METHOD AND SYSTEM TO PREVENT VOLTAGE SAGGING IN A REDUNDANT POWER SUPPLY CONFIGURATION
Aspects of the subject technology relate to a system and method for preventing voltage sagging using an Oring-FET in a redundant power supply configuration. Each redundant power supply includes an Oring-FET and a voltage comparator. The voltage comparator receives and compares an input voltage and an output voltage of the Oring-FET during power up. In the event input voltage is less than the output voltage, the Oring-FET is deemed to be operating properly and provides output to a communicatively coupled system bus in response to the input voltage reaching a predetermined voltage threshold level. In the event the input voltage is approximately equal to the output voltage, the voltage comparator assists in preventing inrush current from flowing from the communicatively coupled system bus and prevents voltage sagging on the communicatively coupled system bus when another redundant power supply configuration is providing power to the communicatively coupled system bus.
SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR PROVIDING INTERCONNECTED AND SECURE MOBILE DEVICE CHARGING STATIONS
Systems and methods for locating and providing public mobile device charging stations are disclosed. One or more charging stations may be configured to charge a battery of a mobile device. A database may be configured to store location information of the one or more charging stations as well as mobile device location and security credential information of the one or more respective mobile devices. A server communicatively coupled with the one or more charging stations and the database, may be configured to determine a proximity of the one or more charging stations to a location of the mobile device. This determination may be based on the station location information and the mobile device location information. Based on the determined proximity, provide the station location information of the respective one or more charging stations to the mobile device. The charging station further provides photo and/or video surveillance security to verify a user.
System and method for a subscriber powered network element
A system for powering a network element of a fiber optic wide area network is disclosed. When communication data is transferred between a central office (CO) and a subscriber terminal using a network element to convert optical to electrical (O-E) and electrical to optical (E-O) signals between a fiber from the central office and twisted wire pair, coaxial cable or Ethernet cable transmission lines from the subscriber terminal, techniques related to local powering of a network element or drop site by the subscriber terminal or subscriber premise remote powering device are provided. Certain advantages and/or benefits are achieved using the present invention, such as freedom from any requirement for additional meter installations or meter connection charges and does not require a separate power network.
Network relay device
A network relay device includes a main functional portion including a relaying function for network communication, a power supply portion for converting an AC current taken from an external AC power supply to a DC current, and providing the DC current to the main functional portion, a measuring unit for measuring a value of the DC current, after the conversion to the DC current provided from the power supply portion to the main functional portion, and a computing unit for computing a total power consumption of a whole including the main functional portion and the power supply portion, based on a result measured by the measuring unit.
