Electronic device including camera module
An electronic device is disclosed herein, including a housing having an inner space; a display disposed in the inner space and visible from an exterior, the display further including: a display panel having a first opening, at least one additional layer stacked under the display panel and having a second opening larger than the first opening, and a camera disposed in the inner space under the at least one additional layer, facing the second opening, and including: a lens housing, a plurality of lenses supported by the lens housing including a first lens closest to the display panel, and at least one image sensor, wherein the first lens either corresponds to an upper surface of the lens housing or at least partially protrudes from the upper surface of the lens housing.
Phone appliance with display screen and methods of using the same
A phone appliance and method of use are provided where the phone appliance can be used to make VoIP communications calls. In a preferred embodiment, the phone appliance includes an RF connection for connecting to a computer or other computing device for facilitating the placement of the VoIP communications calls. The phone appliance further includes a display or portal for depicting advertisements provided by various advertisers. The advertisements provided can be used to defray all or part of the cost associated with making VoIP communications calls. The portal can also be used to communicate with businesses for ordering products, such as ordering a pizza, and to perform various services, such as purchasing stocks. In an exemplary system, the phone appliance is used to transmit to a control center information related to the user of the phone appliance, such as interests and buying habits, and queries for receiving additional information for various advertised products and services. The control center transmits the queries to the appropriate vendors for providing the user with additional information. Other functions and features are provided to the phone appliance, such as being able to download e-mail messages stored within or received by the computer.
Portable electronic device with interface reconfiguration mode
A portable electronic device displays a plurality of icons (e.g., graphical objects) in a region in a touch-sensitive display; detects a predefined user action, with respect to the touch-sensitive display, for initiating a predefined user interface reconfiguration process; and varies positions of one or more icons in the plurality of icons in response to detecting the predefined user action. The varying includes varying the positions of the one or more icons about respective average positions.
Vehicle user interface
A vehicle gesture control system for a host vehicle, the host vehicle including an adaptive cruise control or autonomous drive arrangement, the system including a sensor to detect gestures performed by a driver on the surface of a steering wheel grip in the host vehicle, the steering wheel grip including a circular tube surrounding a steering wheel that rotates about a steering column, and a processor receiving outputs from the sensor and connected to a memory unit storing instructions for the processor to activate a plurality of features of the adaptive cruise control or autonomous drive arrangement in response to a respective plurality of different gestures detected by the sensor, wherein two of the gestures represent “up” and “down” commands and include movement of the driver's thumb in opposite directions, respectively, around a lateral section of the steering wheel grip that faces the driver.
Display Control Method, Electronic Device, and Computer-Readable Storage Medium
This application provides a display control method, an electronic device, and a computer-readable storage medium. The method includes: displaying a multi-task interface if a first touch operation event entered by a user on a touchscreen of the electronic device is detected, where the first touch operation event is used to start the multi-task interface; and displaying a one-hand operation interface on the electronic device if a second touch operation event entered by the user on the touchscreen is detected in the multi-task interface.
User Input Peripheral
A peripheral device for use with a user terminal, the peripheral device comprising: a non-graphical actuator operable to be actuated by a user; an interface for connecting to the user terminal; and control logic for interfacing with the user terminal in order to control a communication client application running on the user terminal, and to thereby control a voice or video call that is conducted over a packet-based network from the user terminal using the communication client application. The control logic is configured such that the control of the call comprises performing a function in relation to the call in response to actuation of said hardware actuator by the user, and furthermore that the function of the actuation of the actuator is dependent on a current status of the call.
Device, method, and graphical user interface for editing an audio or video attachment in an electronic message
A method is performed at a multifunction device with a display and a touch-sensitive surface. User selection of an audio or video file to be sent in an electronic message is detected. In response to detecting a first input by the user, an audio or video file editing interface is displayed. The editing interface comprises: a time bar, a user-adjustable begin-edit icon, and a user-adjustable end-edit icon. The distance between the user-adjustable begin-edit icon and the user-adjustable end-edit icon is constrained to be equal to or less than a distance that corresponds to a predefined maximum allowable size for the file. In response to detecting a second input by the user on the touch-sensitive surface, at least one of the begin-edit icon and the end-edit icon is adjusted in the audio or video file editing interface. The audio or video file is edited to a shorter.
System and method for facilitating appliance control via a smart device
A bridge device, in communication with a smart device, functions to command one or more controllable appliances in response to communications received from the smart device. The bridge device also includes input elements by which the bridge device can be used to directly command common functional operations of the one or more controllable appliances. In this manner, common functional operations, such as volume control, playback pause/resume control, etc., may be made readily available without necessitating the use of the smart device, while the more sophisticated GUI provided by the smart device remote control app may be advantageously utilized when more complex or less frequently used command functions are to be performed.
Display device
A display device includes: a display panel configured to display an image; a sound element on a rear side of the display panel; and a rear chassis configured to receive the display panel and protect the rear side of the display panel, and including a protruding portion protruding away from the rear side of the display panel and corresponding to the sound element. The sound element includes a pair of electrodes, and a vibration material layer between the electrodes.
Method and apparatus for adjusting and moving a user interface for single handed use on an endpoint device
A method, non-transitory computer readable medium, and apparatus for adjusting and moving a user interface for single handed use on an endpoint device are disclosed. For example, the method determines a thumb span of a hand of a user on a touch screen display of the endpoint device, detects via one or more sensors on the endpoint device that the user is holding the endpoint device with a single hand, adjusting a size of the user interface to be within dimensions of the thumb span in response to the detecting and moves the user interface in a direction towards the single hand in response to the detecting.
