Image shading correction based on printer cover being open or closed
Provided is an image reading apparatus configured to avoid unnecessarily performing shading correction processing. The image reading apparatus detects whether or not an original is placed on an original tray when detecting an open state of an ADF and then detecting a closed state thereof. In a case where the original is placed on the original tray, the image reading apparatus performs shading correction for flow reading, and in a case where no original is placed on the original tray, the image reading apparatus performs shading correction for platen cover reading.
Image reading apparatus with determination of original size, and image forming apparatus, reading method, and image forming system therewith
An image reading apparatus compares a difference in luminance value between a pixel of interest in image information acquired via a reading unit and a pixel separated from the pixel of interest by a first distance with a first threshold value. Further, the image reading apparatus compares a difference in luminance value between the pixel of interest and a pixel present within a range to a pixel separated from the pixel of interest by a second distance that is larger than the first distance with a second threshold value. The image reading apparatus determines whether or not the pixel of interest is an edge pixel at an original end portion based on results of those comparisons, and determines an original size based on a result of the determination.
IMAGE FORMING APPARATUS
An image forming apparatus includes a conveyance part, an image forming part, a sheet detection sensor, a sensor unit, and a controller. The sheet detection sensor, in which a plurality of sensor blocks each with a plurality of sensor elements mounted thereon at specified intervals are arrayed in a sheet width direction, detects an edge position in the sheet width direction on a basis of scanning image data formed by reading of the sheet. The controller is enabled to execute a calibration of inserting, into the scanning image data, interpolation pixels for compensating an error between an edge position detected by the scanning image data and an actual edge position.
IMAGE FORMING APPARATUS, DOCUMENT READING DEVICE AND CONVEYANCE METHOD
An image forming apparatus comprises a tray, a conveyor, a detector and a movement mechanism. The tray accommodates at least one document. The conveyor conveys the document placed on the tray. The detector detects that the document is placed on the tray. The movement mechanism moves the tray from a first position to a second position closer to the conveyor than the first position based on the detection that the document is placed on the tray, and after moving the tray from the first position to the second position, moves the tray to the first position based on a setting of a mixed stacking mode in which mixing of the documents with different sizes on the tray is permitted.
MEDIUM TRANSPORTING DEVICE, IMAGE READING APPARATUS, AND TRANSPORTING CONTROL METHOD
There is provided a medium transporting device including: a medium placement section on which a medium is placed, a feeding roller feeding a medium from the medium placement section, a motion detection sensor detects a motion of a medium, and a controller that stops feeding of a medium based on a detection value received from the motion detection sensor, in which the motion detection sensor is a two-dimensional sensor including a light emitting section and a light receiving section and detecting a motion of a medium, the medium placement section is provided with a placement detector that acquires information relating to a presence/absence of a medium on the medium placement section, and the controller sets a state of the light emitting section to a non-light emitting state when detection information of the placement detector indicates that a medium is absent on the medium placement section.
IMAGE READING APPARATUS AND IMAGE FORMING APPARATUS FOR DETECTING WHETHER SHEET IS PROTRUDING FROM READABLE RANGE
An image reading apparatus comprises a platen, a support, a reader, an open/close unit, a first obtainer, a mark, a positioning member, and a determiner. A position of the mark on a pressing surface of the cover, is provided at a position at which, in a case where a sheet of a maximum size among standard sizes that can entirely fit in a readable range of the reader is positioned with respect to the positioning member, at least a portion of the mark is not hidden by the sheet as viewed from the reader.
IMAGE READING APPARATUS AND IMAGE FORMING SYSTEM
In at least one embodiment of this disclosure, there is provided an image reading apparatus that includes a reader, an upstream reading conveyance rotator pair, at least one upstream conveyance rotator pair, and an upstream separator. The reader reads a detection target image on a sheet. The upstream reading conveyance rotator pair is disposed upstream from the reader in a sheet conveyance direction to convey the sheet. The upstream conveyance rotator pair is disposed upstream from the upstream reading conveyance rotator pair in the sheet conveyance direction to convey the sheet toward the upstream reading conveyance rotator pair. The upstream separator causes one rotator of the upstream conveyance rotator pair to be contacted against and separated from another rotator of the upstream conveyance rotator pair.
IMAGE READING DEVICE, IMAGE FORMING DEVICE, AND CONTROL METHOD
An image forming device includes a CPU. The CPU causes an image reader to collectively read a plurality of documents placed in each divided area of a document placement table and acquire individual images according to a user operation. Furthermore, the CPU generates, for each divided area, an image file that includes the image. In addition, if document reading is executed in a state where a document is placed in an inappropriate position, a notification screen for notifying the user that the document is not appropriately placed is displayed on a display before the image file data is generated.
Anti-skew straightening mechanism
One example embodiment in this disclosure provides an apparatus comprising an opening configured to receive a banknote into a banknote path. The apparatus also includes a plurality of inboard transport wheels positioned in the banknote path and configured to transport the banknote in a direction longitudinal to the banknote path. The apparatus also includes at least one initial transport wheel positioned in the banknote path and nearer to the opening than the plurality of inboard transport wheels, the at least one initial transport wheel configured to transport the banknote from the opening to a first of the plurality of inboard transport wheels. The at least one initial transport wheel causes the banknote to pivot around the first inboard transport wheel when a leading edge of the banknote contacts the first inboard transport wheel. Pivoting causes banknote to contact a second of the plurality of inboard transport wheels.
DOCUMENT SIZE DETECTION DEVICE, IMAGE READING DEVICE, IMAGE FORMING APPARATUS, DOCUMENT SIZE DETECTING METHOD, AND RECORDING MEDIUM
A document size detection device includes: a light source that irradiates a document placed on placing means with scanning light via the placing means; a reading unit that receives reflection light from the document via the placing means to acquire image data of the document; and circuitry to set an illumination depth of the scanning light at a size detection time when the size is detected, shallower than an illumination depth of the scanning light at an image reading time when an image of the document is read, and detects, at the size detection time, the size based on a difference between first image data acquired in a state in which the scanning light is switched off and second image data acquired in a state in which the scanning light is switched on.
