DISPLAY APPARATUS, OPTICAL MEMBER, METHOD FOR MANUFACTURING OPTICAL MEMBER, AND STAMPING APPARATUS
To provide an optical member that enables a light guiding plate to be firmly fixed with certainty to a rim portion using an adhesive.
An optical member of the present disclosure that guides light that enters from an image forming apparatus such that the light exits the optical member to be headed for an observer, includes a light guiding plate 41 that is formed of a resin plate 41′, a first deflection mechanism 42, and a second deflection mechanism 43. Light that enters the light guiding plate 41 from the image forming apparatus is deflected by the first deflection mechanism 42, is totally reflected within the light guiding plate 41 to propagate through the light guiding plate 41, is then deflected by the second deflection mechanism 43, and exits the light guiding plate 41 to be headed for the observer. The light guiding plate 41 includes a protrusion 51 that extends from a portion of a lateral surface of the light guiding plate 41. Further, the light guiding plate 41 is fixed to an interior lateral face 11A of a rim portion 11 using an adhesive 52 in a state in which a tip of the protrusion 51 is in contact with the interior lateral face 11A of the rim portion 11.
HEAD-MOUNTED DISPLAY
In a head-mounted display, a display device includes: a device body on which a rotational moment acts in a direction toward a user's face around a hinge; and a cushion material provided at a peripheral edge of an opposing part facing the user's face in the device body and brought into contact with the user's face. The cushion material includes: an upper cushion part positioned at an upper part of a peripheral edge of the opposing part; and a lower cushion part positioned below the upper cushion part. The lower cushion part has a thickness greater than that of the upper cushion part.
IMAGE DISPLAY UNIT AND HEAD-MOUNTED DISPLAY
Provided are an image display unit and a head-mounted display where the size is small, the light utilization efficiency is high, and a decrease in image quality is small. The image display unit includes: an image display apparatus; a polarization diffraction element that diffracts light emitted from the image display apparatus; and a polarizing plate that allows transmission of the polarized light diffracted by the polarization diffraction element and absorbs light not diffracted by the polarization diffraction element, in which the polarization diffraction element is a polarization diffraction lens having a lens function, and in a case where a focal length of the polarization diffraction lens is represented by f and a distance between the image display apparatus and the polarization diffraction lens is represented by d, d≤f is satisfied.
ANGLE SELECTION TYPE TRANSMISSION ELEMENT AND DISPLAY DEVICE
A head-mounted display (HMD) includes an electronic viewfinder. An angle selection type transmission element is provided on an optical path of the electronic viewfinder. The angle selection type transmission element is provided at a location facing an eyepoint and includes a plurality of opening portions as a limiter that limits a passage direction of light to a predetermined range. In the angle selection type transmission element, limitation angle range in the passage direction of the light is different in at least two regions and light in a direction other than the eyepoint can be limited or blocked.
Electronic book reader with closely juxtaposed display screens
A portable electronic book reading machine has two display screens juxtaposed in close proximity to allow for automatic cross referencing between primary textual material displayed on the leftmost display screen and related secondary textual material displayed on the rightmost display screen. The machine has memory in which both primary text and secondary text are stored. As the user of the machine changes the page of primary text displayed on the leftmost screen display, ebook controller circuitry automatically refreshes the rightmost screen display to allow the user to cross reference between the primary textual material and the secondary textual material, or at his or her discretion to change the page of secondary textual material displayed, thereby fine tuning the juxtaposition of pages for study.
DISPLAY DEVICE
A display device includes a cover module having a storage space therein, a display panel configured to be at least partially disposed inside the storage space or withdrawn outside the storage space, and a first driving system configured to embed and withdraw the display panel into and from the cover module in a first direction, wherein the first driving system includes a first wire drum and a first driving wire.
Display apparatus and display unit
A display apparatus includes a display unit that projects an image to a light transmissive display member. The display unit is configured to accommodate a display device and a projection optical system that projects the image displayed on the display device to the display member in a housing including an opening through which projected light is output. The projection optical system includes a first reflecting member disposed on a display device side and a second reflecting member disposed on an opening side in an optical path extending from the display device to the opening. A reflection surface of the first reflecting member that reflects the image displayed on the display device has a convex shape of a free-form surface, and a reflection surface of the second reflecting member that projects the image to the display member has a concave shape of a free-form surface.
