitored wireless devices (e.g., wireless devices that attached to the resources of the lessee or lessor networks), update the grid-map structure based on the updated information to better account for changes in the availability of resources, and determine whether to initiate inter-network handover operations based on information included in the updated grid-map structure.
